Verto RTC problem
by Jose Figueroa 14 Oct '19

14 Oct '19

Hello, I just installed freeswitch in a Centos 7 x64. I already setup everything including verto. I can make calls between extensions and out by a SIP client, but when I go to verto I cannot and I see this in the fs_cli console. 2019-10-11 15:24:08.513067 [ERR] switch_core_session.c:538 Could not locate channel type rtc Have you ever have this problem before? I already loaded mod_verto and mod_rtc Any help would be appreciated. Thank you JF

Troubleshooting and fixing Freeswitch webrtc audio issues
by Alex 14 Oct '19

Hello. We are running a bigbluebutton browser-based webinar server and having some issues with Freeswitch audio quality. We often get some strange audio "noises".Here is a very short sample (it starts at ~ 30+ seconds) https://drive.google.com/file/d/1XOIsofU2nD5vfZC8F7khGeIXV4KVIDBI/view It's a bare metal server,(ubuntu 16.04, l4.15.0-65-lowlatency kernel, 4 cores, 16GB ram, 1 GBit uplink.) What changes in switch.conf.xml(conference.conf.xml, sofia.conf.xml other config files) could be made to fix this issue? Thank you! <https://www.avast.com/sig-email?utm_medium=email&utm_source=link&utm_campai…> Virus-free. www.avast.com <https://www.avast.com/sig-email?utm_medium=email&utm_source=link&utm_campai…> <#DAB4FAD8-2DD7-40BB-A1B8-4E2AA1F9FDF2>

Re: [Freeswitch-users] Scalable xml config

Hi, 1. xml_curl is designed to be good solution. It will suit your needs great if your backend that generates XML is good enough 2. clustered Postgres with some failovering probably will be your first choice There is a lot of room for optimization of both options, I can advise you to apply for the best possible professional support via contacting sales(a)signalwire.com Best regards, Alex Alex Sibyakin | Support Engineer SignalWire | 228 Hamilton Ave 3rd Floor, Palo Alto, CA 94303 Email: alex(a)freeswitch.com Website: https://www.signalwire.com On Sun, Oct 13, 2019 at 2:56 PM H Yavari via FreeSWITCH-users < freeswitch-users(a)lists.freeswitch.org> wrote: > > > > ---------- Forwarded message ---------- > From: H Yavari <hyavari(a)rocketmail.com> > To: FreeSWITCH Users Help <freeswitch-users(a)lists.freeswitch.org> > Cc: > Bcc: > Date: Sun, 13 Oct 2019 05:35:58 +0000 (UTC) > Subject: Scalable xml config > Hi to all, > > I have recently focused more on FS different configurations and some > configuration methods raised this question to me that how FS is scalable, > or it can be scalable independently without using proxy servers like > OpenSIPS/Kamailio?! > > I am going to use FS as voicemail service for 50K users. Scalable xml config
by H Yavari 13 Oct '19

13 Oct '19

Hi to all, I have recently focused more on FS different configurations and some configuration methods raised this question to me that how FS is scalable, or it can be scalable independently without using proxy servers like OpenSIPS/Kamailio?! I am going to use FS as voicemail service for 50K users. But there are some concern for me:1- xml curl: As I found, the only method for central, shared and real time config is xml curl. We are using it in lab without any problem, but my concern is when we have 50K users, for each one, FS fetches config from curl server? Is it a good solution that each time you bring all configs from web app to FS?(I am not sure that FS curl does this or not, please correct me if it is working in another way) 2-Internal DB: When you want to have a batch of FS servers with sync configs, what method would be suggested? if you centralize all internal DB in one point, I think it's not robust as it should be, as for each inquiry, you should send request over network and it is more critical when you are serving multi regions. This concern comes from VM password changing! Please advise me and share your experiences. Regards,H.Yavari

question on media bugs: add / remove /add sequence leading to crash when session ends
by Dave Horton 10 Oct '19

10 Oct '19

I’m trying to understand the semantics of removing and re-adding a media bug to a channel. My scenario is that I need to add a bug to a session, and after some period of processing audio then want to remove it. Based on other factors, some time later in the call, I may want to re-add it again. I am on Freeswitch v1.8.5 How I am doing this now is: - switch_core_media_bug_add(session, “my-function”, NULL, callback, …) some time later - switch_core_media_bug_remove(session, &bug); some time later - switch_core_media_bug_add(session, “my-function”, NULL, callback, …) That all works fine, but when the session ends I get a segfault. See the stack trace below. (Note: I also tried using ‘switch_core_media_bug_close’ for the second step, and I don’t get a stack trace in that scenario, but neither does my callback get invoked after I re-add the bug in step #3). So, two questions: 1) What is the recommended way to accomplish what I am doing? 2) Is this a bug in freeswitch that I should report via Confluence? Thread 40 "freeswitch" received signal SIGSEGV, Segmentation fault. Strange sound ...interruptions(?) here and there
by Alex 10 Oct '19

10 Oct '19

Hi I keep getting strange sound interruptions (for want of a better word) here and there.. reminds me of really old movies if you know what I mean Here is a sample recording <https://drive.google.com/file/d/1XOIsofU2nD5vfZC8F7khGeIXV4KVIDBI/view?usp=…> (just audio, there is no video) You can clearly hear it at ~ 00:30+ seconds and there are other instances throughout the recording I'm using freeswitch as a part of bigbluebutton project. It's not that noticeable when your conversation is short however if you listen to a lecture it gets annoying. I tried using different webcams, different PC\laptops, but it's all the same. It was tested with both energy level=100 and energy level=0 Could anyone help troubleshooting it? What should I try changing? Thank you

Add a Module to a Running System
by William Colls 10 Oct '19

10 Oct '19

I need to add a module to a running system. I thought I had seen instructions on how to do this without doing a complete rebuild/re-install, but I can't find the instructions now. So: is this in fact possible? If so, how do I proceed? Thanks for your time.

Wiki needs update on how to make Pull Requests

Just as I was starting to try and figure out how to do this GitHub came along. Are there plans to update these instructions: https://freeswitch.org/confluence/display/FREESWITCH/Pull+Requests <https://freeswitch.org/confluence/display/FREESWITCH/Pull+Requests> I know it’s work (I maintain all the MacOS pages) but I can’t help since I have no idea how, it’s what I was trying to figure it out. Re: [Freeswitch-users] Voicemail DB Authentication

Hi to all, About this solution, when you have multi FS instances, how we can manage share info on DB? currently I handle the vm event, and update my DB, but how update other FS instances' internal DB?
