[Freeswitch-dev] Do not end session when bridge is hung up
by Kenn Leth Hansen 22 Jan '14

22 Jan '14

Hi all, I am trying to build a service using event sockets where i want to present the user with an IVR if the called party is busy. If i bridge caller->callee, upon reception of USER_BUSY both sessions get terminated and the event socket is closing. In my scenario I do not want the session from the caller to FreeSWITCH to be terminated upon USER_BUSY when bridging but instead answer the call within FreeSWITCH and eventually, at some point, try to bridge to the callee again. Does this make sense? Is this at all possible when bridging or should i somehow try to originate a call to the callee and only bridge them if i do not receive any error codes? Best regards, *Kenn Leth Hansen* *M.Sc. Engineering *

[Freeswitch-dev] Bounty tasks around?
by Andrey Utkin 20 Jan '14

20 Jan '14

Hi, i'm freelance developer with experience in multimedia processing, and, some years before, VoIP. I have some contributions into FFmpeg, VLC and GStreamer, read more here http://blog.krieger.pp.ua/?p=1 . I wonder if i can help open source VoIP community on some multimedia related issues, including video processing (is VVoIP era already here, huh?). I have searched for similar bounty postings and haven't found a lot, but i decided to ask. I am ready to work on non-multimedia-related tasks, too. Of course it is desirable that proposed tasks are backed by reasonable payoff, although working on important FOSS issues is already a sort of award. Your suggestions to check other bounty-rich projects in aforementioned area are appreciated. Thanks in advance for any kind comments. -- Andrey Utkin

[Freeswitch-dev] How to invoke Freeswitch APIs from other modules
by Peter Hillier 19 Jan '14

19 Jan '14

Hi folks, I am working on a pet project in order to become more familiar with Freeswitch. I have added my own module and APIs successfully, but am stuck when it comes to communicating with the other modules in Freeswitch. I see that other modules "export" functionality via APIs, but am not sure how, from within a C software routine in another Freeswitch module, that I should invoke this functionality. More specifically I want to call the sofia module API to flush all internal registrations (flush_inbound_reg) when some condition is triggered in my module. This module is written in C code, and I have googled my brains out trying to find an example of how to do this. Which is better: mod_event_socket. mod? xml_curl? RPC? I cannot seem to find any examples of how to create events in C (e.g. what parameters need to be specified), and what is the best solution for local communications. I could modify my local copy of sofia to provide direct calls, but I prefer to understand how this is intended to be done with the existing tools. I have the feeling I am missing something simple and would appreciate any pointers that anyone can provide. Thanks, Peter

[Freeswitch-dev] mod_event_socket or mod_xml_rpc?
by canuck15 16 Jan '14

16 Jan '14

I am trying to update an old abandoned app (WikiPBX) which is written using Django Python and uses mod_event_socket and mod_xml_curl to talk with Freeswitch. I've got most things working except the most important part which is mod_event_socket. Now I found mod_xml_rpc which seems like a better way to go. Just wanted to get some opinions which is the better api interface before I get too far into trying to get mod_even_socket working properly. So far it's been quite the headache. I am currently looking at fusionpbx and bluebox code to see what they are doing.

[Freeswitch-dev] Missing Python ESL commands
by canuck15 16 Jan '14

16 Jan '14

I am trying to talk to Freeswitch using Python ESL for a project I am working on. I can't seem to get the api() or sendRecv() commands to work. http://wiki.freeswitch.org/wiki/Event_Socket_Library#sendRecv I am able to send basic commands like "sofia status" using the single_command.py file included in /libs/esl/python source and I can view events using the included events.py. So I know I have correctly installed Python ESL and have it talking. I'm wondering if perhaps these commands were removed for some reason and the documentation has not been updated? I am looking through the source right now to see if I can figure out if they are actually there but thought I would post here to see if anyone can enlighten me as to what may be going on here.
