Hello all, I'm new to FS and I'm having a problem getting BLF working, initially I'm trying with a Cisco SPA504G. I've configured a test switch directly on a public IP using the latest download (about a week ago) with a fusionpbx front end gui, running on an ubuntu 10.04 LTS server. I've set it up for multi tenant and have had some domain names pointed at my public IP, I can register and use handsets and gateways without an issue on the different tenants offsite from behind nat'd routers. Next I wanted to try BLF, so I've configured a spare key on the Cisco handset (extn 204) with fnc=blf+sd+cp;sub=202@$PROXY;ext=202@$PROXY to monitor extension 202 which is within the same tenant domain. But the key is glowing orange so obviously not happy If set sofia to debug presence and turn on the sip trace I see the following messaging http://pastebin.freeswitch.org/17557 Can anyone help me with this one as I'm struggling to know what to do next other than strip it all back out and start again with clean a single domain setup. Many thanks, Mike Hammond GCI Com Cedar Court Office Park Denby Dale Road Calder Grove Wakefield WF4 3QZ Office: 0844 443 3537 Fax: 0844 443 3540 http://www.gcicom.net/ This email has been swept by Webroot for viruses. I'm curious what version of firmware you're running on your 504's. I work with them professionally and have found that certain functions work better / don't work depending on your version of firmware. Personally I've found 7.4.8a to be the best stability / feature balance. 7.4.9a was just released and though it fixes a few bugs, especiallly related to BLF's, against our servers a lot of more basic functionality, such as blind transfers and others which were related to the 500S sidecar, but we weren't testing against FreeSwitch, and we were testing SPA509G's. Perhaps you'll have better luck with it? Or better luck not using it, if you are? Point I'm trying to make is, Cisco has been known to break some functionality in virtually every recent release of the firmware, so try a couple different revisions, because your code looks correct. I use it on my Linksys SPA942's and Cisco SPA508's, which both have working BLF's against my FreeSwitch box, at home. The SPA508's are running FW v7.4.8a with the BLF's working fine. Hi Randy, funnily enough I've just upgraded the phone this morning to 7.4.9.a after digging around on Cisco's website last night and I have now got some functionality on the 504... yay ! I'm now working through some tests to see what works and what doesn't with Fusionpbx/FS. I've started by removing all of the default * feature codes from the handset itself and set just **# against the pickup code in the attendant screen and I can now intercept a ringing call by hitting the flashing blf key which is cool. I get grn solid for idle. Red solid when busy on a call. Red flashing when ringing. DND doesn't seem to affect the BLF though which is a shame as that would be nice. I assume that's as good as it gets as unplugging one of the monitored extensions and waiting for the thing to drop it's registration doesn't seem to make any difference ? although I assume there will be some sort of subscription timer involved that FS hasn't reached yet ? given you've obviously been through the mill with cisco's before, do you have any recommendations for timer settings on the handsets for things like NAT keep alives and subscriptions etc ? Mike, I'd have to play with the various timer settings against my FS box at home, to say for sure. It sounds like 7.4.9a may be a solid firmware after all. Besides yourself having good luck with it, some co-workers have just returned from a conference where they spoke with other organizations using the same back-end that we are who have had fantastic success with it; it seems our servers may be out of date on some patches that are more critical than they seemed. We'll be updating our servers over the next couple weeks and bringing them up to date with their various software loads, so hopefully that will show that the issues were not in the Cisco firmware after all. I would be very happy to move to 7.4.9a, as it addresses several outstanding issues with the 7.4.8a firmware that we're currently running as standard. I'll let you know how I make out with the BLF's & timers etc after I've had a chance to play with them more after work, tonight. Mike, I finally got the chance to play with my 508's upstairs.. I don't see any discernable delay with the BLF's. At work we generally have the phones re-register every 60 seconds, but they're working in a hosted deployment, and we have an SBC in between the phones and the switch, which can handle throttling all the requests, soas to not overwhelm the switch. At home against FS, I have them registering every 120 seconds, but the BLF's are responding almost instantly. Randy On Thu, Oct 20, 2011 at 7:56 AM, Mike Hammond <mhammond@gcicom.net> wrote:

Hi, From the logs you posted, I don't see any subscribe request coming from the phone. The phone should send the subscribe request right after registering and the LED goes green when it receives a notify reply. Try to make a sip capture of the phone outgoing packets to check if there is any subscribe request sent. Regards, - vma . On Oct 19, 2011, at 10:07 PM, Mike Hammond wrote:
