Hi Guys, Would really appreciate if anyone can tell me where to begin. I am a java guy, does it support java. Also please tell me how should I proceed because I just don't want to download and install, I am looking for some developments based on it. Also are there any documentations available for Java. If so how can I find it, I would really appreciate if anyone can give me the Most Useful Links List in order for me to start using this. Thank you all very much for your time and effort! -- Kind Regards, Zahid Maqbool

mod_openzap and PRI from users-list

Here is how it is to see really used dialect for span: 1. To write down erroneous /etc/openzap/openzap.conf - nonconsistent trunk_type $ cat /etc/openzap/openzap.conf [span zt] name => OpenZAP number => 1 trunk_type => Z1 #trunk_type => E1 b-channel => 1-15 d-channel => 16 b-channel => 17-31 [span zt] name => OpenZAP number => 2 trunk_type => Z1 #trunk_type => E1 b-channel => 32-46 d-channel => 47 b-channel => 48-62 [span zt] name => OpenZAP number => 3 trunk_type => Z1 #trunk_type => E1 b-channel => 63-77 d-channel => 78 b-channel => 79-93 [span zt] name => OpenZAP number => 4 trunk_type => Z1 #trunk_type => E1 b-channel => 94-108 d-channel => 109 b-channel => 110-124 2. And then in error message of mod_openzap's loading it's possible to see dialect's index: 2008-09-19 16:12:48 [ERR] mod_openzap.c:1638 load_config() Error starting OpenZAP span 1 mode: 0 dialect: 0 error: Unknown trunk type! 2008-09-19 16:12:48 [ERR] mod_openzap.c:1638 load_config() Error starting OpenZAP span 2 mode: 0 dialect: 2 error: Unknown trunk type! 2008-09-19 16:12:48 [ERR] mod_openzap.c:1638 load_config() Error starting OpenZAP span 3 mode: 0 dialect: 4 error: Unknown trunk type! 2008-09-19 16:12:48 [ERR] mod_openzap.c:1638 load_config() Error starting OpenZAP span 4 mode: 0 dialect: 6 error: Unknown trunk type! - this conforms to PRI configuration: <configuration name="openzap.conf" description="OpenZAP Configuration"> <settings> <param name="debug" value="1"/> </settings> <pri_spans> <param name="dialect" value="q931" /> ... <param name="dialect" value="national" /> ... <param name="dialect" value="dms"/> ... <param name="dialect" value="5ess" /> ... </pri_spans> </configuration> But if now to write unknown FreeSWITCH dialects into a PRI configuration, <param name="dialect" value="XYZ" /> ... <param name="dialect" value="euro" /> ... </pri_spans> </configuration> - then we'll get such mistake message: 2008-09-19 16:25:44 [ERR] mod_openzap.c:1638 load_config() Error starting OpenZAP span 1 mode: 0 dialect: 0 error: Unknown trunk type! 2008-09-19 16:25:44 [ERR] mod_openzap.c:1638 load_config() Error starting OpenZAP span 2 mode: 0 dialect: 2 error: Unknown trunk type! 2008-09-19 16:25:44 [ERR] mod_openzap.c:1638 load_config() Error starting OpenZAP span 3 mode: 0 dialect: 2 error: Unknown trunk type! 2008-09-19 16:25:44 [ERR] mod_openzap.c:1638 load_config() Error starting OpenZAP span 4 mode: 0 dialect: 2 error: Unknown trunk type! It's visible that: 1. FreeSWITCH doesn't identify dialects "euro" и "XYZ"... 2. Insted them it substitutes dialect "national" => 2 without any debug message.

mod_openzap and PRI form users-list

One more trouble ( mod-openzap is configured like at previous letter ) : On running FS is done the following: freeswitch(a)opos8.altron.lan> load mod_openzap ... all OK ... configured span 1 & span 2 ... next is done: freeswitch(a)opos8.altron.lan> unload mod_openzap ... freeswitch(a)opos8.altron.lan> load mod_openzap In this case FreeSWITCH tries to configure span 3 & span 4 ( indtead the span 1 and span 2) - ERROR If we'll try repeat the same sequence : unload mod_openzap - load mod_openzap , then FreeSWITCH will configure spans 5 & 6. Why does it matters?

Dialplan Defaults

Hi everyone, I am in the process of doing something very straightforward - hooking up a DID from Link2Voip into my FS instance (built from SVN Curent on Debian) In an effort to only change as little as possible to get this baby to respond to a phone call, I have simply added my provider into the /conf/sip_profiles/external and also added in the extension file into /conf/dialplan/extensions I am able to get the system to Register and I am also able to get an incoming call - however that is where the fun stops. I hit F8 on my console and this is what I got: 2008-09-18 02:11:38 [INFO] mod_dialplan_xml.c:228 dialplan_hunt() Processing 6044880583->18665780244 in context public 2008-09-18 02:11:38 [DEBUG] mod_dialplan_xml.c:113 parse_exten() test conditions ${unroll_loops}(true) =~ /^true$/ 2008-09-18 02:11:38 [DEBUG] mod_dialplan_xml.c:113 parse_exten() test conditions ${sip_looped_call}() =~ /^true$/ 2008-09-18 02:11:38 [DEBUG] mod_dialplan_xml.c:115 parse_exten() Regex mismatch 2008-09-18 02:11:38 [DEBUG] mod_dialplan_xml.c:113 parse_exten() test conditions destination_number(18665780244) =~ /^(10[01][0-9])$/ 2008-09-18 02:11:38 [DEBUG] mod_dialplan_xml.c:115 parse_exten() Regex mismatch 2008-09-18 02:11:38 [DEBUG] mod_dialplan_xml.c:113 parse_exten() test conditions destination_number(18665780244) =~ /^(5551212)$/ 2008-09-18 02:11:38 [DEBUG] mod_dialplan_xml.c:115 parse_exten() Regex mismatch 2008-09-18 02:11:38 [INFO] switch_core_state_machine.c:114 switch_core_standard_on_routing() No Route, Aborting I *think* I understand what is going on here - but I *disagree* with defaults. For most users, I would expect them to do exactly what I just did - try to change as little as possble and only add files as needed. So finding that the initial root of the dialplan matching happens within public.xml, I attempted to see if there was a better regex match (better than the 5551212 :) and tried ^\d{10,15}$ - basically any number between 10 and 15 digits, good for most of the planet generically. I got no matches, so I though maybe the syntax was strange and went for something simpler - ^[0-9]{10,15}$ - still no matches. Then I brute forced it - ^(18665780244)$ - got a match! yay! - Fun stops again :( Just to be sure my custom extension matcher in the /conf/dialplan/extensions did not interfere with anything, I renamed it to get it from loading. here is the other fun stopper: My default context starts to be processed and here is the end of it.... 2008-09-18 02:52:29 [DEBUG] mod_dialplan_xml.c:113 parse_exten() test conditions destination_number(18665780244) =~ /^9997$/ 2008-09-18 02:52:29 [DEBUG] mod_dialplan_xml.c:115 parse_exten() Regex mismatch 2008-09-18 02:52:29 [DEBUG] mod_dialplan_xml.c:113 parse_exten() test conditions destination_number(18665780244) =~ /^9998$/ 2008-09-18 02:52:29 [DEBUG] mod_dialplan_xml.c:115 parse_exten() Regex mismatch 2008-09-18 02:52:29 [DEBUG] mod_dialplan_xml.c:113 parse_exten() test conditions destination_number(18665780244) =~ /^9999$/ 2008-09-18 02:52:29 [DEBUG] mod_dialplan_xml.c:115 parse_exten() Regex mismatch 2008-09-18 02:52:29 [DEBUG] mod_dialplan_xml.c:113 parse_exten() test conditions destination_number(18665780244) =~ /^(pizza|74992)$/ 2008-09-18 02:52:29 [DEBUG] mod_dialplan_xml.c:115 parse_exten() Regex mismatch 2008-09-18 02:52:29 [DEBUG] mod_dialplan_xml.c:113 parse_exten() test conditions ${module_exists(mod_enum)}(true) =~ /true/ 2008-09-18 02:52:29 [DEBUG] mod_dialplan_xml.c:113 parse_exten() test conditions destination_number(18665780244) =~ /^(.*)$/ 2008-09-18 02:52:29 [DEBUG] switch_core_state_machine.c:97 switch_core_standard_on_routing() sofia/external/6045151148(a)66.51.127.163State Change CS_ROUTING -> CS_EXECUTE 2008-09-18 02:52:29 [DEBUG] switch_core_session.c:727 switch_core_session_signal_state_change() Kill sofia/external/6045151148(a)66.51.127.163 [BREAK] 2008-09-18 02:52:29 [DEBUG] switch_core_state_machine.c:420 switch_core_session_run() (sofia/external/6045151148(a)66.51.127.163) State ROUTING going to sleep 2008-09-18 02:52:29 [DEBUG] switch_core_state_machine.c:365 switch_core_session_run() sofia/external/6045151148(a)66.51.127.163 Running State Change CS_EXECUTE 2008-09-18 02:52:29 [DEBUG] switch_core_state_machine.c:430 switch_core_session_run() (sofia/external/6045151148(a)66.51.127.163) State EXECUTE 2008-09-18 02:52:29 [DEBUG] mod_sofia.c:156 sofia_on_execute() sofia/external/6045151148(a)66.51.127.163 SOFIA EXECUTE 2008-09-18 02:52:29 [DEBUG] switch_core_state_machine.c:129 switch_core_standard_on_execute() Standard EXECUTE 2008-09-18 02:52:29 [DEBUG] switch_core_state_machine.c:140 switch_core_standard_on_execute() sofia/external/6045151148(a)66.51.127.163Execute set(use_profile=${cond(${acl(${network_addr} rfc1918)} == true ? A better regex for the default DID install 2. Fix the regex on the enum extension OR remove it OR Better documentation surrounding the name of a file for custom extensions 3. It would be awesome to see the dialplan hunt debugs indicate the name of the extension of the match it is currently looking at, for example - 2008-09-18 03:08:28 [DEBUG] mod_dialplan_xml.c:113 parse_exten() test conditions destination_number(18665780244) =~ /^9998$/ - would become: - 2008-09-18 03:08:28 [DEBUG] mod_dialplan_xml.c:113 parse_exten() * {tone_stream}* test conditions destination_number(18665780244) =~ /^9998$/ 4. Fix the infinite loop on the enum extension Thanks for listening! Christian P.S. I originally tried this out on Windows and instead of my destination number getting set correctly, the destination number kept coming back as the username I used to log in with. Is this a known issue or shall I debug?

Lua COM Interface
by Robert Clayton 15 Sep '08

All, I am in need for a FreeSwitch COM interface. Is there any functionality in mod_lua to interface to Microsoft COM objects. If not is it overly complex to include the LuaCOM library. Bob Clayton

Custom format module
by Simon Capper 15 Sep '08

15 Sep '08

I'm creating a custom format module for an audio stream that cannot be opened by any of the existing format. I've used mod_tones as an example, my format module supports read only and is generating the tones itself. Does the read function have to return slin format data or can it return alaw or another format, if so how do I specify the format, I see a format field in the stream handle but cannot see where it is used in fs core? Thanks, Simon

Clients connected to event socket module?
by Johny Kadarisman 13 Sep '08

13 Sep '08

Hi, I'm wondering, Is there anyway to know event socket sessions that still active? something like 'show managers' in asterisk. I want to prevent 2 socket clients to establish connection to freeswitch, any thought on how to prevent this situation. Thanks, Johny K.

FreeSWITCH developer wanted as consultant for new installation
by Derek Sivers 12 Sep '08

12 Sep '08

Sorry to post on the -dev list, but nobody's on the empty -biz list, and I only wanted to speak with FreeSWITCH developers. I'd like to hire a few hours of a good FreeSWITCH developer's time to install and configure a basic FreeSWITCH installation for my small business. Though I'm a techie and could install it myself, I prefer to pay an expert so I can learn from the best, and ask questions along the way. Then I can maintain it myself in the future. Plus I like the idea of contributing money to FreeSWITCH development. :-) The installation will be simple : a Xen (EC2?) virtual server, a few incoming SIP lines through junctionnetworks.com, a few SIP phones (hardware and software) on the receiving end. The only feature I need up-front is automatically recording every incoming and outgoing call to WAV format on the server. I'm open your recommendation on where to host and how to implement this. If interested and available, please email me off-list (before September 16, 2008) at dereksivers(a)yahoo.com with an hourly rate you'd be happy with. I'm happy to pay well to show my support of FreeSWITCH, which seems like a great project. Thanks and sorry again for posting this on -dev. - Derek

Chunky sound in wav file using Record_Session with RECORD_STEREO=true
by Sebastien Maisonneuve 11 Sep '08

11 Sep '08

Hy all, I have record some calls using Record_session using event_socket. I have done the set variable before : <action application="set" data="RECORD_STEREO=true"/> But when I listen to the leg A in the wav file generated, the sound is really chunky. The leg B is perfect. My Config : I'm using latest svn version on a linux 64 bits server. (Linux x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux) I start call using event socket. Any Idea ? sebastien
