[Freeswitch-dev] mod_mono Build
by David Brazier 04 Oct '08

04 Oct '08

Hi I have made a number of fixes and additions to mod_mono/mod_mono_managed so that: - It builds on Linux (non-managed and managed parts) - It works when FreeSWITCH is embedded in a Mono program. I'd like to submit these changes to the project - how would I do that? Raise a Jira item? The versioning of the SWIG-generated files (mod_mono/freeswitch_wrap.cxx and mod_mono_managed/swig/*.cs) is problematic - since mod_mono managed attempts to wrap the entire core FreeSWITCH library, when the library functions change, then the mod_mono SWIG should be run again. Otherwise, mod_mono may try to call functions that have changed their interface (though perhaps that is rare). So it would be ideal if the SWIG stage were just part of the FreeSWITCH build. Is it safe to assume that SWIG is available when building FreeSWITCH? Perhaps it is is used in other modules? [Freeswitch-dev] Send event from javascript?
by Johny Kadarisman 25 Sep '08

25 Sep '08

Hi, I am trying to fire a custom event from javascript, and found following code snippet: ===================== var msg = "Hello, welcome to the FreeSWITCH demo application please enter some text into the chat box"; e = new Event("custom", "message"); e.addBody(msg); session.sendEvent(e); ====================== But, i don't seems to receive the custom event on the event_socket side. Is this still a valid way to fire event from javascripts? I can't seem to find any ref except above snippet on wiki or mailing list. Best Regards, Johny K.

[Freeswitch-dev] Adding Extensions, Gateways and Many More
by Zahid Maqbool 25 Sep '08

25 Sep '08

Hello Everyone, I have setup freeswitch with two soft phone and it all works great(Thanks to all the guys here for poining me to the right direction). Now I have some questions, I saw in one of the freeswitch web UI called wikipbx, where they are adding extensions and gateways through the user interface. I only could understand the screenshots, but couldnt understand the code as it was in python I guess. Now what I want to know is that, how can we add extensions through the console or xml-rpc etc? Specifically is there any such command for this, because I had an understanding that sip clients themselves register and get an extension. If no, how do they do it, any ideas how can I achieve that?? And finally how do we add gateways such as sipura, do they configiure themselves automatically or is there any way to do so? Finally, if I want free switch to tell my application about every request it gets such as register request etc, is this possible? Thanks a lot for your time and effort!!! -- Kind Regards, Zahid Maqbool

[Freeswitch-dev] [freeswitch-dev] channel driver question
by jonathan augenstine 25 Sep '08

25 Sep '08

I have a question. I am working with a group that is developing some channel drivers for Asterisk. I have been asked to investigate what is involved in porting an Asterisk channel driver to Freeswitch. Are the Asterisk and Freeswitch channel drivers similar or are they distinctly different? [Freeswitch-dev] Additional Audio Functionality
by Robert Clayton 24 Sep '08

24 Sep '08

All, I was attempting to use FS for dictation but need more audio functionality. I was wondering if you had any suggestion on where to patch the FS core for: 1) Pause during recording. (Pause a recording, listen to audio (prompts), then return to continue appending to the paused recorded stream.) 2) Seeking and repositioning the recording point on the stream currently being recorded. (Ex. Recording could be rewound, listened to, paused and continued from the pause point.) 3) On #2 appending is necessary where insertion would be a useful option. Thanks, Bob

[Freeswitch-dev] Hello!
by Zahid Maqbool 19 Sep '08

19 Sep '08

Hi Guys, Would really appreciate if anyone can tell me where to begin. I am a java guy, does it support java. Also please tell me how should I proceed because I just don't want to download and install, I am looking for some developments based on it. Also are there any documentations available for Java. If so how can I find it, I would really appreciate if anyone can give me the Most Useful Links List in order for me to start using this. Thank you all very much for your time and effort! -- Kind Regards, Zahid Maqbool

[Freeswitch-dev] mod_openzap and PRI from users-list
by Evgeniy Zolotov 19 Sep '08

19 Sep '08

Here is how it is to see really used dialect for span: 1. To write down erroneous /etc/openzap/openzap.conf - nonconsistent trunk_type $ cat /etc/openzap/openzap.conf [span zt] name => OpenZAP number => 1 trunk_type => Z1 #trunk_type => E1 b-channel => 1-15 d-channel => 16 b-channel => 17-31 [span zt] name => OpenZAP number => 2 trunk_type => Z1 #trunk_type => E1 b-channel => 32-46 d-channel => 47 b-channel => 48-62 [span zt] name => OpenZAP number => 3 trunk_type => Z1 #trunk_type => E1 b-channel => 63-77 d-channel => 78 b-channel => 79-93 [span zt] name => OpenZAP number => 4 trunk_type => Z1 #trunk_type => E1 b-channel => 94-108 d-channel => 109 b-channel => 110-124 2. And then in error message of mod_openzap's loading it's possible to see dialect's index: 2008-09-19 16:12:48 [ERR] mod_openzap.c:1638 load_config() Error starting OpenZAP span 1 mode: 0 dialect: 0 error: Unknown trunk type! 2008-09-19 16:12:48 [ERR] mod_openzap.c:1638 load_config() Error starting OpenZAP span 2 mode: 0 dialect: 2 error: Unknown trunk type! 2008-09-19 16:12:48 [ERR] mod_openzap.c:1638 load_config() Error starting OpenZAP span 3 mode: 0 dialect: 4 error: Unknown trunk type! 2008-09-19 16:12:48 [ERR] mod_openzap.c:1638 load_config() Error starting OpenZAP span 4 mode: 0 dialect: 6 error: Unknown trunk type! - this conforms to PRI configuration: <configuration name="openzap.conf" description="OpenZAP Configuration"> <settings> <param name="debug" value="1"/> </settings> <pri_spans> <param name="dialect" value="q931" /> ... <param name="dialect" value="national" /> ... <param name="dialect" value="dms"/> ... <param name="dialect" value="5ess" /> ... </pri_spans> </configuration> But if now to write unknown FreeSWITCH dialects into a PRI configuration, <param name="dialect" value="XYZ" /> ... <param name="dialect" value="euro" /> ... </pri_spans> </configuration> - then we'll get such mistake message: 2008-09-19 16:25:44 [ERR] mod_openzap.c:1638 load_config() Error starting OpenZAP span 1 mode: 0 dialect: 0 error: Unknown trunk type! 2008-09-19 16:25:44 [ERR] mod_openzap.c:1638 load_config() Error starting OpenZAP span 2 mode: 0 dialect: 2 error: Unknown trunk type! 2008-09-19 16:25:44 [ERR] mod_openzap.c:1638 load_config() Error starting OpenZAP span 3 mode: 0 dialect: 2 error: Unknown trunk type! 2008-09-19 16:25:44 [ERR] mod_openzap.c:1638 load_config() Error starting OpenZAP span 4 mode: 0 dialect: 2 error: Unknown trunk type! It's visible that: 1. FreeSWITCH doesn't identify dialects "euro" и "XYZ"... 2. Insted them it substitutes dialect "national" => 2 without any debug message.

[Freeswitch-dev] mod_openzap and PRI form users-list
by Evgeniy Zolotov 19 Sep '08

19 Sep '08

One more trouble ( mod-openzap is configured like at previous letter ) : On running FS is done the following: freeswitch(a)opos8.altron.lan> load mod_openzap ... all OK ... configured span 1 & span 2 ... next is done: freeswitch(a)opos8.altron.lan> unload mod_openzap ... freeswitch(a)opos8.altron.lan> load mod_openzap In this case FreeSWITCH tries to configure span 3 & span 4 ( indtead the span 1 and span 2) - ERROR If we'll try repeat the same sequence : unload mod_openzap - load mod_openzap , then FreeSWITCH will configure spans 5 & 6. Why does it matters?
