[Freeswitch-dev] Do we have memory leak in eventing model?
by Mody, Darshan (Darshan) 06 Jul '18

We are looking into the memory leaks. We are heavily using BGAPI with lua interface. We are currently closely looking into switch_event_queue_dispatch_event method. We don't get why are we setting the values as NULL and not destroying the event. static switch_status_t switch_event_queue_dispatch_event(switch_event_t **eventp) { switch_event_t *event = *eventp; if (!SYSTEM_RUNNING) { return SWITCH_STATUS_FALSE; } while (event) { int launch = 0; switch_mutex_lock(EVENT_QUEUE_MUTEX); if (!PENDING && switch_queue_size(EVENT_DISPATCH_QUEUE) > (unsigned int)(DISPATCH_QUEUE_LEN * DISPATCH_THREAD_COUNT)) { if (SOFT_MAX_DISPATCH + 1 < MAX_DISPATCH) { launch++; PENDING++; } } switch_mutex_unlock(EVENT_QUEUE_MUTEX); if (launch) { if (SOFT_MAX_DISPATCH + 1 < MAX_DISPATCH) { switch_event_launch_dispatch_threads(SOFT_MAX_DISPATCH + 1); } switch_mutex_lock(EVENT_QUEUE_MUTEX); PENDING--; switch_mutex_unlock(EVENT_QUEUE_MUTEX); } *eventp = NULL; switch_queue_push(EVENT_DISPATCH_QUEUE, event); <-- We are pushing the event in the queue event = NULL; <-- we are just setting this value as NULL. Shouldn't we destroy the event using switch_event_destroy method? } return SWITCH_STATUS_SUCCESS; Help in this regard is highly appreciated. Thanks Darshan

[Freeswitch-dev] Memory leak with MIME
by Mody, Darshan (Darshan) 21 Jun '18

Hi We are observing memory leak when we have MIME data in the incoming invite. The resident memory usage increases constantly. When we tried the traffic without MIME and only SDP the usage stays constant. Attaching the freeswitch logs for the same. Thanks Darshan

[Freeswitch-dev] Verto receive video only?
by Chad Phillips 07 Jun '18

I poked around the Verto JS code (currently jquery.FSRTC.js and jquery.verto.js as far as I can tell), and it doesn’t seem there’s any way to pass offerToReceiveAudio/offerToReceiveVideo as a constraint when calling createOffer() on the peer connection. I’m asking because I’d like to receive video only instead of both audio and video. Is there some magic incantation I’m missing? Or should I file a PR to add this capability?

[Freeswitch-dev] mirror to GitHub?
by Adam Goode 04 Jun '18

Hi, I know that the freeswitch repo has some compatibility issues with GitHub, with the two multi-author commits made some time ago. I recently was able to push a clone of freeswitch to GitHub by filing a ticket and asking them to disable the strict checking for those objects. Now that there is a way to do so, it might be worth setting up a mirror of freeswitch to GitHub. Many projects that host their main git repo elsewhere still find value in keeping a GitHub mirror. I personally would find it useful. https://help.github.com/articles/about-github-mirrors/ It's just a thought, now that there is a way around the previous technical limitation. Thanks, Adam
