Re: [Freeswitch-docs] Docs Copy Sprint January 2017

Good morning, FreeSWITCH Docs Team! I am just returning home from a long night of fighting Cisco SPA phones that don’t want to provision themselves properly. Many of you are just starting your day in earlier time zones J Today let us concentrate on copying over files from the old wiki to Confluence. We can do the editing, labeling, link correcting, and pretty-fying later. This makes your job much quicker and easier today. Most importantly, immediately before you copy the page over to Confluence, change the page status to “Editing” on the spreadsheet; if you are really quick just change it to “Moved” so that the many other sprinters don’t copy the same page J https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1qsG-kRymvKlNBapnBLw86W130VdbnK6naYa… We have 209 pages in Pending status, so we are getting close to the end. Maybe we finish all of them today? If an old wiki page looks empty or trivial, don’t even bother copying it, just mark it “Request-Delete” and one of the core developers will decide if it needs to be copied over. This can save you even more time! I will be joining the party late. I think the HipChat Docs channel might be the best if everybody has that since it has memory, unlike irc. Maybe if there is interest we can take over the Friday free-for-all on the 888 conference room J Thank you very much! --- Bote FreeSWITCH Docs Janitor <http://freeswitch.org/confluence> http://freeswitch.org/confluence From: freeswitch-docs-bounces(a)lists.freeswitch.org [mailto:freeswitch-docs-bounces@lists.freeswitch.org] On Behalf Of Areski Sent: Thursday, 05 January, 2017 04:51 To: FreeSWITCH Docs Team Subject: Re: [Freeswitch-docs] Docs Sprint January 2017 You can count on me :) Happy New year! Many thanks to Ítalo and his team for the massive sprint they surprised me with today. They started with 456 pages pending action and moved 246 of them to Confluence, which leaves a mere 210 pages pending on the old wiki. THANK YOU ALL! Also, it is good to check if the page has already moved to Confluence. We moved a lot of pages before Areski developed the spreadsheet to track wiki pages, so check first to save some work and duplication. I have added Chris to the Confluence-editors group, so that part is done. Like Chris, I would have no idea what to type since I don’t know what the pingpong settings do L Chris, if you also wish to help copying pages over from the old wiki to Confluence shoot me an e-mail with an address that can be added to give permission to edit the Google spreadsheet on which we track pages moved. It prefers gmail addresses naturally, but I think it works with other domains as well. [Freeswitch-docs] A new year, a new sprint
by Bote Man 15 Dec '16

15 Dec '16

I will resume work on the huge FreeSWITCH Documentation project now that I have attended to some personal matters. My apologies for leaving things hanging in the breeze. I hope to hold more sprints after the New Year turns so please offer your suggestions of the best days and times for you to help. We are grateful for however much you can contribute. I think we should have a short sprint every 2 weeks or even every week only to copy over the remaining pages from the old wiki to the new Confluence documentation platform. We can keep each sprint short so it does not take a lot of time from your work day or personal time while still getting pages moved over. That is the most important task right now. Then after all the pages are moved from the old wiki to Confluence we can have mini-sprints to fix the internal links on each page to point to Confluence where they currently point to the old wiki. I think a smart programmer can develop a simple script to scan all Confluence pages to build a list of all those wiki links so that they can be found and changed quickly. Then Ken Rice will be very happy to kill the old wiki machine forever J If you have recently joined the FS Docs team, please contact me or an existing Docs team member to give you access to the Wiki Page Tracker spreadsheet on Google Docs. That is where you tell the team which pages you have moved so that we do not duplicate effort. I just learned that any of the existing spreadsheet editors can add new editors, not just the owner J I think it works best if you use a Gmail address for that, but there are others on the team who use their business domains so it is possible. Happy Holidays to those who celebrate! --- Bote FreeSWITCH Docs Janitor http://freeswitch.org/confluence

The Sofia settings of tcp-pingpong and tcp-ping2pong aren't documented other than to indicate that they exist. It would be helpful to know what they do, if anything.
