Language files.. docs/phrase/phrase.xml
by Brian West 18 Oct '07

18 Oct '07

Here is your turn to commit something to the project. I have recently committed the phrase.xml file which contains various phrases needed for the language subsystem in FreeSWITCH. I need as many other language translations as we can get for the phrases. I would also like you to take a look at conf/voicemail_en.xml which is the phrase macros used for english voicemail.. I'll need these updated to support the languages in phrase.xml. This is one key thing that sets FreeSWITCH apart from various other software in this area. Please step up and contribute. Thanks, Brian West

we do have a freeswitch-commit list that you can subscribe to. This would be automated, and can go online as soon as I know that people would find it helpful. I think that the notes that are there are often helpful, since sometimes they document some problems that may crop up, such as the move of mod_softtimer to the core, requiring the removal of it in modules.conf (for a recent example). The format would be basically like: revision 5923 committed by brian, Tue, 16 October 2007, 20:46:02 -0400 http://fisheye.freeswitch.org:8081/changelog/FreeSWITCH?cs=5923 outline what this is and how to contribute ---------- revision 5922 ..... and so on. To avoid flooding the list I do not recommend it be done as they come in, but some type of digest be generated. So please give me feedback on the following: 1. would this be helpful? 2. what interval (either after N commits, or every X hours -- no message will be sent if there are no commits) -- Trixter http://www.0xdecafbad.com Bret McDanel Belfast +44 28 9099 6461 US +1 516 687 5200 http://www.trxtel.com the phone company that pays you! __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Few new additions to FreeSWITCH
by Brian West 13 Oct '07

13 Oct '07

Dear FreeSWITCHers, Over the past few days we have been very busy putting some finishing touches on various parts of FreeSWITCH as we approach beta2. Here are couple of new modules and features that have been added: mod_voicemail - You guessed it a full featured voicemail system. mod_fifo - simple FIFO parking queue that can be used to accomplish very power things. We have also tweaked a few behaviors in mod_enum to facilitate ISN lookups. You can now call 888*543 and call our conference via ISN. Please feel free to download, test and beat it up to flush out any bugs and report them on jira.freeswitch.org Please feel free to document anything that might be missing on wiki.freeswitch.org Thanks, Brian West FreeSWITCH.org

Re: [Freeswitch-dev] [Freeswitch-users] FreeSWITCH Wikipedia Article
by Michael Collins 07 Oct '07

Also, there those who are willing and able to post on Wikipedia who are not 'intimately associated' with the project and therefore do not have a conflict of interest or a non-neutral viewpoint. I am one such person. If any of the developers has an idea or thought for a Wikipedia post, please email me offline with your suggestions. I will review them from my neutral, unbiased position and then I'll put those ideas into my own words and post them on the Wikipedia article. NOTE: in all fairness to Wikipedia I won't throw just anything onto the WP article, so if you want to see something on WP or see it updated please be prepared to make a valid case. I won't be a fascist like some of the WP editors have been, but I will be both tough and fair. Don't let them get away with it.
