[Freeswitch-dev] pre-paid calling card app
by Frank - IMPACT 26 Nov '07

Has anyone fitted any of the pre-paid calling card apps to FreeSwitch yet? Which ones? I may have a consulting job to implement a pre-paid calling card app on FreeSwitch if there are any out there.

[Freeswitch-dev] [Freeswitch-users], mod_java link problem in build

I just attempted the build of mod_java. The previous problem is resolved but some new issues have cropped up. There is a link problem now with unresolved symbols. Below is a trace of the build. [Freeswitch-dev] wiki info
by Trixter aka Bret McDanel 20 Nov '07

20 Nov '07

I have created some templates for use in different pages. I need your help in placing them in appropriate places in the wiki content. I have examples on my wiki page http://wiki.freeswitch.org/wiki/User:Trixterso you can see them and learn how to add them. I have created some usage of different images to give you a feel for it on http://wiki.freeswitch.org http://wiki.freeswitch.org/wiki/Installation_Guide http://wiki.freeswitch.org/wiki/Getting_Started_Guide Please give me feedback on this, I think its better because it breaks up the text in a way that makes it easier to read, it also more clearly identifies what is a tip, what you should type, what is something to edit, etc. Feel free to create new templates, the ones I did can be accessed via http://wiki.freeswitch.org/wiki/Category:Templates In addition I plan on creating a few more for various bits of info which can automagically add pages to categories, and do a few other things. -- Trixter http://www.0xdecafbad.com Bret McDanel Belfast +44 28 9099 6461 US +1 516 687 5200 http://www.trxtel.com the phone company that pays you!

[Freeswitch-dev] mod_java build problem
by jonathan augenstine 19 Nov '07

19 Nov '07

I am trying to build the mod_java module and I am encountering a compile problem. Initially, I encountered this on OSX and chalked it off to a BSD gcc issue (I have encountered issues with BSD build problems before and yet it will build successfully on Linux). I then attempted to build on Fedora and encountered the same exact problem. The error listed is a pointer initialization issue: making all mod_java Compiling freeswitch_java.cpp... Compiling switch_swig_wrap.cpp... Compiling mod_java.c... cc1: warnings being treated as errors mod_java.c:117: warning: initialization from incompatible pointer type make[5]: *** [mod_java.o] Error 1 make[4]: *** [all] Error 1 make[3]: *** [mod_java-all] Error 1 make[2]: *** [all-recursive] Error 1 make[1]: *** [all-recursive] Error 1 make: *** [all] Error 2 mod_java.c: 115 static switch_application_interface_t java_application_interface = { 116 /*.interface_name */ "java", 117 /*.application_function */ java_function, 118 NULL, NULL, NULL, 119 /* flags */ SAF_NONE, 120 /* should we support no media mode here? If so, we need to detect the mode, and either disable t he media functions or indicate media if/when we need */ 121 /*.next */ NULL 122 }; When I look at the method prototype, it looks OK. I do see a difference between the implementation of mod_java and mod_python (which does build successfully) but I thought I would check to see if there is some build configuration issue before pursuing the mod_python implementation issue. Have changes been made to the mod/languages interface that would explain this compile error? Jonathan

[Freeswitch-dev] H323 and FreeSWITCH
by Brian West 19 Nov '07

19 Nov '07

ATTENTION: I would like to see a fully functional H323 endpoint module in FreeSWITCH before the first release... to make this do able I need to find funding so I can have someone clear the time to move forward. The guys are working very hard on the endpoint module and I thank them for the work but we need to step up dev and see if we can crank out this before release 1. Anyone willing to provide funding please find me off list ASAP and we'll talk. Thanks, Brian

[Freeswitch-dev] Openzap/PRI not working, see pastebin 3492
by Michael Collins 18 Nov '07

18 Nov '07

FYI, After rebuilding my freeswitch install and restoring my previous *.conf.xml files I am unable to get openzap working. I've pasted the log trace here: http://pastebin.freeswitch.org/3492 I think it might just be configs but I'm not too sure. Openzap loads, sees my openzap.conf file but fails to open openzap.conf.xml. It's definitely in my conf directory and has readable permissions. Suggestions, please! Thanks, Michael

[Freeswitch-dev] Fisheye with tabs at 4 chars?
by Michael Collins 14 Nov '07

14 Nov '07

Guys, I see in the Fisheye docs that they have a setting for specifying tab lengths: --Xtab-width Docs say it defaults to 8 spaces; all of the source code I've seen in the repo uses 4-space tabs. Anyway to restart Fisheye w/ tabs at 4 characters long? Thanks, MC

[Freeswitch-dev] apr_ vs. switch_ namespace questions
by Michael Collins 09 Nov '07

09 Nov '07

Guys, bkw gave me some homework and now I have a few questions. I notice that in switch-types.h there are all sorts of typedef struct statements that create a switch_ version of the corresponding apr_ type. However, I've also noticed that scattered throughout the source that there are numerous occasions where the apr_ namespace is used even when there is a switch_ equivalent available. Example: using apr_pool_t instead of switch_memory_pool_t in mod_openmrcp.c. Questions: Is it FS standard policy/best practices always to use the switch_ namespace? Are there legitimate situations where one would prefer apr_ instead of switch_? Thanks, MC P.S. - If there are cases where apr_ is used when there are switch_ equivalents, does that mean there is an impending codebase cleanup project to make everything consistent?
