[Freeswitch-docs] I'd like to help
by Jim Lynch 01 Sep '14

01 Sep '14

I've found a few errors on the confluence pages I'd like to help with. I logged in with my jira account but I don't have edit permission. Is the procedure for updating confluence documented anywhere. I see the spreadsheet at google docs. Thanks, Jim. (jira jimgvo)

[Freeswitch-docs] Third party application
by Areski 29 Aug '14

29 Aug '14

Hi DocTeam, In confluence, we haven't created a location where to keep documentation on 3rd party application, for example: https://wiki.freeswitch.org/wiki/VoIPmonitor https://wiki.freeswitch.org/wiki/Billing_Solutions Any ideas where to put those? What about a new top menu section called "FS Addons" or "FreeSWITCH solutions" ? Then under this top section, we could have sub sections "Billing", "Monitoring", "Broadcasting", "PBX", "IVR", etc...? Thoughts? -- Kind regards, /Areski

[Freeswitch-docs] Assistance from the docs team
by Ken Rice 29 Aug '14

29 Aug '14

Hey guys, can one of you help me out with a little process doc? We are trying to encourage people to use Pull Requests for Patches and there seems to be a little confusion on how to do this. Can someone write up this process nicely and post it on Confluence? Here¹s the steps Login in to Stash Go to Repo you want to add a patch to Click the Fork Button. In the PopUp, name your fork (it will default to FreeSWITCH, but you may want to name it something more descriptive. Example freeswitch-FS-1234 where FS-1234 is the name of a jira you are addressing) This will bring you to your fork repo. Go to the ³Settings² link on the menu bar, go to ³Repository² link under permissions on the left verticle menu Check the enable box under Public Access. Click Save Clone this repo, commit your patches, and push this repo back to stash. (standard GIT clone, commit, push workflow) Return to Stash, Go to the Main FreeSWITCH Repo, and click ³Pull Request² Button Upper right In the box on upper left, select your fork repo and branch that contains the new commits. Make sure that the FreeSWITCH/freeswitch repo is selected in the upper right box. Edit the Title (it will default to the branch name) Edit the Description (if there is a matching Jira Please Reference the Jira Ticket ID at the top of the description. The description will auto populate with commit messages from commits on the branch not already in FreeSWITCH master repo) Click Create Pull Request. If you have not received feedback on your Pull Request by the regular Thursday Bug Hunt/Patch Review conference call, Call in to the bridge at 2PM US Central Time (1900 GMT) and ask to have your patch reviewed. Documenter, Please reference the Confluence page for how to join the conf calls. [Freeswitch-docs] Spreadsheet Current Status
by Areski 29 Aug '14

29 Aug '14

Hi, Here on the spreadsheet general info: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1qsG-kRymvKlNBapnBLw86W130VdbnK6naYa… TOTAL PAGES PENDING PAGESMOVE PAGES COMPLETE PAGES 22541796 35 72 REQUEST DELETE PAGES DELETE PAGESDUPLICATE PAGES 10 29935 You will notice that there is tons of "pending pages", but thankfully a lot of them have been moved already, the spreadsheet has been introduced after a lot of the work was done by Bote, Mario and few others... So please cross check that a page is not already created on confluence when you move one and if it already exists please mark the page status as "Move" or "Complete". Let's get this pending page number down :) -- Kind regards, /Areski ---- Arezqui Belaid, <areski(a)gmail.com> Founder at Star2Billing (www.star2billing.com) Tel: +34650784355 Twitter: http://twitter.com/areskib LinkedIn: http://www.linkedin.com/in/areski

[Freeswitch-docs] modules tag
by Areski 29 Aug '14

29 Aug '14

What do you think about removing modules tag on : - https://confluence.freeswitch.org/display/FREESWITCH/Ruby+dialplan+example - https://confluence.freeswitch.org/display/FREESWITCH/mod_xml_curl+Ruby+dire… - https://confluence.freeswitch.org/display/FREESWITCH/mod_xml_curl+C+sharp+e… It will avoid displaying them here: https://confluence.freeswitch.org/display/FREESWITCH/Modules Which is probably not what we want. -- Kind regards, /Areski ---- Arezqui Belaid, <areski(a)gmail.com> Founder at Star2Billing (www.star2billing.com) Tel: +34650784355 Twitter: http://twitter.com/areskib LinkedIn: http://www.linkedin.com/in/areski

[Freeswitch-docs] mod_echolink
by Areski 27 Aug '14

27 Aug '14

It's always nice to see there is a good sense of humour in the FS community :) ""This module is under classified development at a top secret undisclosed location"" https://wiki.freeswitch.org/wiki/Mod_echolink There is also: https://wiki.freeswitch.org/wiki/Echolink_protocol My guess is that both pages should be deleted, gith ?

[Freeswitch-docs] let's erase old wiki pages
by Giovanni Maruzzelli 27 Aug '14

27 Aug '14

I believe the best would be to erase each and any page that has been moved, and put instead a "this page is now at: confluence.freeswitch.org/display/xxxx" If we leave the page in wiki, people will use the one in wiki, and will just hate us :). The most important pages have been moved, btw, so more and more people will go to confluence directly. -giovanni Sincerely, Giovanni Maruzzelli Cell : +39-347-2665618

[Freeswitch-docs] Confluence is too slow. Add cpu/ram/disk ?
by Giovanni Maruzzelli 27 Aug '14

27 Aug '14

At least from Europe confluence is really too slow to be used as a work tool. You need to be able to browse it, edit it, go from page to page, use search, etc. Slow as it is, really is not so usable. You can just look at one page, but after the first one, you get tired of waiting. Probably there is a bottleneck of some sort... Maybe adding cpu/ram? Or is trashing the disk? -giovanni Sincerely, Giovanni Maruzzelli Cell : +39-347-2665618
