[Freeswitch-dev] event socket protocol
by Csaba Zelei 22 Jul '08

22 Jul '08

Hi, I played around a little with event socket and found that it send out the event like this: Content-Length: 1057 Content-Type: text/event-xml \n <event> ... </event>\n Content-Length: 1057 Content-Type: text/event-xml \n <event> ... So my question is wouldnt it be better to separate the event body with a \n too from the next header, just like between the header and the body, so it would be easier to parse? Regards, Csaba Zelei

[Freeswitch-dev] Sofia configuration
by Simon Capper 21 Jul '08

21 Jul '08

I have a sip profile with a ext-sip-ip address that will change from time to time and I want to automatically update freeswitch. It will only change when there are no calls in progress and the sip-ip address will never change. Can I do this: Set a variable in "my_ext_ip=1.2.3.4" "vars.xml" In the sip-profile set "ext-sip-ip=$${my_ext_ip}" Whenever the ip-address changes update vars.xml and do "sofia profile profile_name reloadxml". Does vars.xml get re-read whenever mod_sofia reloads a profile, or only once at startup? How do I invoke "sofia profile ..." from a C application module? Thanks, Simon

[Freeswitch-dev] INFO: wait_for_silence wikified; set chan var w/ result?
by Michael Collins 14 Jul '08

14 Jul '08

FYI, I started the documentation here: http://wiki.freeswitch.org/wiki/Misc._Dialplan_Tools_wait_for_silence I also added it to the list of apps on the mod_dptools wiki page. Question: how easy/difficult would it be to add a channel variable that would get populated with the result of the wait_for_silence call? It could be something like ${waitstatus} with a value of "silence" or "timeout". Bonus question: if I wanted to dig in there myself and see if I could add that feature, where might I start looking for information on what is required when adding a custom channel variable inside an app or api? I'd want to make sure to follow proper protocol when creating this variable. Thanks, MC

[Freeswitch-dev] Core Dump while using eavesdrop
by Sebastien Maisonneuve 11 Jul '08

11 Jul '08

While doing some tests with openzap and eavesdrop, I have received a Core Dump in freeswitch. My setup was : Freeswitch version : FreeSwitch Version 1.0.trunk (8931M) I'm doing the eavesdrop with the 779 extension, using sipphone ( eyebeam ). I'm driving the call with an IVR outside of the freeswitch using event_socket. I'm using digital lines. In fact, they are T1 with DMS100 protocol connected to a sangoma card. The driver I'm using for the sangoma card is wanpipe-3.2.5. IVR originate lots of outbound calls a through event_socket : bgapi originate openzap/1/a/5143150566 &park() The call is originated to the T1 line and come in another T1 line and in another Freeswitch. Using Event Socket, when I receive the inbound call, I start playing waves files on the line. Same thing with the outbound call. *********************** here the core Dump : [root@tyan-test bin]# gdb freeswitch core.3936 GNU gdb Red Hat Linux (6.5-25.el5_1.1rh) Copyright (C) 2006 Free Software Foundation, Inc. [Freeswitch-dev] mod_pocketsphinx
by Frederick Jabre 09 Jul '08

09 Jul '08

Hi All, I've just setup mod_pocketsphinx on my freeswitch box. The module mod_pocketsphinx.so seems to be loaded successfully according to the freeswicth console. At any rate, I am getting this error: mod_pocketsphinx.c:118 pocketsphinx_asr_load_grammar() Can't open dictionary. when I try to use it in the pizza demo in the pizza demo via: var asr = new SpeechDetect(session, "pocketsphinx", "127.0.0.1"); I'm sure it's not as simple as this of course. What other files do I need to get this demo going? And how different are the grammar files from the kind that Lumenvox uses..? Sample grammar files anywhere..? Thanks in advance..! Fred

[Freeswitch-dev] Wednesday meeting moved to 9AM Central, 3PM GMT
by Brian West 08 Jul '08

08 Jul '08

We have decided to move the meeting earlier since 5PM resulted in very few showing up. This also gives us a chance of more people in Europe to join in and take part. We could also Schedule some so Asia can get involved also. So Wednesday at 9AM CST, 3PM GMT on the July 8th. Any thoughts? Brian West sip:brian@freeswitch.org

[Freeswitch-dev] Extracting protocol variables from failed bridge B chan
by Simon Capper 08 Jul '08

08 Jul '08

I'm setting up a bridge call with continue_on_fail=true so I can deal with failure. I want to be able to extract the sip variables (including some custom variables I added to mod_sofia) from the failed call to determine what to do next in the dialplan/application. The channel gets destroyed after the bridge fails and the "import" feature does not work for a failed call it seems and it only has one parameter. I can't figure out how to use api_hangup_hook to copy variables from the dying B channel to the A channel as there is no reference to the A channel in the handler and I'm not sure if it gets called for a failed call anyway. Would you accept a submission of a new feature "export_on_fail" used for bridged calls that takes a list of parameters to be exported from chan B to A, kind of like the way "export" works? The variables would be "prepended" with "failed_" so that they did not clash with variable names on the channel they were being exported to. Thanks, Simon

[Freeswitch-dev] Cpp and globbing
by Simon Capper 07 Jul '08

07 Jul '08

MikeJ, SimpleGlob.h uses the libc glob() function internally when compiled on unix, on windows it does its own thing, that probably why double globbing does not work on windows but does work on unix. Libc glob() is recursive and supports double globbing. Libapr has a globbing function apr_match_glob(), but it does not support double globbing. To get double globbing working on windows and convert switch_xml to C the easiest way I can see is to lift the glob code out of libc and modify to make to work with windows using libapr for the file I/O, for unix the glob function in libc should be used. I had a look at the glob source in the uClibc and it should port OK. The code could be added to the end of switch_xml and ifdef'd out for non-wondows or kept as a windows only source file. If you are OK with this approach I can have a go. Simon
