Make error on Scientific Linux 6.1
by Cliff Wells 24 Oct '11

I've compiled FS on SL6.1 previously without issue. I'm wondering how I can get more informative output so I can figure out if I'm missing a dependency, have a conflicting library installed, or whatever: Compiling ../../../../libs/xmlrpc-c/lib/expat/xmltok/xmltok.c... Linksys SPA-942 with G729
by Joshua Foshee 24 Oct '11

24 Oct '11

I am trying to get the SPA-942 to send with G729. I have turned on the Com G729 Mod and have 10 license on the server. My gateway support G729. So in theory it should pass the codec though and not have to do transcoding. G729 works fine with my carrier but not on the phone end. Below is my Vars.xml http://pastebin.com/Fsww9i21 Below is my sip trace when I have G729 turned on the phones when connecting to the box. If I have G711u turned on it works fine but uses one of my encoding/decoding licenses. http://pastebin.com/B7nSrszx Does anyone have the Linksys SPA-942 working with G729 or any suggestions? Thanks, Josh

FS -How to identify the A-leg or B-leg inside the source code
by fieldpeak 24 Oct '11

24 Oct '11

Hi Friends, i'm using mod_nibblebill for billing on FS, i bundled event processing fucntions when status change, e.g. /* on_routing */ check_billing_before_routing, and * on_hangup */ process_hangup, as below, however, i found it excuted the processing function on both A-leg and B-leg, what i want is that either only A-leg or only B-leg (i can select by coding), how can i realize it? P.S. is it possible that i identify the Legs (A or B) inside the processing function (e.g. check_billing_before_routing,) by intput parameter *sessionsession? source codes as below, switch_state_handler_table_t nibble_state_handler = { /* on_init */ NULL, /* on_routing */ check_billing_before_routing, /* Need to add a check here for anything in their account before routing */ /* on_execute */ sched_billing, /* Turn on heartbeat for this session and do an initial account check */ /* on_hangup */ process_hangup, /* On hangup - most important place to go bill */ /* on_exch_media */ NULL, /* on_soft_exec */ NULL, /* on_consume_med */ NULL, /* on_hibernate */ NULL, /* on_reset */ NULL, /* on_park */ NULL, /* on_reporting */ NULL, /* on_destroy */ NULL }; static switch_status_t check_billing_before_routing(switch_core_session_t *session) { //is it possible to identify the legs (A or B) here? ... } static switch_status_t process_hangup(switch_core_session_t *session) { ... } BR, Charles

BLF not working
by Mike Hammond 23 Oct '11

23 Oct '11

Hello all, I'm new to FS and I'm having a problem getting BLF working, initially I'm trying with a Cisco SPA504G. I've configured a test switch directly on a public IP using the latest download (about a week ago) with a fusionpbx front end gui, running on an ubuntu 10.04 LTS server. I've set it up for multi tenant and have had some domain names pointed at my public IP, I can register and use handsets and gateways without an issue on the different tenants offsite from behind nat'd routers. Next I wanted to try BLF, so I've configured a spare key on the Cisco handset (extn 204) with fnc=blf+sd+cp;sub=202@$PROXY;ext=202@$PROXY to monitor extension 202 which is within the same tenant domain. But the key is glowing orange so obviously not happy If set sofia to debug presence and turn on the sip trace I see the following messaging http://pastebin.freeswitch.org/17557 Can anyone help me with this one as I'm struggling to know what to do next other than strip it all back out and start again with clean a single domain setup. Radius client authentication
by Masood Ahmed 23 Oct '11

23 Oct '11

Dear Gurus and Gabriel, I have installed radius client on free switch successfully , whenever any person tries to send Register request . frees witch looks for directory look up in directory named as "directory" in /freeswitch/conf/ . What I want from freeswitch is that whenever any Register request should hit the freeswitch, It should do the following. i) Do not look into the directory for user lookup ii) Instead core should trigger radius client to send request to radius server and get the results from radius server. iii) If authentication (like the return code is 0 ) is successful then it should let the user register. I am confused on following things. a) Which lines I should where freeswitch which will trigger the radius client to collect the user parameters (like username , password in md5 format ) and pass on to radius server instead looking into directory. b) where would I add those lines......... -- *Regards, Masood Ahmed *

Re: [Freeswitch-users] Digest Authentication issue
by Masood Ahmed 22 Oct '11

22 Oct '11

Dear Gabriel, What I am trying to do here is that there should be no entry in Directory like there are 1000 and other entries. I only want that every request for register or authentication should be processed by radius client. like everytime hits come radius client should send request to server and if returns code is +ve or 0 then it should register otherwise not. I have seen the topic link that you sent but still i am not clear by that. Thanks in advanced for your help. > > > ---------- Forwarded message ---------- > From: Gabriel Gunderson <gabe(a)gundy.org> > To: FreeSWITCH Users Help <freeswitch-users(a)lists.freeswitch.org> > Date: Thu, 20 Oct 2011 00:45:07 -0600 > Subject: Re: [Freeswitch-users] Digest Authentication issue > On Fri, Oct 14, 2011 at 2:39 PM, Masood Ahmed <masood24(a)gmail.com> wrote: > > I had successfully installed and configured radiusclient. Using different contexts in gateways than the profile context
by Gustavo Mársico 22 Oct '11

22 Oct '11

Hi all I'm trying to build a useful way to handle the remote gateways in wholesale scenarios. I'm checking the xml_curl due the very complex (and dynamic) rules of wholesale. As far as I see, besides the IP address of the remote gw, the context could be a good differentiator of different remote entities. I tried to change the Context of the gateways in the external profile (conf/sip_profiles/external/ws31.xml) to something like: <include> <gateway name="10.8.0.10"> <param name="register" value="false"/> <param name="ping" value="25"/> <param name="context" value="tgrp31"/> </gateway> </include> But for some reason Caller-Context and Hunt-Context are shown as 'public' context, which is the context configured in the external profile (conf/sip_profiles/external.xml). Also, I tried to remove the context on the external.xml and keep the context in the external/ws31.xml file, to know if profile context configuration has precedence over the gateway context configuration. But this time, Caller-Context and Hunt-Context show 'default' as context (seems like mod_sofia is not using the context defined in the gateway). Looking the src: In the file src/endpoints/mod_sofia/sofia.c (parse_gateways function) if (!context) { context = "default"; } Which is perfectly fine and it's according to the behavior I've seen. Below that, I found where the context is loaded: } else if (!strcmp(var, "context")) { context = val; A few lines after that: gateway->register_context = switch_core_strdup(gateway->pool, context); I did some debugs in that function and the context is well recorded. In the sofia_handle_sip_i_invite function the register_context variable is used again: if (gateway) { context = switch_core_session_strdup(session, gateway->register_context); But the following comparison: if (gw_name || gw_param_name) { always return false, because a "gw+" is expected as part of the destination number. if (strstr(destination_number, "gw+")) { Just asking, shouldn't be a gateway treated as a gateway no matter if the destination contains certain characters or not? I'm using FreeSWITCH Version 1.0.head (git-918d97b 2011-10-13 10-51-34 -0500) Is this the expected behavior, am I looking this in the wrong way or am I missing something? Best regards Gustavo

Reloading sofia+distributor
by David Villasmil 22 Oct '11

22 Oct '11

Hello, I understand that if I make a change in a gateway, like IP address I need to first kill the gw because fs doesn't updated the config until all sessions are finished. If the gateway has no traffic, that's fine. But the idea would be for the change to take effect starting with the new incoming calls and allow the old ones to end normally. Also, when you kill a gw and then reload it, and incoming call between the kill and the reload will NOT be handled... this is just not right for a production environment.. Is there any other way of doing this WITHOUT actually: - not handling new incoming calls? - having to kill the gw? Thanks! David
