FS processing 302
by Chris Veazey 21 Sep '10

Freeswitch via the external profile(port 5080) is sending an Invite and receiving a 302 response. Should Freeswitch by default be able to process the maddr of a 302 redirect? Changing IP addresses
by Jon Young 21 Sep '10

Is there anything that would prevent changing IP addresses or subnets on a FS install? Is there a doc or wiki that points to any or all changes necessary? Regards, Jon

Voice mail folders
by Tim St. Pierre 21 Sep '10

21 Sep '10

Hello, I have a lot of former Asterisk users really miffed about the lack of folders in Freeswitch voice mail. I noticed in the database table voicemail_msgs there is a folder column that is always inbox. Is this used for anything? How hard would it be to implement some sort of mechanism that would let you tag a voice mail message as being part of a specific folder, then search those folders later on for playback? Thanks! -Tim

Modems
by Ken Gillett 20 Sep '10

20 Sep '10

I asked this before, but never got any response, so hope someone can help me this time. Is it possible to use a (USB) modem as a 'trunk' to and from the PSTN, i.e. be able to accept incoming PSTN calls and also make PSTN calls? I plan on installing FreeSwitch on a Mac and it would be really handy to be able to use Apple's USB modem in this way as otherwise there's no way to add such PSTN functionality on the Mac Mini. Although my requirement is Mac based, I guess this question applies to any FreeSwitch installation. Ken G i l l e t t _/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/

Problems with FAX transmission
by Jan Riedinger 20 Sep '10

20 Sep '10

I'm trying to send a fax via our Freeswitch switch without success. It seems that the "invite sdp (t38)" message isn't forwarded from the gateway of the fax receiver to the gateway of the fax sender. See the attached tif file with the Wireshark trace. If I try the fax transmission with the same setup with a commercial softswitch (same fax equipment, same sending and receiving gateways), the fax transmission is successful. We are using the following settings in the sip_profile <param name="inbound-codec-negotiation" value="greedy"/> <param name="inbound-late-negotiation" value="false"/> Does anybody know what's going wrong? by Storm Demo 20 Sep '10

Dear All, In the below example from FS wiki, can I be sure that "my_callback" will be called before session.hangup() is excuted? Thanks a lot Jasper use("CURL"); function my_callback(string, arg) { console_log("info", string); return true; } if (session.ready()) { session.answer(); var curl = new CURL(); curl.run("POST", "http://www.freeswitch.org/curltest/", "foo=bar&this=has+spaces+in+it", my_callback, "my arg\n", "user:s3cr3tpw"); session.hangup(); }

Re: [Freeswitch-users] sip stack problem in fsw
by JRichey 20 Sep '10

I'm in a similar situation where I need to disable VAD because the other end will disconnect the call if the RTP stops. I've tried the setting Anthony suggested as well as several others I've found on the wiki, but I've not been able to get it to work. The variables I've been trying are listed below. suppress-cng suppress_cng rtp_disable_vad_out rtp_disable_vad_in bridge_generate_comfort_noise send_silence_when_idle For my test calls I'm just playing back sound files with sleep in-between them and I see no RTP when calling sleep. I'm using tcpdump and wireshark to analyze the calls. -Justin Richey jrichey(a)ITLtd.net -----Original Message----- From: freeswitch-users-bounces(a)lists.freeswitch.org [mailto:freeswitch-users-bounces@lists.freeswitch.org]On Behalf Of covici(a)ccs.covici.com Sent: Saturday, September 18, 2010 1:26 AM To: FreeSWITCH Users Help Subject: Re: [Freeswitch-users] sip stack problem in fsw Thanks for the suggestion -- unfortunately it did not work -- I put it in the internal profile, but it seems to have had no effect.
