[Freeswitch-docs] Channel variables page
by Stanislav Sinyagin 29 Jan '18

29 Jan '18

hi, the channel variables page is getting extremely long and difficult to view and to edit. Maybe it makes sense to split it by modules? Whenever I need to check some variable, I search it in google and then click on the old wiki page :-)

[Freeswitch-docs] Access to Confluence Wiki
by M Yudkowsky 02 Jan '18

02 Jan '18

Comrades! I'd like access for user "moshe" to the Confluence wiki in order to edit the fail2ban description page. Topics to update: * Use of firewalld, if that's your choice, to enable SIP access for a PBX that expects calls on port 5060. The firewalld standard does not work and I'm likely to submit a pull request to firewalld for a "sip-pbx" service. * Creating log files for fail2ban to scan using cdr_csv; in particular, scanning for failed attempts to spoof FS using common INVITE tactics * Correct usage of fail2ban's recidive module (I may submit a pull request to fail2ban). -- Moshe Yudkowsky Disaggregate Corporation 2952 W Fargo Chicago, IL 60645 USA +1 773 764 8727 speech(a)pobox.com http://www.Disaggregate.com http://www.PebbleAndAvalanche.com

[Freeswitch-docs] Freeswitch config files and items
by Thomas Reisinger 20 Dec '17

Hi, Where do I find a detailed documentation of all the configuration options per config file? For example the config file: xml_rpc.conf.xml I would like to limit the service to run not on ALL interfaces, instead it should listen/bind only to em0 Cheers, Thomas Reisinger

[Freeswitch-docs] Major Wiki change for macOS Xcode/CLT requirements
by Mario 12 Dec '17

12 Dec '17

Changed: No longer references Xcode releases: https://freeswitch.org/confluence/display/FREESWITCH/macOS+Installation <https://freeswitch.org/confluence/display/FREESWITCH/macOS+Installation> Removal of Xcode installation instructions, and add CLT download comments in Homebrew section: https://freeswitch.org/confluence/display/FREESWITCH/macOS+Manual+Installat… <https://freeswitch.org/confluence/display/FREESWITCH/macOS+Manual+Installat…> Changed Xcode references, and uploaded the latest macFI https://freeswitch.org/confluence/display/FREESWITCH/macOS+macFI+Installati… <https://freeswitch.org/confluence/display/FREESWITCH/macOS+macFI+Installati…> FYI for macOS folks running FreeSWITCH: Homebrew made major changes in the last few weeks that affect the installation instructions for FreeSwitch on macOS. It also affects Homebrew update/upgrade functions. I updated 3 pages of the macOS wiki and the MacOS FreeSwitch Installer, macFI. A brief summary: Homebrew always required the full Xcode instead of the standalone Apple Command Line Tools. That is now the opposite… When Apple updated Xcode it didn’t always provide the correct version of CLT for the previous macOS. For instance, 10.13 and 10.12 use Xcode 9.2, but 9.2 may install the CLT for 10.13 on 10.12 meaning the CLT was for building 10.13 apps. Homebrew would detect this as a showstopper. This has happened a couple of times, and that’s why we sometimes had to use an older Xcode for a macOS that was not the latest to build FreeSwitch. This didn’t just affect FreeSwitch but some Homebrew formulas. So…. The Homebrew folks decided to fix this once and for all: Now, when Homebrew is installed, it looks for the correct CLT. If the latest Xcode (9.2) is already installed on the latest macOS (10.13), nothing needs to happen because the CLT that is part of Xcode is already installed and correct. If Homebrew does not detect the CLT, it will locate them online, download and install the correct version for the macOS running! The big benefit is that if you don’t need Xcode you will save about 4GB of space, and of course it takes a lot less time installing FreeSwitch from scratch. Again, the wiki and macFI are updated, I tested them on 10.13, 10.12, 10.11, and 10.10. Mario G
