[Freeswitch-dev] mod_xml_odbc
by Leon de Rooij 21 Jun '09

21 Jun '09

Hi all, I'd like to generate user directory xml directly in FS to bypass http +php (or other scripting language) entirely. So I started writing a module to do just that. It's still rough - I don't code c very often - but it works. http://jira.freeswitch.org/browse/XML-3 Currently all queries are statically defined in the module so users cannot deviate from the sql schema. Bkw suggested to have a look at mod_lcr which look really cool, though I'm not really sure yet how to get the same behavior in this module. The sql schema (without indexes for readability) currently looks like this: http://pastebin.freeswitch.org/9427 In the module, I'm doing 7 queries: Q1: Get domain_id and user_id Q2: Get domain_params Q3: Get domain_variables Q4: Get user_attrs Q5: Get user_params Q6: Get user_variables Q7: Get groups Where Q2-Q6 should return a list of name/value pairs. To make things more configurable by the user of the module, I could place all queries in the configuration file, like this: http://pastebin.freeswitch.org/9426 Do you think that would be acceptable ? Then I'd remove all code that automatically generates tables (which would make the code a lot cleaner and I won't need to find out how to set auto_increment as it's different for each database). Are there any other things I should think about ? Do you think this module could be accepted in FS ? :-) Thanks for the input ! Kind regards, Leon

[Freeswitch-dev] Quick heads up re: minor change in default configs
by Michael Collins 19 Jun '09

19 Jun '09

FYI, Just in case this affects you I wanted to give you all a heads up. With the new NAT busting code we found some stuff in the default configs that was no longer applicable and made some changes. Check them out: http://fisheye.freeswitch.org/changelog/FreeSWITCH/?cs=13874 If you have any dialplan elements that make use of the "use_profile" channel variable please note that we moved it to vars.xml and set it to a default value of 'internal' since that works for just about everything. You can, of course, do whatever you want with it in your customizations. Happy FreeSWITCHing! -MC

[Freeswitch-dev] mod_file and ESL
by Kevin Raison 18 Jun '09

18 Jun '09

Hello, all. I am currently writing a Lisp-based engine based on FreeSWITCH's ESL. Everything is going well thus far, except for the integration of TTS. I think I must have something misconfigured, but I cannot tell what it might be. I chose to use mod_flite. In my modules.conf I have: asr_tts/mod_flite #asr_tts/mod_pocketsphinx #asr_tts/mod_cepstral Everything compiled fine with those options. I saw the build grab the flite sources from the web and compile them. In my autoload_configs/modules.conf.xml I have: <load module="mod_flite"/> But when I issue the speak command, I get an OK message, but no speech is heard: sendmsg call-command: execute execute-app-name: speak execute-app-arg: "/home/raison/test.txt" Content-Type: command/reply Reply-Text: +OK I have tried setting tts_engine=flite and tts_voice=kal to no avail. Can anyone help? I am still new to FreeSWITCH, so please be gentle! Cheers. Kevin

Guys, I am not a CEO of anything but I will pitch USD$100 more. I am sorry for not being able to give more but this is all I can afford from a 3rd world country. :-) Later, jmesquita On Thu, Jun 18, 2009 at 10:44 AM, Brian West <brian(a)freeswitch.org> wrote: > If you're donating you can send it to my paypal brian(a)freeswitch.org, I > also received the sound order for the zrtp sound files and a few odds and > ends we needed. [Freeswitch-dev] Buy The FreeSWITCH Developers Dinner!
by Michael Collins 18 Jun '09

18 Jun '09

Hello FreeSWITCHers out there! I have it on good authority that the FreeSWITCH developers have all convened in an undisclosed location. Rumors that they are plotting to take over the world are not yet confirmed but I will keep you updated as information becomes available. :) It would be great for all of us to show our support and appreciation to the guys for all the hard work they've done. How many of us have had a question answered on the IRC channel or here on the list by one of the guys? How many of us use FreeSWITCH every day for work? If you've benefited from their hard work then please give a little. If we can get everyone to hop on the paypal link (on http://www.freeswitch.org) and donate $5 or $10 then we can easily pay for a nice dinner for the guys. Please hit the link and let me know (off list) when you've donated. Let's do this, people! -Michael

[Freeswitch-dev] Fwd: [UniMRCP] Open source ASR and TTS plugins
by Arsen Chaloyan 17 Jun '09

Mitul, >2) What are the deliverable we expecting of Arsen's effort? And a generic ETA of those deliverables? Both PocketSphinx and Flite will be integrated into open source UniMRCP server as ASR and TTS plugins respectively and will be publicly available under the Apache 2.0 license as UniMRCP itself. It's matter of 2~3 weeks to have basically working and usable plugins for them. Thank you, Arsen. [Freeswitch-dev] development workflow adjustment
by Cavalera Claudio Luigi 17 Jun '09

17 Jun '09

Hello developers, I'm looking for some experienced advice to improve my development workflow with freeswitch. I've got one Server where I've originally downloaded fs sources from the svn under the path /opt/software/freeswitch/src then I've configured it for installation in /opt/software/freeswitch in order to have everything under the same filesystem directory. Now a colleague of mine and me, do change something in freeswitch sources and configuration files. For some reasons we don't edit the files directly on the Server, instead we currently work on our desktop PC within Eclipse IDE. Since we don't compile the software on our desktop PCs but we compile it on the Server, we don't copy all the Freeswitch sources on our Eclipse workspace but only the files we actually need to change. For example if I need to change something in mod_sofia within "sofia_glue.c": 1) if it is the first time I edit this file: semi-manually download via scp the file under a workspace filesystem on my PC which resemble fs sources directory structure 2) commit this original unmodified version of the sofia_glue.c under a local subversion repository of mine which has nothing to do with svn.freeswitch.org 3) edit the file (this is the fun part :-) 4) deploy the file on the Server via ant "build.xml" 5) "make mod_sofia-install" on the Server 6) commit/update sofia_glue.c on my local subversion repository in order to share my patches with my colleague and keep track of changes and experiments As you may understand, my problem is that I want to stay in sync with latest, official, freeswitch svn tree. I would like to keep both my changes and the official freeswitch updates. Any hint on how to deal with this "scenario"? :-) Thanks a lot, Claudio Internet Email Confidentiality Footer ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- La presente comunicazione, con le informazioni in essa contenute e ogni documento o file allegato, e' rivolta unicamente alla/e persona/e cui e' indirizzata ed alle altre da questa autorizzata/e a riceverla.
