You should not need anything special, just zaptel loaded with any plugin tor2, whatever. Any variation of the driver should be fine since zaptel is fairly generic. Our goal here is to pick up where this left off and keep the important functionality in the driver and the rest in user space. Eventually we hope to make our own platform-agnostic driver interface. Sweet! I can’t wait. So, to answer your question, yes that should be fine. We have a tor2 we tested it with last week at ClueCon as a matter of fact. Excellent. Last question (hopefully): did you need a special tor2.c for the Tormenta2 test? I just want to make sure I get my files straight… J -MC _______________________________________________ Freeswitch-dev mailing list Freeswitch-dev(a)lists.freeswitch.org http://lists.freeswitch.org/mailman/listinfo/freeswitch-dev UNSUBSCRIBE:http://lists.freeswitch.org/mailman/options/freeswitch-dev http://www.freeswitch.org ____________________________________________________________________________________ Need a vacation? OpenZAP should work with the latest sangoma TDM API as well as any zaptel dating back to when there was only tormenata 2. For those who do not know, Zaptel is actually a decendant of the original public domain tormenta driver made by Jim Dixon in 2000. http://www.zapatatelephony.org/zap.c http://www.zapatatelephony.org/zap.h Our goal here is to pick up where this left off and keep the important functionality in the driver and the rest in user space. Eventually we hope to make our own platform-agnostic driver interface. We only use zaptel as a device via the socket opened on the operating system to access the low level features such as open close read write and the rest of the functionality is implemented in our own user space layer. So, to answer your question, yes that should be fine. We have a tor2 we tested it with last week at ClueCon as a matter of fact. Guys, I was getting caught up on things last night and I noticed Anthony’s posts about OpenZAP. I was curious to know the status of the project. I see that there is a need for testers. I might be able to help but I probably need some guidance with the hardware side of things. I have two Tormenta2 clone PCI cards from PhoneEQ, (www.pbxhardware.com) designated T400P. These cards are slightly improved versions of the Tor2 card, but they are also slightly different. (I believe that the original Tor2 spec calls for the Dallas Semiconductor DS21Q352 T1/E1/J1 framer chip whereas the T400P card uses the DS21Q55 framer.) The designer, Marcin Pycko, has produced modified versions of the Zaptel drivers: http://t400p.pbxhardware.com/driver/ . The only difference between the stock Zaptel driver and the modified one is in tor2.c. I printed them out and compared them line-by-line to get an idea of what was different. Anyway, the modified driver works extremely well with Asterisk. I’ve used it with PRI circuits from multiple vendors, and I’ve also done an interface to my legacy NEC PBX. (http://voip-info.org/wiki/index.php?page=Asterisk+NEAX2400+LineSide) Disclaimer: I’m an experienced PBX guy but I am by no means a C/C++ programmer. I am, at best, a journeyman. That’s my background. My question is this: is there any way I can use my existing T400P cards and help with the OpenZAP testing? Thanks! -Michael _______________________________________________ Freeswitch-dev mailing list Freeswitch-dev(a)lists.freeswitch.org http://lists.freeswitch.org/mailman/listinfo/freeswitch-dev UNSUBSCRIBE:http://lists.freeswitch.org/mailman/options/freeswitch-dev http://www.freeswitch.org ____________________________________________________________________________________ Need a vacation?
