[Freeswitch-docs] Concerning "Debian Post-Install Tasks"
by Tazari, Mohammad Reza 14 Jan '20

14 Jan '20

Related to: https://freeswitch.org/confluence/display/FREESWITCH/Debian+Post-Install+Ta… A story that could be added as a comment to the above page: I have an installation of freeswitch "_Debian 10 Buster_" pre-compiled packages on a PI-4. When I try to start it as a service during the boot process, freeswitch starts, but registration to the external SIP profile fails. However, when I restart the service, then *fs_cli* returns "*REGED*" for "*sofia status*". As I could not find any other solution for this than restarting the service, I have added the following to the *[Service]* section of *freeswitch.service*: *ExecStartPost=$HOME/fs_reged.sh* where the content of *$HOME/fs_reged.sh* is the following: *#!/bin/bash n=`cat $HOME/.fs_reged 2>/dev/null` if [ "x$n" = "x" ]; then n=0; fi n=$(( $n + 1 )) # counter for the number of calls to this script fs_reged=`/usr/bin/fs_cli -x "sofia status" | grep REGED` if [ $n -le 3 -a "x$fs_reged" = "x" ] ; then # restart the service at most for the third time echo $n > $HOME/.fs_reged systemctl restart freeswitch else # external sip profile registered rm -f $HOME/.fs_reged fi* This script prevents an infinite loop by not restarting the service after three times of restart --> 1. You may change '3' in the 'if' statement to any other number to have another limitation for the number of restarts (not tested with any other number though) 2. You may remove '*$n -le 3 -a *' to have as many restarts as needed for the successful sofia registration (not tested in this form though) P.S. I tried to follow the recommendation on the "Debian Post-Install Tasks" page and "submit a JIRA ticket for the DOCS project so that we can capture this knowledge for the community", but after signing up to JIRA, I could not find any possibility for creating a new issue...

[Freeswitch-docs] High level of danger. Your account was under attack.

Hello! As you may have noticed, I sent you an email from your account. This means that I have full access to your device. I've been watching you for a few months now. The fact is that you were infected with malware through an adult site that you visited. If you are not familiar with this, I will explain. Trojan Virus gives me full access and control over a computer or other device. This means that I can see everything on your screen, turn on the camera and microphone, but you do not know about it. I also have access to all your contacts and all your correspondence. Why your antivirus did not detect malware? Answer: My malware uses the driver, I update its signatures every 4 hours so that your antivirus is silent. I made a video showing how you satisfy yourself in the left half of the screen, and in the right half you see the video that you watched. With one click of the mouse, I can send this video to all your emails and contacts on social networks. I can also post access to all your e-mail correspondence and messengers that you use. If you want to prevent this, transfer the amount of $762 to my bitcoin address (if you do not know how to do this, write to Google: "Buy Bitcoin"). My bitcoin address (BTC Wallet) is: 1K7nnDHosR5czKZtuKT928YSxXXNSaDK6H After receiving the payment, I will delete the video and you will never hear me again. I give you 50 hours (more than 2 days) to pay. I have a notice reading this letter, and the timer will work when you see this letter. Filing a complaint somewhere does not make sense because this email cannot be tracked like my bitcoin address. I do not make any mistakes. If I find that you have shared this message with someone else, the video will be immediately distributed. Best regards!

Re: [Freeswitch-docs] Please help finding a wiki page on custom event variables in LUA

The Confluence search isn’t terrible, but you have to craft the search terms to avoid common words, for sure. Have you scrolled back in your browser history? I understand there can be a lot of overlap. Also, note well that that URL form indicates to me that there is something funky with that particular page. If you go to “Event List” the URL includes that page title. Maybe that has something to do with you being unable to find the desired page? Like it’s restricted viewing or similar? Hope this helps. Bote From: Freeswitch-docs <freeswitch-docs-bounces(a)lists.freeswitch.org> On Behalf Of mario_fs Sent: Tuesday, 19 March, 2019 14:03 To: freeswitch-docs(a)lists.freeswitch.org Subject: [Freeswitch-docs] Please help finding a wiki page on custom event variables in LUA Sounds crazy, I used a wiki page Saturday and spent 5 hours trying to find it again so I can edit and add to it but I cannot. Since it’s so hard to find I will add links to it in other pages. It may be LUA or SOFIA or ESL related. I found a page that had the names of variables I could get into a LUA program triggered by: hook event="custom" subclass="sofia::unregister" script=“….. There was a section for unregistered (and others) that list them like: username: …. from_user: ... I used them here: local username = event:getHeader("username"); local from_user = event:getHeader("from-user"); If anyone knows the page please point me to it. I found an item missing from the page and was going to edit the page and add it (missing user-agent for unregister event). I found this page: https://freeswitch.org/confluence/pages/viewpage.action?pageId=15139388 and edited it but that’s not the one I originally saw, the other one had custom and other events for LUA listed. Thanks Mario G

Way back when the conversion started I offered to scan the data using Rexx and produce a report of links to old pages but no one ever got back to me. I think a report like that would have reduced/eliminated this problem by now. BTW, I fixed most of the pages you referenced below: https://freeswitch.org/confluence/display/FREESWITCH/Early+Media <https://freeswitch.org/confluence/display/FREESWITCH/Early+Media> https://freeswitch.org/confluence/display/FREESWITCH/JitterBuffer <https://freeswitch.org/confluence/display/FREESWITCH/JitterBuffer> https://freeswitch.org/confluence/display/FREESWITCH/Audio+Codecs <https://freeswitch.org/confluence/display/FREESWITCH/Audio+Codecs> https://freeswitch.org/confluence/display/FREESWITCH/IVR <https://freeswitch.org/confluence/display/FREESWITCH/IVR>. <- except for voicemail.py which I could not find https://freeswitch.org/confluence/display/FREESWITCH/Dialplan. <— this was already correct https://freeswitch.org/confluence/display/FREESWITCH/mod_v8 <https://freeswitch.org/confluence/display/FREESWITCH/mod_v8>. <- two links removed since pages combined with others Mario G > On Jun 8, 2018, at 11:42 AM, Preston Hagar <prestonh(a)gmail.com> wrote: > > A lot of the internal confluence links point back to the wiki. [Freeswitch-docs] Support Button obscures editing controls
by M Yudkowsky 08 Jun '18

08 Jun '18

Comrades! That "nifty" new "? Support" button on the wiki obscures the "Edit," "Preview," and what I expect is a cancel button -- but I can't see it. I'm not a big fan of Zendesk, but this is beyond the call of something-or-other. Can we modify this button so that it does not appear in any of the edit modes? Edit, Preview, Source, etc.? -- Moshe Yudkowsky Disaggregate Corporation 2952 W Fargo Chicago, IL 60645 USA +1 773 764 8727 speech(a)pobox.com http://www.Disaggregate.com http://www.PebbleAndAvalanche.com

[Freeswitch-docs] Confluence for deprecated pages?
by M Yudkowsky 24 May '18

24 May '18

I notice that if I click on a link for a deprecated page, e.g., something that does not exist at present or that points to the old Wiki, I end up at freeswitch.com. Example: <https://wiki.freeswitch.org/wiki/Natted_Softphone_ATA>. I would expect the default error landing page to be either the top of Confluence, a Confluence error page with a searchbox (best IMO), or maybe freeswitch.org. But not FS.com. Not that I have anything against FS.com, but I find it jarring. -- Moshe Yudkowsky Disaggregate Corporation 2952 W Fargo Chicago, IL 60645 USA +1 773 764 8727 speech(a)pobox.com http://www.Disaggregate.com http://www.PebbleAndAvalanche.com
