Re: [Freeswitch-dev] Specs for 1000 channels streaming
I am just using pcmu codec cause that is what my VOIP termination service provides. Also I don't have actual bandwidth benchmark test numbers but it looks like it is about 80 kbps per channel one way which equals 80*2*1000 = 168 Mbps. I like to use sipp for testing it is a little hard to use but it gives you an idea what your servers can handle. As for voice quality it has some very minor skipping around 750-850 then around 1000-1100 it get major fast. So figure out what your server can handle then limit it to that if you need more channels add more freeswitch servers. I've found that when dealing with lots of channels be sure that kernel timer is not changing too much.
