[Freeswitch-docs] Channel variables page
by Stanislav Sinyagin 29 Jan '18

29 Jan '18

hi, the channel variables page is getting extremely long and difficult to view and to edit. Maybe it makes sense to split it by modules? Whenever I need to check some variable, I search it in google and then click on the old wiki page :-)

[Freeswitch-docs] better documentation
by Mundkowsky, Robert 28 Dec '15

Hi, It is very difficult to use Freeswitch, because the documentation is very difficult to use. If the documentation was better you would have a lot more users. For example, in https://wiki.freeswitch.org/wiki/Sofia_Configuration_Files , I can read the whole page and I still do not understand fundamental things like: 1) What is a domain? 2) What is a profile? 3) What is a gateway? 4) How is a gateway different than a normal SIP end point? Simple definitions of key ideas and a structured top down descript would help a lot. And there is a lot of useless statements that one has to read through that does not help. For example, "The best thing to do is take a look at these things from a step back." Also it is common to explain what something is not, rather than explaining what it is first. Folks, Any special reason for keeping this page? https://freeswitch.org/confluence/display/FREESWITCH/Conference Looks like we're pointing it to mod_conference and it only contains examples, we can concentrate this in the mod_conference page. -- Ítalo Rossi

[Freeswitch-docs] Free Switch with Dialler / Contact center suite and Billing system
by Gari C 10 Jul '15

10 Jul '15

Hi all, Have been going through free switch wiki and must say excellent product and on top open source. I am new to open source and looking to setup Hosted Freeswitch with Dialer / Contact Center Suite and Billing system. Looking at the wiki I can see there are fair few GUI / Dialler /Contact Center Suite availabel and there are two billing systems. However what is not clear is that which systems are compatible with billing systems and also no integration documents. I will really appreciate if any body can share some architecture/design docs if available which outline integration of freeswitch. Otherwise is there any use cases of free switch available? Thanks Gari
