[Freeswitch-docs] Hola.
by Brandon Armstead 10 Sep '14

Hello All, Just wanted to shoot over a quick email and introduce myself. I've been primarily involved with Ser/OpenSER/Kamailio/Asterisk and finally took the plunge into Freeswitch a couple years ago. I've been working with VoIP almost 9 years now and look forward to helping out the Freeswitch community whenever/wherever I can be of assistance. I'm the kind of guy who likes to push the envelope so I always come across interesting scenarios. I've currently been involved in the ongoing development of a hosted based PBX platform primarily utilizing Freeswitch. Looking forward to working with and learning with everyone. Cheers. Sincerely, Brandon Armstead

[Freeswitch-docs] Fwd: [Freeswitch-users] play sounds files from dynamic string

A good target to transfer to confluence. ---------- Forwarded message ---------- From: Michael Collins <msc(a)freeswitch.org> Date: Sat, Sep 6, 2014 at 1:20 PM Subject: Re: [Freeswitch-users] play sounds files from dynamic string To: FreeSWITCH Users Help <freeswitch-users(a)lists.freeswitch.org> Are these files stored on the hard disk? If so you could use the technique described here: https://wiki.freeswitch.org/wiki/Mod_file_string If they are stored remotely then you might pursue this option: https://wiki.freeswitch.org/wiki/Misc._Dialplan_Tools_playback#Playback_fro… -MC On Fri, Sep 5, 2014 at 8:17 AM, matanya cohen <matanya(a)012.net.il> wrote: > I got string from webservice inside Dialplan. > > This string contain list files with come as separator. > > I need to play them? > > > > Matanya > > _________________________________________________________________________ > Professional FreeSWITCH Consulting Services: > consulting(a)freeswitch.org > http://www.freeswitchsolutions.com > > Official FreeSWITCH Sites > http://www.freeswitch.org > http://confluence.freeswitch.org > http://www.cluecon.com > > FreeSWITCH-powered IP PBX: The CudaTel Communication Server > http://www.cudatel.com > > FreeSWITCH-users mailing list > FreeSWITCH-users(a)lists.freeswitch.org > http://lists.freeswitch.org/mailman/listinfo/freeswitch-users > UNSUBSCRIBE:http://lists.freeswitch.org/mailman/options/freeswitch-users > http://www.freeswitch.org > _________________________________________________________________________ Professional FreeSWITCH Consulting Services: consulting(a)freeswitch.org http://www.freeswitchsolutions.com Official FreeSWITCH Sites http://www.freeswitch.org http://confluence.freeswitch.org http://www.cluecon.com FreeSWITCH-powered IP PBX: The CudaTel Communication Server http://www.cudatel.com FreeSWITCH-users mailing list FreeSWITCH-users(a)lists.freeswitch.org http://lists.freeswitch.org/mailman/listinfo/freeswitch-users UNSUBSCRIBE:http://lists.freeswitch.org/mailman/options/freeswitch-users http://www.freeswitch.org -- *Brian West* brian(a)freeswitch.org *Twitter: @FreeSWITCH , @briankwest* http://www.freeswitchbook.com http://www.freeswitchcookbook.com *T:*+19184209001 | *F:*+19184209002 | *M:*+1918424WEST (9378) *iNUM:*+883 5100 1420 9001 | *ISN:*410*543 | *Skype:*briankwest

[Freeswitch-docs] some documentation regarding FS-6773
by Russell Treleaven 04 Sep '14

04 Sep '14

*Here is some draft verbiage.* *Could someone from the docs team please polish this and add it to confluence?* Freeswitch has long used a common parent directory for all its files typically "/usr/local/freeswitch". A global variable $${base_dir} exists that configuration files have used to define paths relative to this common parent. Freeswitch installs from Debian and RPM packages do not install files relative to a common parent making $${base_dir} irrelevant. Since 2014-09-04 Freeswitch exposes discrete directory variables. The example configuration files have been changed to use these new variables instead of $${base_dir} If you build from source these variables are automatically configured but can also be set explicitly via the ./configure script. Whether you build from source or install from a distribution package these variables can be overridden via arguments to the "freeswitch" executable. Compatibility is expected because ${base_dir} has not changed. To see the available configuration options "./configure -h". To see the available runtime options "./freeswitch -h". To see the values of the directory variables "./fs_cli -x global_getvar". Sincerely, Russell Treleaven

[Freeswitch-docs] I'd like to help
by Jim Lynch 01 Sep '14

I've found a few errors on the confluence pages I'd like to help with. I logged in with my jira account but I don't have edit permission. Is the procedure for updating confluence documented anywhere. I see the spreadsheet at google docs. Thanks, Jim. (jira jimgvo)

[Freeswitch-docs] Third party application
by Areski 29 Aug '14

29 Aug '14

Hi DocTeam, In confluence, we haven't created a location where to keep documentation on 3rd party application, for example: https://wiki.freeswitch.org/wiki/VoIPmonitor https://wiki.freeswitch.org/wiki/Billing_Solutions Any ideas where to put those? What about a new top menu section called "FS Addons" or "FreeSWITCH solutions" ? Then under this top section, we could have sub sections "Billing", "Monitoring", "Broadcasting", "PBX", "IVR", etc...? Thoughts? -- Kind regards, /Areski

[Freeswitch-docs] Assistance from the docs team
by Ken Rice 29 Aug '14

29 Aug '14

Hey guys, can one of you help me out with a little process doc? We are trying to encourage people to use Pull Requests for Patches and there seems to be a little confusion on how to do this. Can someone write up this process nicely and post it on Confluence? Here¹s the steps Login in to Stash Go to Repo you want to add a patch to Click the Fork Button. In the PopUp, name your fork (it will default to FreeSWITCH, but you may want to name it something more descriptive. Example freeswitch-FS-1234 where FS-1234 is the name of a jira you are addressing) This will bring you to your fork repo. Go to the ³Settings² link on the menu bar, go to ³Repository² link under permissions on the left verticle menu Check the enable box under Public Access. Click Save Clone this repo, commit your patches, and push this repo back to stash. (standard GIT clone, commit, push workflow) Return to Stash, Go to the Main FreeSWITCH Repo, and click ³Pull Request² Button Upper right In the box on upper left, select your fork repo and branch that contains the new commits. Make sure that the FreeSWITCH/freeswitch repo is selected in the upper right box. Edit the Title (it will default to the branch name) Edit the Description (if there is a matching Jira Please Reference the Jira Ticket ID at the top of the description. The description will auto populate with commit messages from commits on the branch not already in FreeSWITCH master repo) Click Create Pull Request. If you have not received feedback on your Pull Request by the regular Thursday Bug Hunt/Patch Review conference call, Call in to the bridge at 2PM US Central Time (1900 GMT) and ask to have your patch reviewed. Documenter, Please reference the Confluence page for how to join the conf calls.
