Re: [Freeswitch-dev] [Freeswitch-users] Caller ID on Analog Lines
by Muhammad Shahzad 24 Dec '11

I think India uses polarity reversal to indicate start of caller id on PRI line, which i guess is not fully supported by FreeTDM yet. However, you can try the following FreeTDM options, though i am not sure if they will work. <param name="tonegroup" value="in" /> <param name="enable-callerid" value="true" /> <param name="answer-polarity-reverse" value="true" /> You may try to set last parameter to false and test again. Do let us know if it works or not. I am not much familiar with FreeTDM code, nor got the equipment to test, so for those who have, please see below link regarding same problem in Asterisk and how they solved it, https://issues.asterisk.org/print_bug_page.php?bug_id=6683 Hope this helps. Thank you. Managed module similar to mod_skypopen
by Papineni, Suneel 19 Dec '11

19 Dec '11

Hi, I want to write a managed module in c# which is similar to mod_skypopen module. In fact I am trying to understand mod_skypopen module and exploring the possibilities of writing it as a managed module in C# with the options of interfaces and skype users and other features. This is for my understanding and learning purposes about managed modules. Could someone please guide me how to add interfaces and handle calls that comes to these interfaces in managed code. Note: I looked into the examples that are provided at http://wiki.freeswitch.org/wiki/Mod_managed and tried to understand the basics. Thanks & Regards Suneel

Hi, We are planning to build a solution using Freeswitch mod_dingaling to do voice chat with Gtalk users. Is it possible to release it commercially? Do we need to get approval or license from Google? Best Regards, Debasish

Re: [Freeswitch-dev] Specs for 1000 channels streaming

I am just using pcmu codec cause that is what my VOIP termination service provides. Also I don't have actual bandwidth benchmark test numbers but it looks like it is about 80 kbps per channel one way which equals 80*2*1000 = 168 Mbps. I like to use sipp for testing it is a little hard to use but it gives you an idea what your servers can handle. As for voice quality it has some very minor skipping around 750-850 then around 1000-1100 it get major fast. So figure out what your server can handle then limit it to that if you need more channels add more freeswitch servers. I've found that when dealing with lots of channels be sure that kernel timer is not changing too much. For more info On Performance check out this page on the wiki http://wiki.freeswitch.org/wiki/Performance_testing_and_configurations Hope this information is helpful Thanks Craig Zimmerman -----Original Message----- From: freeswitch-dev-bounces(a)lists.freeswitch.org [mailto:freeswitch-dev-bounces@lists.freeswitch.org] On Behalf Of freeswitch-dev-request(a)lists.freeswitch.org Sent: Wednesday, December 14, 2011 9:25 PM To: freeswitch-dev(a)lists.freeswitch.org Subject: FreeSWITCH-dev Digest, Vol 66, Issue 9 Send FreeSWITCH-dev mailing list submissions to freeswitch-dev(a)lists.freeswitch.org To subscribe or unsubscribe via the World Wide Web, visit http://lists.freeswitch.org/mailman/listinfo/freeswitch-dev or, via email, send a message with subject or body 'help' to freeswitch-dev-request(a)lists.freeswitch.org You can reach the person managing the list at freeswitch-dev-owner(a)lists.freeswitch.org When replying, please edit your Subject line so it is more specific than "Re: Contents of FreeSWITCH-dev digest..."

I currently have production box that I tested for 1000 conferencing channels. Specs are: CPU: AMD Phenom X6 Hexa Core Processor Speed: 6 Processor Cores, 2.8 GHz (Turbo 3.3 GHz) RAM: 8GB DDR3 Hope this gives you an idea big you need to go. The More CPU & Bandwidth to the server the better! Specs for 1000 channels streaming
by Jeff Ullman 14 Dec '11

14 Dec '11

Hi All, I'm about to buy new server for IVR type application where I might bump up system to use up to 1000 channels to do play/record type IVR application though event socket interface, and minor database lookups. I have been looking around Wiki and other posts but don't see any specific recommendations yet. I'm eyeing at following Dell spec : PowerEdge R610 Dual processor Intel® Xeon® E5606 2.13GHz, 8M Cache 12GB Memory WIll that be enough ? There are many questions - what's real bottleneck ? Is it CPU or memory or FreeSwitch can not utilize SMP, parallel execution etc.. ? I greatly appreciate if anyone can share experience and recommend better solution. - Jeff
