Re: [Freeswitch-dev] mod_radiusclient

if you want it to handle sip registrations the correct way is to connect to the directory interface with the xml hook (see mod_xml_curl) This allows a module to request that it has the first chance to lookup any xml requests ahead of actually looking in the file. If your module was registered and binded to the "directory" section, then when the sip asked for the directory data from xml you can actually do the radius request and populate the reply with our xml api and return it in place of the actual contents of the real xml file. This already can be done with mod_xml_curl which is similar but uses a http connection instead of radius to do the proxy lookups. towards making fh->silence_hits a representation in ms internally w/o changing interface
by David Nicol 25 Jul '07

25 Jul '07

Well the interface is changed slightly -- when fh is getting built by mod_dptools.c arg[3] is parsed by atof instead of atoi The other builders could follow suit; the ones that have an integer # of seconds, I didn't trace where that came from to change it to a float. Also in play_say, the running count of silence hits is in tmp_silence_hits which is (1) less confusing and (2) saves some indirections. The attached patch is submitted to the project without reservation

Codec and Audio Device Sample Rate

I'm a little puzzled. In the portaudio.conf.xml file there is: <param name="sample-rate" value="96000"/> I can only open my device in 96kHz, so when I change this value, it manages to open my audio device, but then it complains that it also wants a codec for 96kHz: freeswitch@quasar> 2007-07-14 03:03:23 [NOTICE] switch_channel.c:385 switch_channel_set_name() New Chan PortAudio/con(a)sip.esben-stien.name [789295e0-d279-4dbd-8007-19d0795b1488] 2007-07-14 03:03:23 [WARNING] switch_core_codec.c:159 switch_core_codec_init() Codec L16 Exists but not at the desired implementation. 96000hz 20ms 2007-07-14 03:03:23 [ERR] mod_portaudio.c:1210 engage_device() Can't load codec? 2007-07-14 03:03:23 [NOTICE] mod_portaudio.c:1625 place_call() Close Channel PortAudio/con(a)sip.esben-stien.name [CS_NEW] There is supposed to be one sample rate for the device and one for the codec, but what it does now, is use one for both the codec and the audio device, which is wrong. Using Unicode SIP MESSAGE
by Ron McLeod 13 Jul '07

13 Jul '07

Has anyone on the list looked at text messaging to SIP UA using Unicode rather than ASCII? I have an application that will interface FreeSWITCH to a Chinese PBX using SIP and will require text messaging support. The PBX currently does not support the MESSAGE method so there is some flexibility in the details of the interface, but I would like to keep it as interoperable as possible. It seems like UTF-8 encoding is commonly used with SMTP and HTTP -- I assume that would follow for SIP as well. It should be as simple as this: MESSAGE sip:9997252000@192.168.100.133:5060 SIP/2.0 Via: SIP/2.0/UDP 192.168.100.2:5060;rport;branch=z9hG4bK890156501 From: "Dispatcher" <sip:9990000000@192.168.100.2:5060>;tag=1425782651 To: <sip:9997252000@192.168.100.133:5060> Call-ID: 2285408318@192.168.100.2:5060 CSeq: 1000 MESSAGE Max-Forwards: 70 User-Agent: Message Dispatch System Content-Type: text/plain; charset=UTF-8 Content-Length: 9 æ¥æ¬èª Thanks, Ron

Re: [Freeswitch-dev] OpenZAP status?
by Anthony Minessale 06 Jul '07

06 Jul '07

I am not sure what you mean by tool. I suppose I have not made a formal explanation beyond my recent speech at ClueCon so I'll summarize what we are talking about here. Last week I announced the debut of a new TDM project called OpenZAP. The project implements a TDM abstraction library to provide an interface to TDM hardware as well as various signaling for T1/E1 interfaces. So far we have analog (only tested in US so far but we are working on UK too) and q.931 PRI signaling but we should be able to add more things like RBS as time progresses. The library is licensed BSD and thus is usable by most any existing telephony software projects without any pesky licensing concerns. The hardware support thus far includes zaptel and native sangoma tdm api. The existing codebase includes mod_openzap for FreeSWITCH that is currently functional with analog and euro or dms100 PRI. This project is brand new. The first code was written to the disk on May 21'st 2007 and there is pretty much no documentation yet. We are announcing it to give anyone with Digium or Sangoma analog or T1/E1 cards a chance to check it out, do some testing and contribute to the project and help make it a success. The code is located at: http://svn.openzap.org/svn/openzap/trunk The fisheye browser is here: http://fisheye.freeswitch.org/browse/OpenZAP Basic doxyegn with no comments yet: http://www.freeswitch.org/eg/openzap/ In the next few weeks we will set up more formal resources, a website etc. In the mean time visit us on irc or email your questions here.
