[Freeswitch-dev] RFC8108
by vcu.personal 22 Jul '19

22 Jul '19

Hi! Does freeswitch support RFC 8108 (Muttiple Media Streams in an RTP Session)? Or is it supposed to add such support? It is necessary to connect freeswitch with the server of audio or video conferences that work as a Middlebox (see RFC7667, Section 3.7) or SFU. That is, they send audio/video from each participant with different SSRCs in one RTP session. Thanx. -- Best regards, Vlad

[Freeswitch-dev] Question regarding SIP SUBSCRIBE message processing in Freeswitch
by Akshay Patil 01 Jul '19

01 Jul '19

Hi All, I need some help regarding SIP SUBSCRIBE message received on FreeSwitch Server. Following is the Message Sequence event observed: REGISTER ........................................(Received by FS) 401 Unauthorized ….. (Sent by FS) REGISTER ........................................(Received by FS) 200 OK .......................(Sent by FS) SUBSCRIBE ......................................(Received by FS) 489 Bad Event ............(Sent by FS) PUBLISH ..........................................(Received by FS) 489 Bad Event ............(Sent by FS) SUBSCRIBE ......................................(Received by FS) 200 OK ........................(Sent by FS) In above sequence please note that message no. 5 – SIP SUBSCRIBE – and message no. 7 – SIP PUBLISH – have Content-Type as multipart/mixed. For my application purpose, I need to use the info received in these messages and should respond back to client accordingly. Can someone help me to point out exact places where these messages are being processed? Following is the SIP Trace of transaction: freeswitch@shantala-Lenovo-G50-80> recv 883 bytes from udp/[10.196.23.129]:41196 at 14:42:12.589859: [Freeswitch-dev] Question regarding modification of SDP in INVITE generated by FreeSwitch Server
by Akshay Patil 08 Feb '19

08 Feb '19

Hi All, I am currently trying to develop a new module in freeswitch which requires SIP interaction. In this new mod, the primary decision making will be based on the multipart text received in the SIP INVITE message. So far, I am able to do the following: 1. upon receiving SIP INVITE, separate the received multipart text 2. do the required processing and take a decision based on this Now I want to generate a new SIP INVITE (to a different user) having a similar structure (i.e. sending out a new text message to the user along with new parameters in SDP). I was able to generate a SIP INVITE with help of switch_ivr_originate(). I was also able to add the required Multipart Text part in the INVITE. However, I am not sure how to proceed with adding new SDP part.... (In below sample message, I was able to generate everything in Green but nothing in RED) So my question is this, where should I make changes to add to SDP. Any help is appreciated Thanks Akshay Patil P.S.: --azdjBtlKrjBegB325WctViTwT8ZOCf9p Content-Type: application/sdp Content-Length: 407 ... a=fmtp:96 0-16 m=application 4121 UDP MCPTT c=IN IP4 172.23.33.63 a=fmtp:MCPTT mc_queueing;mc_priority=5;mc_granted;mc_implicit_request a=sendrecv --azdjBtlKrjBegB325WctViTwT8ZOCf9p Content-Type: application/vnd.3gpp.mcptt-info+xml Content-Length: 513 <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <mcpttinfo xmlns="urn:3gpp:ns:mcpttInfo:1.0" xmlns:xsi=" http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance"> ... --azdjBtlKrjBegB325WctViTwT8ZOCf9p--

[Freeswitch-dev] Verto communicator client not working on Edge when we use our freeswitch server
by Alejandro Castera 02 Jan '19

02 Jan '19

Dear members, . We can use the verto communicator client to join a conference handled by our own Freeswitch server and using the default 'stun:stun.l.google.com:19302' Google STUN server. . It works on Chrome, Firefox and Opera, on which we can connect ok and get audio+video. . But it does NOT work on Edge. . When using Chrome we can see one of the ICE Candidates DOES have the client public IP. . But when running the client on Edge we do NOT see such candidate. . What it is interesting is that if we don't use our Freeswitch server but the one hosted in cantina.freeswitch.org then the verto client CAN connect ok and we get audio+video (although we noticed that even in this case we still not see the ICE Candidate with the client public IP in the SDP offer). . So my question is if the Freewitch server in cantina.freeswitch.org is doing something "special" to retrieve the client public IP from the signaling messages or something like that. . By the way, we already set the following params in the verto conf: <param name="apply-candidate-acl" value="localnet.auto"/> <param name="apply-candidate-acl" value="wan_v4.auto"/> <param name="apply-candidate-acl" value="rfc1918.auto"/> <param name="apply-candidate-acl" value="any_v4.auto"/> If you can give us any hints it would be much appreciated. Regards, Alex

Build DEB installer on Ubuntu from source
by kaiduan xie 04 Dec '18

Hi, I managed to build, install and run Freeswitch (with some local changes) from source code on Ubuntu, what is the way to build an DEB installer from the source code so that I can install Freeswitch on other Ubuntu box without building/installing from source code? Thanks for help, /Kaiduan

[Freeswitch-dev] Proper FreeSWITCH Debian repos for Jessie/Stretch installs
by Chad Phillips 06 Nov '18

06 Nov '18

I build FreeSWITCH from source for videoconferencing. As I’m updating from 1.6 to 1.8, I’m noticing the custom FreeSWITCH Debian repo arrangement is a bit confusing. At http://files.freeswitch.org/repo/deb/ we currently have: debian-unstable/ 15-Jul-2016 14:26 debian.old/ 16-Apr-2015 13:20 debian/ 07-Sep-2015 22:44 freeswitch-1.4/ 07-Sep-2015 22:44 freeswitch-1.6-testing/ 08-Feb-2017 17:09 freeswitch-1.6/ 28-Sep-2015 15:21 freeswitch-1.8/ 30-Jun-2017 15:18 When building for Jessie, I expected to just include the freeswitch-1.8 repo and ‘apt-get install freeswitch-video-deps-most’, but that fails because that repo has no Jessie distribution built. Then I tried debian-unstable, and that failed due to dependency conflicts. I finally got it working by using both the debian-unstable and freeswitch-1.6 repos with ‘apt-get install freeswitch-video-deps-most’, but this seems incorrect for a FreeSWITCH 1.8 install. Which leads to a couple of questions: - Are we missing a Jessie dist build for the freeswitch-1.8 repo, or is that intended? - What are the correct repo/repos to use when building 1.8 on Jessie? - What are the correct repo/repos to use when building 1.8 on Stretch? - Is ‘freeswitch-video-deps-most’ still the correct meta package?

[Freeswitch-dev] possible bug in CSeq generation logic
by Royce Mitchell III 07 Aug '18

I would be happy to open a ticket for this, but given that I'm a newb when it comes to the source, I'd like some confirmation of what I've found before I do. According to RFC3261 8.1.1.5 "The sequence number value MUST be expressible as a 32-bit unsigned integer and MUST be less than 2**31" I also checked RFC2543 just for fun and similar wording is there. A client just informed me that he is seeing errors in the field where FreeSWITCH is generating CSeq headers with a negative sequence number and those requests are getting rejected by other endpoints. ===================== In digging through the code, I found MASTER/src/mod/endpoints/mod_sofia/sofia_presence.c line 2134 defines a function sofia_presence_get_cseq() which appears to be responsible for creating the sequence value that ends up in the CSeq headers. A cursory glance at this logic leads me to believe that it is definitely capable of creating a sequence number with bit 31 set, which would be in violation of the RFC. I believe a simple fix with little side-effect would be to add the following line right before last_cseq is set ( line 2149 in MASTER ): } } + callsequence &= 0x7FFFFFFF; // RFC3261 8.1.1.5 prohibits bit 31 to be set profile->last_cseq = callsequence; ===================== Another small thing is that FreeSWITCH is generating a negative value in certain scenarios when outputting a CSeq header. This means that the sequence value is improperly being interpreted as a signed integer. This shouldn't matter because the high order bit isn't supposed to be set, but regardless the code is still technically wrong. In MASTER/libs/sofia-sip/libsofia-sip-ua/sip/sip_basic.c I found a definition of sip_cseq_e() which correctly interprets the value as unsigned. There are a few logging examples that are wrong that I found using a simple grep, although these line #'s are probably off because it's from an old checkout. The "CSeq %d" in each of the following probably needs to be a "CSeq %u" nta\sl_utils_log.c:76 "%s%s "URL_FORMAT_STRING" (CSeq %d %s)\n", nta\sl_utils_log.c:100 "%s%03u %s (CSeq %d %s)\n", nta\sl_utils_print.c:69 "%s%s "URL_FORMAT_STRING" (CSeq %d %s)\n", nta\sl_utils_print.c:86 "%s%03u %s (CSeq %d %s)\n", However in MASTER/src/mod/endpoints/mod_sofia/sofia.c I found the following: line 381: -switch_snprintf(sip_cseq, sizeof(sip_cseq), "%d", sip->sip_cseq->cs_seq); +switch_snprintf(sip_cseq, sizeof(sip_cseq), "%u", sip->sip_cseq->cs_seq); line 1707: -switch_snprintf(sip_cseq, sizeof(sip_cseq), "%d", sip->sip_cseq->cs_seq); +switch_snprintf(sip_cseq, sizeof(sip_cseq), "%u", sip->sip_cseq->cs_seq); ===================== Something like the following might also be a consideration, but probably only in 1.8: In MASTER/libs/sofia-sip/libsofia-sip-ua/sip/sip_basic.c line 1288 add something like the following: if ( seq & 0x80000000 ) { SU_DEBUG_1(("%s: CSeq header creation failed - sequence value %u violates RFC3261/8.1.1.5", __func__, seq )); return NULL; } P.S. I'd really like to see at least the first 2 changes proposed above ( callsequence masking and format string fixes ) back-ported to 1.6.
