mod_gsmopen: call connects, silence, lose /dev/ttyUSB2...
by Jayanth Acharya 10 Sep '13

10 Sep '13

Recently I replaced my Huawei E1550 with a Huawei E173-U2 modem. Both modems are completely unlocked (and voice enabled), with latest firmware files, as per dc-files.com site. While with Huawei E1550, I was having this terrible voice-quality issue, with Huawei E173-U2, I fared much better initially (last night), and my first call went through perfectly, and I got connected to the IVR menu "5000". However, since I was facing signal-quality issues, I used AT^SYSCFG to set the modem to 2G mode, and got excellent signal. Apart from that, I don't remember making other changes, but since this morning, I am getting this 100% repeatable problem, where-in, once I call FS via my mobile, I see the usb-modem attached to FS (gsmopen EP) ringing, and get connected, but I do not hear the IVR menu anymore, but complete silence. After a while the call disconnects, and then I see console log indicating that my /dev/ttyUSB2 (control port) is probably dead, and as a result the /dev/ttyUSB1 and /dev/ttyUSB2 are removed, and /dev/ttyUSB3 and /dev/ttyUSB4 are created. If I reconfigure gsmopen.conf.xml file to use the new audio and control ports, and place another call, the same thing repeats. I've attempted this across several reboots, but is 100% repeatable. What I see in the console log: http://pastebin.com/swnz4sWf The relevant portion of the freeswitch.log file: http://pastebin.com/dNkhaGen Any ideas / clues as to what's up ? I tried going through the log file, and what I figured is that nothing seems to be received by FS on the audio port, and eventually /dev/ttyUSB2 becomes unresponsive, i.e. doesn't respond to AT-commands. Not sure though. - Jay

#define SWITCH_ADD_AP
by Valter Nogueira 10 Sep '13

Why does the definiton of SWITCH_ADD_AP has a for(;;;) looping in it? #define SWITCH_ADD_API(api_int, int_name, descript, funcptr, syntax_string) \ for (;;) { \ api_int = (switch_api_interface_t *)switch_loadable_module_create_interface(*module_interface, SWITCH_API_INTERFACE); \ api_int->interface_name = int_name; \ api_int->desc = descript; \ api_int->function = funcptr; \ api_int->syntax = syntax_string; \ break; \ } Thanks, Valter

General SIP question and FS possibilities
by Grant Bagdasarian 10 Sep '13

10 Sep '13

Hello, How do you group two call legs together when the first is originated by a different server than the second one? For example: FreeSWITCH 1 ----------------- FreeSWITCH 2. A call is originated from FS1 to FS2. FS2 processes the call, plays some messages etc. Within the first call leg, FS2 originates a second call leg to FS1. A solution would be to append the CallID of the first call leg as a new header in the INVITE of the second leg. This solution is from the FS2 point of view. What if we want FS1 to be able to detect two calls are within the same 'session'. Is that possible? Regards, Grant

IM messaging on FreeSwitch
by mehroz 10 Sep '13

Hi, Anyone with an experience of SIP SIMPLE IM Messaging implemention? I dont see the stuff well documented on http://wiki.freeswitch.org/wiki/Mod_sms <http://wiki.freeswitch.org/wiki/Mod_sms> I followed simple steps to test it with reply back as in default chatplan. <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <include> <context name="default"> <extension name="demo"> <condition field="to" expression="^(.*)$"> <action application="reply" data="Hello, you said: ${_body}"/> </condition> </extension> </context> </include> I tested it with eyeBeam, Jitsi, it doesnt work, and i do not see reply back. and i see in logs: 2013-03-07 14:58:49.090936 [INFO] mod_sms.c:334 Processing text message 9999->9999 in context default Chatplan: 9999 parsing [default->demo] continue=false Chatplan: 9999(a)198.84.61.52 Regex (PASS) [demo] to(9999(a)198.84.61.52) =~ /^(.*)$/ break=on-false Chatplan: 9999(a)198.84.61.52 Action reply(Hello, you said: ${_body}) -- View this message in context: http://freeswitch-users.2379917.n2.nabble.com/IM-messaging-on-FreeSwitch-tp… Sent from the freeswitch-users mailing list archive at Nabble.com.

mod_managed version
by Ed Graves 10 Sep '13

10 Sep '13

Hello, I'm trying to set-up FreeSWITCH with mod_managed in Windows for the first time, using Visual Studio 2008. According to the wiki instructions ( http://wiki.freeswitch.org/wiki/Mod_managed) Visual Studio 2008 must be used, but I think this may be out-of-date because when I load the source code for the latest version, 1.2.12, there is a project file called freeswitch.2008.unsupported. When I try to compile it, I get a bunch of errors, starting with: Error 2 fatal error C1083: Cannot open include file: 'stdint.h': No such file or directory c:\Genesis\freeswitch\freeswitch-1.2.12\libs\openssl-1.0.0a\include\openssl\bio.h 73 libeay32 The company I'm working for uses VS 2008 for everything at the moment, so it would be a bit inconvenient for them to upgrade to a later version of Visual Studio, but not impossible. So I'm wondering what people on this list recommend; is there an older FreeSWITCH version that I could use where VS 2008 compiles properly and is supported, or is it just a better idea to ask that we upgrade visual studio? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Ed

Re: [Freeswitch-users] Gregory Alan Dunn & Brian K West, after 18 years, are getting married!

Congratulations Brian. And it took them this long to get married, thanks to the politicians in his neck of the woods. :( Raymond Chandler <intralanman(a)freeswitch.org> wrote: Friends, As some of you may have heard by now, our very own Brian K West (a.k.a. bkw_) is going to be marrying the love of his life, Gregory A Dunn. The ceremony will be held on October 7th in NYC. Please join with us all in congratulating him and his spouse to be. For those of you who would like to help out with the costs of the planning and ceremony, or would just like to send them a gift, his paypal address is brian(a)bkw.org. No gift is too small (or too large ;-)) If you're in, or around, NYC on the 6th or 7th, we'd entertain the idea of having a FreeSWITCH Users' dinner somewhere in the area on one of those two nights if there's enough interest. Feel free to email me privately (at weddingplanner(a)freeswitch.org) if you'll be in the area and interested in congratulating them, in person, over dinner. -Ray _________________________________________________________________________ Professional FreeSWITCH Consulting Services: consulting(a)freeswitch.org http://www.freeswitchsolutions.com FreeSWITCH-powered IP PBX: The CudaTel Communication Server http://www.cudatel.com Official FreeSWITCH Sites http://www.freeswitch.org http://wiki.freeswitch.org http://www.cluecon.com FreeSWITCH-users mailing list FreeSWITCH-users(a)lists.freeswitch.org http://lists.freeswitch.org/mailman/listinfo/freeswitch-users UNSUBSCRIBE:http://lists.freeswitch.org/mailman/options/freeswitch-users http://www.freeswitch.org
