[Freeswitch-dev] free sweech problemm
by David Rot 27 Jun '13

27 Jun '13

Dear all We came across the following problem with a Free Switch Avaya telephone exchange: When calls are accepted continuously the software is responding correctly, however, when calls are accepted non-continuously (pauses between calls) then the software stops answering as if the Free Switch doesn't any calls. Only after restarting the Free Switch then calls are being responded as expected again. Does anyone know about this problem and can help us get over this? I attach the conf directory Thank you and regards

[Freeswitch-dev] origin/master's HEAD is segfaulting
by arif hossain 22 Jun '13

22 Jun '13

Hi, I'm on this commit : arif@khost:~/src/freeswitch$ git show HEAD commit f8122e39c51240b99bf07a767afe2f8a698f1486 Now its segfaulting on startup. >From generated core : Program terminated with signal 11, Segmentation fault. #0 0x00007f245cc28df1 in su_casematch (s1=0x7f245cc7fc57 "", s2=0x3000000030 <Address 0x3000000030 out of bounds>) at su_string.c:224 224 unsigned char a = *s1++, b = *s2++; Clearly s2 is wrongly initialized. (gdb) p transports[0] $3 = 0x3000000030 <Address 0x3000000030 out of bounds> (gdb) p transports[1] $4 = 0x7f245c958d00 "`\215\225\\$\177" So transports[0] is the problematic initialization here. Going back further, in libs/sofia-sip/libsofia-sip-ua/nta/nta.c: 2150 char const * const * tports = tports_sip; And here (gdb) ptype tports_sip type = const char * const[5] (gdb) p tports_sip[0] $6 = 0x7f245cc7fc38 "udp" (gdb) p tports[0] $7 = 0x3000000030 <Address 0x3000000030 out of bounds> (gdb) ptype tports_sip type = const char * const[5] (gdb) p tports $11 = (const char * const *) 0x7f245c9589c0 (gdb) p &tports_sip $12 = (const char * const(*)[5]) 0x7f245cebf660 <tports_sip> As it can be seen, tports diverged from initial tports_sip. It has been done in following snippet : 2197 if (strchr(tp, ',')) { 2198 int i; char *t, *tps[9] = {0}; 2199 2200 /* Split tp into transports */ 2201 for (i = 0, t = tp; t && i < 8; i++) { 2202 tps[i] = t; 2203 if ((t = strchr(t, ','))) 2204 *t++ = '\0'; 2205 } 2206 2207 tps[i] = NULL; 2208 tports = (char const * const *)tps; Now : (gdb) p tp $20 = "udp\000tcp\000H\215\225\\$\177\000\000\240\252\354\\".. So above code should parse "udp" in tports[0]. Which is not the case here. I'm assuming this bug has to generated from a more higher level, rather than happened in a file which has not been touched since 2006( I git blamed it). But bt does not have any calls to "non-sofia" stuff. This su_casematch() was called from two threads, 4 Thread 0x7f245eccb700 (LWP 7622) 0x00007f245cc28df1 in su_casematch ( s1=0x7f245cc7fc57 "", s2=0x3000000030 <Address 0x3000000030 out of bounds>) at su_string.c:224 * 1 Thread 0x7f245c959700 (LWP 7623) 0x00007f245cc28df1 in su_casematch ( s1=0x7f245cc7fc57 "", s2=0x3000000030 <Address 0x3000000030 out of bounds>) at su_string.c:224 Both calls to su_casematch seems problematic. Sorry for a long BUGREPORT. Actually i thought i should post my investigation if it helps the devs(After git blaming, i highly suspect that my investigation unearthed nothing , problem generated from elsewhere, which i could not find). I've not started git bisecting. If it helps, i will be happy to do that. -- Cheers arif

[Freeswitch-dev] Odp: Re: [Freeswitch-users] Github and FreeSWITCH

On our wiki there is a section: http://wiki.freeswitch.org/wiki/Git_Tips#Github_Workflow I take this information as a sort of incentive to use this alternative way to publish patches. Perhaps this section should be removed? [Freeswitch-dev] store message thread for handling extra register.
by ThanhTruong 20 Jun '13

20 Jun '13

Hi all, I have small issue when i am trying to handle extra register with another server. Let me explain my idea. First : when xlite(192.168.1.158) send REGISTER message to FS, it will store message (or something like that to recognize thread from xlite, but I dont know exactly which value will be stored in msg1). Then, I will send one REGISTER message to another server (like asterisk (192.168.1.174)), and when asterisk server return(100 first, then 401 include realm, nonce, auth_params), I need to store message thread like the first one (to reused like msg2), then, i will use nua_response to transfer 401 message to xlite(with realm, nonce). Then I can do the same when i get REGISTER message (with password in md5) from xlite and forwarding to asterisk server for authen. So, I have try to store message in to msg_t variable but i get error 500 - Responding to a Non-Existing Request when try to send back 401 with realm, nonce to xlite. I have used this function to store msg to one variable: (in function sofia.c/sofia_event_callback ) if(event == nua_i_register){ msg1 = de->data->e_msg ; switch_log_printf(SWITCH_CHANNEL_LOG, SWITCH_LOG_WARNING, "tnt: done store msg1 into catche \n"); } if (event == nua_r_register){ msg2 = de->data->e_msg ; switch_log_printf(SWITCH_CHANNEL_LOG, SWITCH_LOG_WARNING, "tnt: done store msg2 into catche \n"); } and send back 401 like: case nua_r_register: switch_log_printf(SWITCH_CHANNEL_LOG, SWITCH_LOG_DEBUG, "nua_r_register : process handler ===========>>>>> \n "); if (status == 401 || status == 407){ sip_www_authenticate_t const* www_auth = sip->sip_www_authenticate; char const* scheme = www_auth->au_scheme; const char* realm = msg_params_find( www_auth->au_params, "realm=" ); const char* nonce = msg_params_find( www_auth->au_params, "nonce=" ); char *auth_str; auth_str = switch_mprintf("%s realm=\"%q\", nonce=\"%q\",%s algorithm=MD5, qop=\"auth\"", scheme,realm, nonce," stale=true,"); nua_respond(nh, SIP_401_UNAUTHORIZED, NUTAG_WITH_THIS_MSG(msg2), SIPTAG_WWW_AUTHENTICATE_STR(auth_str), TAG_END()); break; } break; I am new in this and need your help, please suggest or reference some link that i can get it work, thank all in advance. [Freeswitch-dev] FreeSWITCH Weekly News and Notes
by Michael Collins 17 Jun '13

17 Jun '13

Greetings! We are all looking forward to our upcoming conference call<http://wiki.freeswitch.org/wiki/FS_weekly_2013_06_19>for June 19th, because we are releasing the official ClueCon 2013 <http://www.cluecon.com> speaker schedule! Additionally, the FreeSWITCH core developer team will be on the conference call to hang out with us. Let's all be there this Wednesday and pack out the conference call! In addition to FreeSWITCH, the core development team also built the Cudatel Communication Server <http://www.cudatel.com>. On last week's conference call <http://wiki.freeswitch.org/wiki/FS_weekly_2013_06_12> we did a thorough tour of the CudaTel interface and its capabilities. We also talked about how the CudaTel can utilize external call control by utilizing an HTTAPI server. The CudaTel really is a great product and we highly recommend it for those enterprises that need a simple yet powerful IP communications platform. Thanks for your time and we'll talk to everyone on Wednesday! -- Michael S Collins ClueCon Team http://www.cluecon.com 877-7-4ACLUE
