[Freeswitch-dev] Sofia SIP: Addresses c= and o= changed when sending INVITE with 0.0.0.0
by Huang, Kun-Yao 20 Oct '16

Hello all, I've seen this asked a long time ago here but I could not find an answer, so trying again. I realise this is the old way of putting a call on hold, but why does sofiasip automatically change my origin and media IPs? When the address is "0.0.0.0", sofia sip changes it silently, after calling "soa_check_sdp_connection" from "offer_answer_step", while processing the o= and c= fields before sending the INVITE. I am just wondering why does "soa_check_sdp_connection" check for "0.0.0.0" as invalid, when some systems out there still use this address to signal that the call is on hold: int soa_check_sdp_connection(sdp_connection_t const *c) { return c != NULL && c->c_nettype &&c->c_address && strcmp(c->c_address, "") && strcmp(c->c_address, "0.0.0.0") && strcmp(c->c_address, "::"); } Thanks, Kun-Yao Huang

[Freeswitch-dev] FreeSWITCH SIP Adaptive codec switching
by Philippe Duke 10 Oct '16

10 Oct '16

Hello, dear FreeSWITCH developers. Would like to ask you what we need to implement adaptive codec switching using SIP re-invites in the application. Adaptive codec switching is the codec parameters renegotiation (SIP re-invite) using network measurements of jitter and bandwidth between two legs. Would like to ask if we have a some docu defines this method. We have a lack of clients support it, but we may rely on open project to make it work. I suggest to use some kind of protocol extension to achive such behavior. -- Philippe Duke Network software engineer System-level developer NetAssist LLC Ukraine Khreshchatyk Street, 10B, office 8 AS29632 http://netassist.ua Our GitHub Repository: https://github.com/netassist-ua
