Re: [Freeswitch-dev] any plan to upgrade to Sofia-SIP 1.12.11 ?

If this is an actual bug, it’s probably within FreeSWITCH itself. Please read instructions on the wiki for how to report problems, and file a Jira. /Peter Från: freeswitch-dev-bounces(a)lists.freeswitch.org [mailto:freeswitch-dev-bounces@lists.freeswitch.org] För Xijing Dai Skickat: den 5 mars 2013 11:19 Till: freeswitch-dev(a)lists.freeswitch.org Ämne: Re: [Freeswitch-dev] any plan to upgrade to Sofia-SIP 1.12.11 ? I had a very random sip error in the freeswitch, and I want to try sofia-sip 1.12.11 to see if it's fixed there, but there are a few build errors。 Is there any race condition chance inside mod_sofia? We make a few calls from the same softphone simultaneously, it includes pause/resume/terminate on any call at any time. The outbound endpoint is going though loopback inside freeswitch. Sometimes, the paused inbound call won't be able to resume, and after some deep tracing inside freeswitch, it seems to me that the sip message for resuming call is handled on outbound non-loopback channel. And I used wireshark to catch the packets, it shows that the call is in trying stage. This happens very randomly. Do you guys have any idea? They're currently working towards the next stable 1.2 release, after which they plan to create a new 1.4 branch. 1.2 will continue to be 'stable' while in 1.4 they will start doing major updates to the libraries. That's likely to introduce a period of instability in 1.4 that you won't have if you remain on 1.2, the price for running on the bleeding edge. Development Info
by Emil Berg 04 Mar '13

04 Mar '13

Hello, I'm new to freewitch and I would like to develop an endpoint. Is there any book / tutorial / other info about development in Freeswitch? I couldn't find any info on the internet, but there are relevant courses, which take place once a year, so there must be some presntations / other documents. I'll be glad if someone can tell me where to download / buy the books or documents. Thanks, Emil.

Friday Free For All Topic: GSoC 2013
by Michael Collins 28 Feb '13

28 Feb '13

Hey all! We thought that maybe a good idea for a discussion topic for tomorrow's Friday Free For All (F3A) would be potential projects that FreeSWITCH/OSTAG could sponsor as a mentoring organization. Please bring your fresh ideas and we'll talk about them! Thanks! -- Michael S Collins Twitter: @mercutioviz http://www.FreeSWITCH.org http://www.ClueCon.com http://www.OSTAG.org

FreeSWITCH Weekly News and Notes
by Michael Collins 26 Feb '13

26 Feb '13

Greetings! First item in the news today is a happy report from long-time FreeSWITCH user Henry Gavin. Henry runs a company in the U.K. called SureVoIP<http://www.surevoip.co.uk>. He is pleased to report that "thanks to FreeSWITCH and FusionPBX" his company is once again a finalist for the annual ITSPA awards<http://www.surevoip.co.uk/blog/2013/02/25/surevoip-and-the-surevoip-api-fin…>. Congrats to Henry for leveraging FreeSWITCH in a successful business endeavor. Another annual event is the Google Summer of Code<http://www.google-melange.com/gsoc/homepage/google/gsoc2013>(GSoC). FreeSWITCH will once again apply as a mentoring organization. Please start thinking of project ideas that we can include in our organization's application. Applications will be submitted starting March 18 and no later than March 29. Ken Rice and I will be coordinating this process. Stay tuned for more details. On last week's conference call<http://wiki.freeswitch.org/wiki/FS_weekly_2013_02_20>we did a nice tour of the CudaTel <http://www.cudatel.com> Communication Server. In the coming weeks we will have more presentations for GUI front-ends that community members have built. On this week's conference call<http://wiki.freeswitch.org/wiki/FS_weekly_2013_02_27>we will have Ken Rice give us an update on his new project: SwitchPi <http://switchpi.org>. If you like DIY projects then you'll appreciate what Ken has done with integrating the Raspberry Pi with FreeSWITCH and some other items to create something new. We look forward to seeing it in action. Don't forget about the FreeSWITCH HA discussion on Tuesday evening at 8PM EST. Last week's discussion was very fruitful. Eliot Gable gave us all a lot of information about the different approaches that he can take for building mod_ha_cluster <http://wiki.freeswitch.org/wiki/Mod_ha_cluster>. We look forward to his report on the potential of using OpenMPI<http://www.open-mpi.org/>. For those who can't make it to the HA discussion please join weekly conference call on Wednesday where we will have a brief recap of the HA call. In ClueCon <http://www.cluecon.com>news we have uploaded two new videos: * What's new in sipXecs 4.6 <http://youtu.be/mz14UqXRQDU> - Douglas Hubler * Challenges and Opportunities in Open Source VoIP<http://youtu.be/QnDYE-DfjgU>- Travis Cross Stay tuned for more ClueCon 2012 videos and ClueCon 2013 announcements. Have a great week and we look forward to talking to you on Wednesday. -- Michael S Collins ClueCon Team http://www.cluecon.com 877-7-4ACLUE

Q: anyone built fS (head) on Mountain Lion?
by Lawrence Conroy 25 Feb '13

25 Feb '13

Hi there, quick question: as per subject, has anyone succeeded in building fS on Mac OS X mountain lion with portaudio. At this end it seems to barf trying to make universal binaries (i.e., with ppc code). That isn't going to fly as ppc64 is no longer supported with Mountain Lion's SDK, AFAICT. Yes, on a clean update to ML I did have to pull in and install (m4), autoconf and automake and libtool first. all the best from a puzzled Lawrence

on_init hook and outgoing channels
by Alex Massover 24 Feb '13

24 Feb '13

Hello, We have services that manage calls via ESL and want to write a custom authorization and billing module. The idea is to catch any call received by FreeSwitch before service gets control on ESL for incoming call and on_init hook works for us. But for outgoing channels (created by 'route' or 'originate' commands over ESL) on_init hook doesn't work. Well the channel hits the hook but already after outgoing INVITE being sent, although channel state goes from CS_NEW->CS_INIT->CS_ROUTING correctly. And I want to authorize the channel before it goes out. Is that a normal behavior or I completely miss something? Is there other way to block an outgoing channel after it's created but before it goes out from a custom module? -- Best Regards, Alex Massover
