Hi what is the best way to implement a web interface in which all channels are displayed and by clicking on each channel, user could listen to that channel. I need to somehow get the rtp stream (for example using eavesdrop application) on the browser. is it possible? if is how? thanx

Video synchronization
by Paulo Rogério Panhoto 13 Jul '10

13 Jul '10

Hi, This is my first post to this list and I hope this is the right one to ask. For the last couple of weeks, I've been working on a mod to play MP4 Video files (recording will be the next step). For simplicity, I chose to use the same kind of MP4 files as the Asterisk app: H26x/MPEG Video track + PCMU audio track. I used as base the mod_fsv code and added code based on the mpeg4ip library. I've actually got a video to work but I'm having some problem to synchronize the audio and video. I have an idea of how the algorithm should be but I don't know how to use the switch_core_timer to implement it. the current loop is much like mod_fsv: while (switch_channel_ready(channel)) { vid_frame.packetlen = vid_frame.buflen; write_frame.datalen = write_frame.buflen; bool vOk = vc.getVideoPacket(vid_frame.packet, vid_frame.packetlen); bool aOk = vc.getAudioPacket(write_frame.data, write_frame.datalen); if (!vOk && !aOk) break; if (vOk) { switch_rtp_hdr_t *hdr = reinterpret_cast<switch_rtp_hdr_t *>(vid_frame.packet); // Adjusts timestamp to standard 90KHz clock. ts = ntohl(hdr->ts) * 90000 / vc.videoTrack().track.clock; hdr->ts = htonl(ts); if (pt) hdr->pt = pt; if (switch_channel_test_flag(channel, CF_VIDEO)) { switch_byte_t *data = (switch_byte_t *) vid_frame.packet; vid_frame.data = data + 12; vid_frame.datalen = vid_frame.packetlen - 12; switch_core_session_write_video_frame(session, &vid_frame, SWITCH_IO_FLAG_NONE, 0); } if (ts && last && last != ts) { switch_cond_next(); } last = ts; } if(aOk) { if (write_frame.datalen > (int) write_frame.buflen) write_frame.datalen = write_frame.buflen; switch_core_session_write_frame(session, &write_frame, SWITCH_IO_FLAG_NONE, 0); } switch_core_timer_next(&timer); } I think it should be like this (pseudocode) nextAudio = nextVideo = ts = 0 while(switch_channel_ready()) { read_video_frame(); read_audio_frame(); nextVideo = ntohl(hdr->ts) * 90000 / video.clock; waitTime = min(nextAudio, nextVideo) - ts; if(waitTime > 0) { wait(waitTime); ts += waitTime; } if(ts >= nextAudio) { send_audio_frame(); nextAudio += 20 * 90/8; // use the same clock source } if(ts >= nextVideo) { send_video_frame(); } } Any suggestion is much appreciated. Regards, Paulo R. Panhoto

FXS bridged on FXO ports and DTMF - Deja Vu
by Jeroen C. van Gelderen 13 Jul '10

13 Jul '10

Hi everybody, I have a problem that is very similar to a problem reported by François [1] except for the fact that my FXS and FXO ports are on a Xorcom Astribank device instead of a Sangoma. To quote François: "The problem is that each leg of the bridge is detecting the inband DTMF, and so [F]reeswitch sends each detected DTMF from one leg to the other, and so on and so forth (as each leg detects the DTMF again and again)" HIS words but evidenced by the MY log :) The snippet below has DTMF coming in on the FXS port (1:1) and bouncing between it and the FXO port (3:1). The ports are simply bridged together with "bridge(OpenZap/3/1/F)" or "bridge(OpenZap/3/1/w)" I'm running: FreeSWITCH version: 1.0.head (git-01c0c69 2010-06-08 16-22-21 -0500) dahdi: Version: SVN-trunk-r8762 Output of lsdahdi at end of message. ----8<----8<----8<----8<----8<----8<----8<---- [...] 2010-06-13 04:18:39.217256 [DEBUG] mod_openzap.c:721 queue DTMF [4] 2010-06-13 04:18:39.256255 [DEBUG] zap_io.c:2062 3:1 GENERATE DTMF [4] 2010-06-13 04:18:39.397253 [DEBUG] mod_openzap.c:721 queue DTMF [4] 2010-06-13 04:18:39.439252 [DEBUG] mod_openzap.c:780 Dropping frame! record session core freeswitch on sun510
by lei shan 12 Jul '10

12 Jul '10

hello, Recently I have comiled and run freeswitch1.06 on a sun510 server. Everything worked smoothly, except when I began to test function: record_session. the freeswitch cored. dbx trace shows core occurred in the function switch_core_media_bug_read. line231:z += (int32_t) * (dp + x); or line217: *(tp++) = *(dp + x); I realize the reason is different byte order of a int16_t on Intel and sparc. but because I don't understand the logic of bug_read, I don't know how to fix this issue. anyone can help? thx

Hi Brian, I really appriciate your help. And I am sorry to bother you. Actually I didn't know the appropriate list to post my query so I posted it on both the users and dev list. As you said you moderate first post; I didn't see my queries in lists so I tried to post it back that's why it appears more than once. Again I am sorry to bother / disturb you. I keep in mind not to repeat this. V8 Performance Tests
by Jan Berger 07 Jul '10

07 Jul '10

Did a quick and dirty performance test comparing C, C++ and V8. This is not a valid benchmark in any way, it is only a test to give me a feeling about how "slow" V8 is compared to pure C and C++. The code also executed in the same loop and C/C++ tests was in a separate function so all 3 tests had exactly the same overhead in the C++ part. C : 1,4 Mill/sec C++: 0.8 Mill/sec V8 Run Only: 0,8 Mill/Sec V8 Compile+Run: 0,4 Mill/sec Other tests will show other differences - this is just an indication that V8 actually might compare with C/C++ performance wise + their memory handling look promissing. Threads ? They use globals and statics that will not thread that easy if you atteempt to thread V8 itself - I need to experiment and see. Jan

Fwd: Two FreeSWITCH Box IVR Call Transfer
by Jigar Thakkar 07 Jul '10

07 Jul '10

Hi Guys, I am a beginner to FreeSWITCH. I have few questions. 1. What is the difference between BRIDGE, ORIGINATE and TRANSFER. 2. I have two FreeSWITCH box. BoxA and BoxB 1. User will make a call to BoxA; BoxA's IVR collect some information i.e. userid and pin. 2. Now BoxA will forward/transfer/bridge call to BoxB's IVR ( here i want to pass userid as channel variable) 3. Box B will ask for another pin i.e. pin2, verifies the same and pass whether pin2 is correct or not to BoxA (also transfers the call to boxA's ivr) 4. Box A shall play message to User whether this process is successful or not. And then call shall be hanged up. My work till date is 1. setup the two freeswitch ivr, box a and box b. 2. I wrote .net code to handle the individual role. i.e. to ask user id and pin 3. I facing the problem in forwarding a call from boxA to boxB along with the userID Please suggest the best way to implement it. I hope I have explained the scenario properly. Thanks & Regards, Jigs.

I am sorry to send this message again. But i dont see my mails in archive so I changed membership settings and tried to send it again. Thanks. I also tried session.Execute ("originate",[user_id=123456]sofia/internal/5111@BoxB) In this case it creates a new Channel successfully but I don't see any call request to BoxB; It just creates a new channel successfully and after some time call gets cleared. Please Help me regarding this; i want to know what is the difference between Bridge and Originate; and Also Let me know the best possible scenario to implement the following mentioned scenario. V8 Threads
by Jan Berger 07 Jul '10

07 Jul '10

V8 multithread very nicely. I threw up 1000 threads only, but it runs very nicely and memory usage is very low. Took me a while to understand their threading model and it will take me some experiments to tune it properly. Threads are a budget, so I will grab something like 50 threads see if I can use these pooled as I believe I can. Regardless - V8 is absolutely amazing t work with. Jan
