eavesdrop not sending video
by D D 08 Sep '13

08 Sep '13

Hi, I tried to use eavesdrop to capture the video of a parked call, but I only receive the audio. I have followed the directions described at http://wiki.freeswitch.org/wiki/Video-recording (including a rebuild after doing the git checkout of video-media-bug), and I can successfully use record_fsv to record the video to a file. Any ideas why the eavesdrop does not send the video? Thanks, David

FreeSWITCH Core - Cassandra Database
by Lloyd Aloysius 07 Sep '13

07 Sep '13

Hi All Does any one have experience with FreeSWITCH Core and Cassandra Database. Sounds like Cassandra (http://cassandra.apache.org/) have a better replication system. This will help to distribute freeswitch across multiple data centers and provide a better fail over system. Any feedback ? Thank you in advance. Thanks Lloyd

Error in make current
by Nick Vines 07 Sep '13

07 Sep '13

I tried to run `make current` on two of my machines running v1.2.stable this morning and got the following error. It looks like the CF_SLA_BARGING was added in the most recent commit to the v1.2.stable branch. Anyone else getting the same error on make current, or is it something wrong with my build? I haven't tried blowing out the directories and starting from scratch. I created FS-5768 <http://jira.freeswitch.org/browse/FS-5768> assuming this is not something wrong on my end. Nick *error:* sofia_presence.c: In function 'broadsoft_sla_gather_state_callback': sofia_presence.c:3309:81: error: 'CF_SLA_BARGING' undeclared (first use in this function) sofia_presence.c:3309:81: note: each undeclared identifier is reported only once for each function it appears in make[6]: *** [mod_sofia_la-sofia_presence.lo] Error 1 make[6]: Leaving directory `/usr/local/src/freeswitch/src/mod/endpoints/mod_sofia' make[5]: *** [all] Error 2

Re: [Freeswitch-users] Event socket and Python

Running python 2.7.3 and FS 1.2.12 Right, the point of connecting to port 8041 was to connect to a closed port. For me, this test shows that con.connected is True even when there is no connection. If you run the python code in my first message (http://permalink.gmane.org/gmane.comp.telephony.freeswitch.user/64360) what does that print?

mod_fifo in clustered enviroment
by afshin afzali 07 Sep '13

07 Sep '13

Hi Everybody, I'm going to use the fifo module on two clustered freeswitch boxes (fs1, fs2). Their mysql databases replicated by tungsten's replicator. when a extension registers in one box I can see the registration in other one as well. The same situation there for fifo module. By logging in a queue in fs1 (offline mode), I can see agent in outbound section on fs2. BUT: fifo module does dispatch call to the agent only on that box which agent has been logged actually ! I could find that the fifo_outbound table has a *hostname *column which holds host that logged in. Has this behavior been intended? BEST, Afshin

Strange sip port
by Sayyed Mohammad Emami Razavi 07 Sep '13

07 Sep '13

FS or anything else, opposite of profile configurations, arbitrarily, changes sip port 5060 to 10037! this is my sip profile: freeswitch@internal> sofia status Name Type Data State ================================================================================================= 89.165.7.58 alias sipinterface_2 ALIASED voicemail_1 alias sipinterface_2 ALIASED voicemail_2 alias sipinterface_2 ALIASED sipinterface_2 profile sip:mod_sofia@192.168.2.73:5070 RUNNING (0) sipinterface_5 profile sip:mod_sofia@192.168.2.73:10037 RUNNING (0) sipinterface_5::trunk_3 gateway sip:TCAPI_User@192.168.2.10 NOREG sipinterface_3 profile sip:mod_sofia@192.168.2.73:5080 RUNNING (0) ================================================================================================= 3 profiles 3 aliases Also, in a few weeks ago, i saw that sip crawlers with high sip registration requests can meddle on FS SQLite db reactions belongs to sip interfaces! In that event, i was forced to delete sipinterface_1 identified with SQLite DB and define new interface named sipinterface_5 with port 5060. This paragraph is just one report although everyone knows FS is a great man! I will send you XML config file, if it's needed! Good luck,

codec2 generates a mess/noise
by Dmitriy Shumaev 06 Sep '13

06 Sep '13

I'm trying to use codec2 in FS. But it only generates a noise. There is a comparasion of speex and codec2 in attached files. The source is the demo_ivr in default configuration [\conf\lang\en\demo\demo-ivr.xml :: <macro name="demo_ivr_main_menu" pause="100">]. FS version = 1.2.11. OS = CentOS 2.6.32-358.18.1.el6.x86_64. As I understand there is no configuration of codec2 in FS? So, what it can be? Why it does not work?

Fax transmissions drop second digit from phone number
by CIO BMCM 06 Sep '13

06 Sep '13

I've updated Freeswitch to Version 1.2.12+git~20130903T200814Z. I've also updated my wanpipe drivers to version 7.0.5. I'm using a Sagnoma A200 card to connect to the POTS network. I have a phone/fax combo. If I hand dial a number (eg 328-6820) on the phone it calls out fine. If I dial that same number as a fax it doesn't work. The logs show the number as 386820. The second digit in the phone number gets dropped. I've tried using a different FXS port, no dice. I tried using a different fax machine, same problem. If I plug the fax machine directly into the phone line and bypass our Freeswitch box it sends faxes just fine. If any one has any ideas I would like to hear them. If you need more information (every one always needs more information) please let me know. Eric

Queries per second with MySQL backed
by Tim St. Pierre 06 Sep '13

06 Sep '13

Hello, I have a redundant FS setup, where I'm using an external MySQL server for Core DB, as well as Sofia profiles, Voice Mail, and a little Limit DB. I'm sitting at 143 queries per second, on an idle box. Can someone tell me if this is normal, or should I be treating this as a problem? During the day when we see 40-60 sessions, database IO doesn't change that much. We don't normally see more than 3-4 calls per second, which is why I think it's strange to see so much database activity on what is really a small system as far as Freeswitch's capabilities are concerned. Here's some info: -475 SIP clients registered across three profiles (most on 1, about 40 on the second, and only 2 on the third, as it's our IPv6 internal profile). -The above profiles also have presence, with an average of 8 subscriptions per phone -Two more profiles for trunks, no registrations on them -Registration is every 20 minutes, and MWI notifies and registration updates are sent on register. Database IO seems to be mostly disk bound, as CPU is next to nothing, but disks run between 40 and 120 TPS, not much more than 2MB/s though. I have SSDs in the database machine. Any thoughts?

FS module development -- ramp-up help sought
by Jayanth Acharya 05 Sep '13

05 Sep '13

Need some guidance on how to ramp-up quickly on FS module development -- rather understanding the source-code. I have to admit that I am not the smartest coder or the quickest learner. What might be the right place to start, without getting bogged down with details. Jay PS> There are no shortcuts, and one must learn it the long-hard-painful way, is a valid answer -- but I am hopeful of something better than that.
