Need a help with start_dtmf
by Yigal Rachilevsky 20 Feb '14

20 Feb '14

Hello ! I am a new in Freeswitch.. I need a help with start_dtmf parameter We have IVR system (Telephone Reporting System) Some times in incoming calls Freeswitch misses some key presses (DTMF) I guess that the problem is the detection of DTMF... I use in (external.xml) <param name="dtmf-type" value="rfc2833"/> Where I need to add start_dtmf parameter for detecting in-band DTMF ? We are using dialplan.xml file located in root of conf folder <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <include> <context name="public"> <extension name="SYFreeSwitch"> <condition field="destination_number" expression=".*"> *<action application="start_dtmf" />* <action application="managed" data="SYFreeSwitch"/> </condition> </extension> </context> </include> It's right place for it ? Thank you in advance, Yigal

I agree with you. Polycom not sending INVITE
by Gabriel Gunderson 19 Feb '14

19 Feb '14

Esteemed FreeSWICH hackers, I'm coming to you as I know you all have buckets of experience with Polycom and I'm more likely to find clueful people here than anywhere else :) We've had a few users complain that nothing happens when they place calls. They hit 'dial'... there's silence... then beeping that lets them know the call failed. Naturally, we started pulling SIP traces thinking the problem was on the server side, but we quickly discovered there was NO SIP traffic. We then assumed networking. Well, we traced it all the way back to the LAN where where the phone resides. We're not even seeing Polycom attempt to send an INVITE from behind the firewall. I haven't gone so far as to put a hub directly in front of the phone, but I'm reasonably sure that the INVITE never hits the wire. For completeness I'm including our Polycom digit matching. <digitmap dialplan.digitmap="911|011xxx.T|[2-9]xxxxxxxxx|1[2-9]xxxxxxxxx|[2-9]xxxxxxT|xxxT|xxxxT" dialplan.digitmap.timeOut="1|4|3|3|3|3|3" /> The phone registers and stays registered the whole time. I also have FreeSWITCH sending OPTIONS message every 30 secs or so. Keep in mind that it works 90% of the time :/ Has anyone see anything like this before? Thanks for your insights! Best, Gabe

bind digit action calls my perl script only after 10 seconds delay
by Ali Pey 19 Feb '14

19 Feb '14

Hello, I use bind digit action in a few places. In one instance, if I'm on the call for more than 20 seconds, bind digit action does not call my perl script right away. There is a delay of 10 seconds before it calls my perl script. I also see this error and I have no idea why it is trying to play moh: 2014-02-19 06:15:43.944500 [DEBUG] switch_ivr.c:615 sofia/SIPRouter/226792XXXX Command Execute playback(local_stream://moh) EXECUTE sofia/SIPRouter/226792XXXX playback(local_stream://moh) 2014-02-19 06:15:43.944500 [WARNING] mod_local_stream.c:470 Unknown source moh, trying 'default' 2014-02-19 06:15:43.944500 [ERR] mod_local_stream.c:479 Unknown source default Has anyone else run into this problem? Ay ideas? Why doesn't bda execute immediately if the bridge is longer than 20 seconds? Thanks, Ali Pey

ICMP... and MTU

I want to open a discussion on this topic, I’m sure many of you fine freeswitchers have encountered the pain of exceeding the MTU and things not handling it properly. I’ve also see this mindset that blocking all ICMP will somehow make your network more secure, In doing this you’re actually breaking PMTU and the internet in general. So check your firewalls, if you’re blocking repent now and fix it… Input and discussions would be welcome on this topic. ESL, ESL_EVENT_CHANNEL_HANGUP, ESL_EVENT_CHANNEL_HANGUP_COMPLETE
by Marcin S 19 Feb '14

19 Feb '14

Hello, I have another issue that is unclear to me. After "hangup" esl returns events ESL_EVENT_CHANNEL_HANGUP (always), ESL_EVENT_CHANNEL_STATE (twice, but I really don't care for that) and ESL_EVENT_CHANNEL_HANGUP_COMPLETE (sometimes). Why ESL_EVENT_CHANNEL_HANGUP_COMPLETE is not always generated? In /var/log/freeswitch/freeswitch.log there are some entries which may have something in common with this issue: 2014-02-14 14:27:05.079484 [DEBUG] switch_core_session.c:1492 Session 131 (sofia/vlan25/379) Locked, Waiting on external entities 2014-02-14 14:27:05.079484 [NOTICE] switch_core_session.c:1510 Session 131 (sofia/vlan25/379) Ended Second question - when is ESL_EVENT_CHANNEL_HANGUP generated? After hangup? Before hangup? It is important for me, because sometimes I have to originate another call somewhere, but I can't do this when previous call (in another session) is not fully released.
