Removal of RTP Inband DTMF Digits and forwarding DTMF digits via SIP INFO on outbound profile
by Adil Mafzool Zaka 01 Jul '15

01 Jul '15

Hi I want to know if it is possible with any configuration to remove RTP inband DTMF digits when calling in between different sip profiles in freeswitch with the outbound profile configured to Send DMTF digits via SIP INFO message. As I have not able to locate it. In case it is not available as config, has anybody got pointers that which freeswitch code I need to change. I am using version 1.2.23 Unfortunately, Asterisk provides the mechanism but I dont want to use it. Thanks RegardsMuhammad Zaka

Avoid Segfault
by Dave Greeko 30 Jun '15

30 Jun '15

Dear Dev-team,I'm so happy with how FreeSWITCH is built and thanks for such an awesome project. I'm in the process of building an FS module and I'm trying to understand how to avoid a potential thread synchronization issue(due to my logic). I have a global hash table that encapsulates business logic(lots of business data about caller and callee.) Leg A's UUID will be used as a key in the hash table that holds data fetched from database. Once the call is disconnected, a cleanup will take place during reporting state handler callback on Leg A which I'm thinking it will be called after hangup state. Now, if Leg B happens to take long time to process its database logic, Leg A might be gone before leg B is finished and at this point Leg B will segfault because the data it needs from the hash table are cleaned by Leg A reporting/hangup state handler. Cloning the data structure on both channels will fix this issue but will not be efficient, in addition having a mutex lock may not work because a thread might die holding a lock and this might be a potential FS core segfault. Any suggestion is very much appreciated. Best Regards,Dave

Video build deps for CentOS 6
by Matteo 25 Jun '15

25 Jun '15

Hi, since we need to stick with CentOS 6, but also want to keep on with new freeswitch features, I've built everything needed to build FS with all video stuff under CentOS 6. Right now, I've a fully working video setup under centos, except for some imagemagick stuff that I'm ironing out. Now, there's some interest in video deps for CentOS 6? if yes, I'll be glad to publish our private repo with everything needed, for x86_64, i686 and SRPMS . Or maybe share everything in order to have an official FS repo. All rpms are built with a private koji instance. Regards, matteo

Re: [Freeswitch-dev] [Freeswitch-users] FreeSWITCH Unstable Repo
by Michael Jerris 23 Jun '15

We are looking for someone to maintain ubuntu ports, but we would want freeswitch to host the actual repos and have them built on our bamboo instance. If you are interested in tweaking what we have for debian to make it work on ubuntu, and assisting us in this process, please contact me off list and we will get you guys moving on this process. We are looking for this for the master branch at this time. This will require some pretty significant testing to get the dependencies right as I know they were a bit out of date compared to jessie. > On Jun 18, 2015, at 11:44 AM, Thomas Quintana <thomas(a)bettervoice.com> wrote: > > Hey Gals/Guys, > > The BetterVoice team already maintains an Ubuntu 14.04 based docker container with the latest stable build @ https://registry.hub.docker.com/u/bettervoice/freeswitch-container <https://registry.hub.docker.com/u/bettervoice/freeswitch-container>. We can certainly provide Ubuntu packages and a repo for stable and unstable with a little help from the FreeSWITCH team to make sure we provide an experience consistent with the current supported distros. > > Best Regards, > > Thomas Quintana > Chief Technology Officer > Phone: 1 (512) 677-6200 > Website: http://www.bettervoice.com <http://www.bettervoice.com/> > > > > On Thu, Jun 18, 2015 at 10:44 AM, Brian West <brian(a)freeswitch.org <mailto:brian@freeswitch.org>> wrote: > If the community steps up and assists on this front we can expand our target platforms to non-x86, ubuntu, and various others... Need help: Detecting silence in an on-going call
by Navin Agarwal 22 Jun '15

22 Jun '15

Hello Everyone, I am working on a FreeSWITCH project where I need to detect some features of an on-going call such as a period of silence, low volume and high volume, and report it to the user on-the-fly. I found a function "is_silence_frame" in "switch_ivr_async.c" which detects if a frame is a silence frame relative to a given threshold. I tried using that but I did not find any difference in the energy levels of frames which were silent and ones in which someone was speaking, so I am not able to use it. Can someone please help me in understanding how this works or if there is any other code or module that I can use to detect silence, low volume and high volume in an on-going call. Basically the idea is to perform some live analysis of a call and the above three are the ones that I could come up with till now. Any pointers here will be really appreciated. Thanks, Navin Agarwal
