Re: [Freeswitch-dev] is a digest of svn wanted?
we do have a freeswitch-commit list that you can subscribe to. This would be automated, and can go online as soon as I know that people would find it helpful. I think that the notes that are there are often helpful, since sometimes they document some problems that may crop up, such as the move of mod_softtimer to the core, requiring the removal of it in modules.conf (for a recent example). The format would be basically like: revision 5923 committed by brian, Tue, 16 October 2007, 20:46:02 -0400 http://fisheye.freeswitch.org:8081/changelog/FreeSWITCH?cs=5923 outline what this is and how to contribute ---------- revision 5922 ..... and so on. To avoid flooding the list I do not recommend it be done as they come in, but some type of digest be generated. So please give me feedback on the following: 1. would this be helpful? 2. what interval (either after N commits, or every X hours -- no message will be sent if there are no commits) -- Trixter http://www.0xdecafbad.com Bret McDanel Belfast +44 28 9099 6461 US +1 516 687 5200 http://www.trxtel.com the phone company that pays you! __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? I looked at that and it includes a diff, and a bunch of other stuff that makesi t quite big. This would only be who, when and the commit message. It would also be a digest instead of one email per commit. So I am ready to go with it, just dont know if its really wanted. -- Trixter http://www.0xdecafbad.com Bret McDanel Belfast +44 28 9099 6461 US +1 516 687 5200 http://www.trxtel.com the phone company that pays you!

I would actually have time to read that. :) Trying to read all of the posts to svn-commit got overwhelming, so I un-subbed. On another project there's a daily summary of the last day's commit logs and affected files. It's very helpful and I would at least get some benefit from it. Once a day posted to the -dev list is my vote. -Chris -- \\\|||/// \ Chris Parker - Segmentation Fault ( core dumped ) \ ~ ~ / \ | @ @ | \ http://www.segv.org | cparker@segv.org oOo (_) oOo \ ------------------------------------------------------------------------ # OS's are nothing more than device drivers! #
