by Sean Devoy 03 Oct '19

Hi, I did a 1.10 distro install on Debian 10. Uploaded my config. Everything appears to be fine except audio prompts. I se in the log: eb34156d 2019-10-03 14:49:11.074418 [DEBUG] switch_ivr_play_say.c:1492 Codec Activated L16@8000hz 1 channels 20ms eb34156d 2019-10-03 14:49:16.854420 [DEBUG] switch_ivr_play_say.c:1933 done playing file file_string://ascii/43.wav!digits/1.wav!digits/3.wav!digits/5.wav!digits/2.wav!digits/8.wav!digits/7.wav!digits/7.wav!digits/0.wav!digits/4.wav!digits/2.wav!digits/7.wav 2019-10-03 14:49:16.854420 [DEBUG] switch_core_file.c:391 File /usr/share/freeswitch/sounds/en/us/callie/ivr/32000/ivr-has_been_added_to_the_blacklist.wav sample rate 32000 doesn't match requested rate 8000 eb34156d 2019-10-03 14:49:16.854420 [DEBUG] switch_ivr_play_say.c:1492 Codec Activated L16@8000hz 1 channels 20ms eb34156d 2019-10-03 14:49:18.514437 [DEBUG] switch_ivr_play_say.c:1933 done playing file /usr/share/freeswitch/sounds/en/us/callie/ivr/32000/ivr-has_been_added_to_the_blacklist.wav 2019-10-03 14:49:20.034446 [DEBUG] switch_core_file.c:391 File /usr/share/freeswitch/sounds/en/us/callie/ivr/32000/ivr-thank_you.wav sample rate 32000 doesn't match requested rate 8000 eb34156d 2019-10-03 14:49:20.034446 [DEBUG] switch_ivr_play_say.c:1492 Codec Activated L16@8000hz 1 channels 20ms eb34156d 2019-10-03 14:49:20.574411 [DEBUG] switch_ivr_play_say.c:1933 done playing file /usr/share/freeswitch/sounds/en/us/callie/ivr/32000/ivr-thank_you.wav e BUT no audio comes through. I think his means my phone connection is 8000hz and FS is sending 32000hz files. How do I fix that? Thanks, Sean

Digital Ocean Floating IP
by Sean Devoy 03 Oct '19

03 Oct '19

Hi, Digital ocean has something called a "Floating IP Address" which is a static Address that can be move from one virtual machine to another. Each virtual machine gets its own address a creation that lasts until it is destroyed. The Floating IP lets you change the VM it points to vey quickly for disaster recovery or even upgrades. I found this: https://gist.github.com/sanderkwantes/3ab81f2d3d6ee182fa237bbc3f5c1489 explaining how to use a D.O. Floating IP, and it works. It says add this to vars.xml <X-PRE-PROCESS cmd="exec-set" data="local_ip_v4=ip addr show eth0 | awk 'FNR == 5 {print $2}' | cut -d '/' -f 1"/> BUT, when I do that, the old (still valid) IP Address can no longer be used to register. Tis makes a transition through my DNS from one to other very difficult. Is there a way to allow 2 valid IP address in a single instance of FS? Thanks, Sean

Rebuilding for EL8 notes: Problem 1 flite
by Richard Chan 03 Oct '19

03 Oct '19

I was looking at rebulding the ancillary RPMs for EL8 before attempting the freeswitch package. 1. broadvoice - PASS 2. flite + cd doc + make flite.html (cd html; texi2html -number -split_chapter ../flite.texi) Option number is ambiguous (number-footnotes, number-sections) Try `texi2html --help' for more information. make: *** [Makefile:52: flite.html] Error 2 error: Bad exit status from /var/tmp/rpm-tmp.la9RHm (%build) RPM build errors: flite-2.0.0-0.el7.centos.src.rpm: Header V4 DSA/SHA1 Signature, key ID 25e010cf: NOKEY user bamboo does not exist - using root group bamboo does not exist - using root user bamboo does not exist - using root group bamboo does not exist - using root user bamboo does not exist - using root group bamboo does not exist - using root Bad exit status from /var/tmp/rpm-tmp.la9RHm (%build) I think it wants -number-sections or -number-footnotes. What is the best way to contribute to a EL8 build of FS 1.10.1 including the sidecar packages? -- Richard Chan

Trying to build ESL.so on Debian 10 / PHP 7.3 ...

Debian 10 Php 7.3 Fs sources as per “build from source” on <https://freeswitch.org/confluence/display/FREESWITCH/Debian+10+Buster> https://freeswitch.org/confluence/display/FREESWITCH/Debian+10+Buster I’ve been scouring the ‘net for a week now trying to build this module.. I’ve installed php headers, ran ./config –with-php and a zillion other attempts, but I always get a host of Zend errors every time I try to make phpmod Just a small sample: /usr/include/php/20180731/Zend/zend_types.h:420:41: note: in definition of macro ‘Z_TYPE’ #define Z_TYPE(zval) zval_get_type(&(zval)) ^~~~ /usr/include/php/20180731/Zend/zend_operators.h:298:35: note: in expansion of macro ‘Z_TYPE_P’ #define convert_to_string(op) if (Z_TYPE_P(op) != IS_STRING) { _convert_to_string((op)); } ^~~~~~~~ /usr/include/php/20180731/Zend/zend_operators.h:400:3: note: in expansion of macro ‘convert_to_string’ convert_to_##lower_type(pzv); \ ^~~~~~~~~~~ /usr/include/php/20180731/Zend/zend_operators.h:447:35: note: in expansion of macro ‘convert_to_ex_master’ #define convert_to_string_ex(pzv) convert_to_ex_master(pzv, string, IS_STRING) ^~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ esl_wrap.cpp:2102:5: note: in expansion of macro ‘convert_to_string_ex’ convert_to_string_ex(args[2]); ^~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ /usr/include/php/20180731/Zend/zend_types.h:410:64: note: initializing argument 1 of ‘zend_uchar zval_get_type(const zval*)’ static zend_always_inline zend_uchar zval_get_type(const zval* pz) { Can anyone pls point me in the right direction?

Install on new Debian 10
by Sean Devoy 02 Oct '19

02 Oct '19

Hi, I spun up a new Debian 10 x64 system. On this page: https://freeswitch.org/confluence/display/FREESWITCH/Installation I did the command FSfile=$(curl -s https://files.freeswitch.org/releases/freeswitch/ | grep -oE "freeswitch-[0-9]*\.[0-9]*\.[0-9]*\.-release\.tar\.bz2" | tail -n 1) && echo Downloading $FSfile && curl https://files.freeswitch.org/freeswitch-releases/$FSfile | tar -xj && mv ${FSfile/.tar.bz2//} freeswitch Which failed. I then installed curl and ran it again. It worked I think, I now have a subfolder named freeswitch. I tried ./configure but got the error: no acceptable C compiler found in $PATH I did apt-get install build-essential and got farther. Then I got an error about no zlib devel apt install zlib1g-dev and got no usable libjpeg; please install libjpeg devel apt install libjpeg-dev and got error: You need to install pkg-config to configure FreeSWITCH. apt install pkg-config then I got: Package sqlite3 was not found in the pkg-config search path. Perhaps you should add the directory containing `sqlite3.pc' to the PKG_CONFIG_PATH environment variable No package 'sqlite3' found configure: error: Library requirements (sqlite3 >= 3.6.20) not met; consider adjusting the PKG_CONFIG_PATH environment variable if your libraries are in a nonstandard prefix so pkg-config can find them. apt install sqlite3 and got the same error. Is there a list of prereqs I need to install? What do I do about this sqlite3 error? Will there be a disto install soon? Thanks, Sean

Hi! Is there any way to set different values in PAI/PPI headers not via sip_h_ but somehow via variables? Like set_cid_type or so? Thanks!

Error creating SIP UA
by William Colls 02 Oct '19

02 Oct '19

Freeswitch 1.10.1, debian 10.0 I am getting the following error message when I try to start freeswitch: 2019-09-29 04:10:46.557595 [ERR] sofia.c:3245 Error Creating SIP UA for profile: internal (sip:mod_sofia@192.168.51.116:5060;transport=udp,tcp) The likely causes for this are: 1) Another application is already listening on the specified address. 2) The IP the profile is attempting to bind to is not local to this system. A port scan tells me that no other process is listening to 5060, and $${local_ip_v4} is set to the correct value (192.168.51.116). What else should I look for/at to resolve the issue? This only started yesterday, and I am not aware of changing anything that might be related. But obviously something did get changed. Thank you for your time and suggestions. William
