Questions for an operator interconnect
by James Lotery 04 Dec '13

04 Dec '13

Hello, we are planning to interconnect with a national operator using FS of course ;) Amongst other things they are the following for which I haven't found answers to. If anyone knows I'd be grateful for an answer: 1. Can we turn off INFO message 2. Are Tel URIs supported (From what I can tell the answer is no, but need confirmation) Thanks in advance. James

Perfect, I'll try it out when I have the time to do so. Re: [Freeswitch-users] Cross compiling freeswitch for raspberry pi
by Jeff Leung 03 Dec '13

03 Dec '13

I'd suggest that you look into qemu as a cpu emulator. You can use that to chroot into an armv6 user land and compile freeswitch natively from there. -------- Original message -------- From: Dušan Dragić <dragic.dusan(a)gmail.com> Date: 12-03-2013 12:24 PM (GMT-08:00) To: FreeSWITCH Users Help <freeswitch-users(a)lists.freeswitch.org> Subject: [Freeswitch-users] Cross compiling freeswitch for raspberry pi Hi all, This weekend I tried my luck at cross-compiling freeswitch for raspberry pi (armv6). After a few bumps along the way (opened jiras for those) I managed to build it, but when running freeswitch on the target system it segfaults during startup. I'm building on Fedora 19 x86_64 using the prebuilt toolchain from https://github.com/raspberrypi/tools (I can build a toolchain from source if anyone thinks it might be better). Raspbian debootstrap created base system is used as sysroot (also tried loop mounted raspbian image as sysroot). My simple build environment setup script: http://pastebin.freeswitch.org/21698 The build process (source the script, configure and compile): ./bootstrap.sh . ~/fs-cc-env.sh ./configure --build=x86_64-redhat-linux --host=arm-linux-gnueabihf --with-sysroot=$SYSROOT make make install didn't work (I guess it's kinda expected, didn't really look into it) so I just copied the binaries, libraries and modules to rpi. Also mod_spidermonkey and mod_xml_rpc were disabled. Didn't even try to build mod_spidermonkey and mod_xml_rpc failed to build (well it builds but makefile tries to run libs/xmlrpc-c/lib/expat/gennmtab/gennmtab which was compiled for arm and should have been x86, probably should create jira for this as well). Console log when FS is started: http://pastebin.freeswitch.org/21699 and backtrace: http://pastebin.freeswitch.org/21700 Is my build environment sane? What am I missing, any hints? Has anyone successfully cross-compiled FS for raspberry pi? Trusted CA for TLS
by adahary 03 Dec '13

03 Dec '13

I would like to share my finding about using trusted CA for TLS for registering without any additional file installation on the client side. To use a trusted CA with freeswitch I just did the following is /conf/ssl 1. cat my.key my.crt > agent.pem 2. cat chain&root > cafile.pem I could NOT register with CSipSimple over TLS when using CA from StartSSL and COMODO. I could register with Thawte! Did anyone was able to register over TLS with other trusted CA (like Godaddy and others) ? If so then with what type of client? -- View this message in context: http://freeswitch-users.2379917.n2.nabble.com/Trusted-CA-for-TLS-tp7596016.… Sent from the freeswitch-users mailing list archive at Nabble.com.

Handling custom headers
by Cezary Siwek 03 Dec '13

03 Dec '13

Hi all, I'm trying to copy some of custom headers from A-leg to B-leg so I have tried this: sip_h_P-HEADER1=${sip_h_P-HEADER1} but it seems like I cannot access customer header variables ${sip_h_} if I don't set before sip_copy_custom_headers=true. If I do that, all the headers are being copied automatically from LegA to LegB. Is there any other way of doing it? I don't need them all to be copied. I know I can remove them afterwards but since they are dynamic I cannot predict how would they look like. Another issue I have is that Freeswitch seems to be adding locally generated P-Asserted-Identity (based on From header) to every final response. I tried to disable it by settiing sip_cid_type=none but no luck so far. Removing it by 'unset' did not help either - PAI header is always there. here is an example: U 10.0.6.136:5060 -> 10.0.3.56:5060 INVITE sip:+4470000606@example.domain.comSIP/2.0. Max registrations per extension
by Rafael Santana 03 Dec '13

03 Dec '13

Hi, I am trying to limit the number of registrations using a specific extension (e.g 1000) to only 1 per time. To do it I am setting the "max-registrations-per-extension" variable to "1". The problem is that when I do it, the extension 1000 becomes forbidden to make calls :( Can someone explain it to me? Is it a bug? -- Rafael Santana Oliveira Mestre em Ciência da Computação

Detecting and blocking fax calls
by Everyday User 02 Dec '13

02 Dec '13

We receive an inordinate amount of spam fax calls to FreeSwitch that we do not need to handle for any reason. I came across this method, https://wiki.freeswitch.org/wiki/Misc._Dialplan_Tools_fax_detect, to hopefully detect and drop these calls. Is there any danger of this method mistaking any live calls and dropping those on accident or is there a better method to accomplish this? Thanks in advance.
