Customized voicemail greeting
by Lars Zeb 31 Jul '09

Is it possible to define a custom voicemail greeting (wav file) on an extension-by-extension basis? I have read the docs on mod_voicemail and searched previous emails, but I don't know where to begin. Thanks, Lars

Sangoma a101
by Niall Crosby 31 Jul '09

31 Jul '09

Hi, This might be Sangoma config issue, so apologies in advance for posting it here if it is. I am waiting for Sangoma helpdesk to get back to me! But I have a Sangoma a101 and trying to get it working with Freeswitch. Have E1 line coming from telco and everything set up correctly (to my best efforts), however when Freeswitch starts, it says: 2009-07-30 15:17:15.446569 [ERR] mod_openzap.c:1953 Error starting OpenZAP span 1 mode: user dialect: euro error: Also I'm getting the following Sangoma alarms: ***** w1g1: E1 Alarms (Framer) ***** ALOS: OFF | LOS: ON RED: ON | AIS: OFF OOF: ON | RAI: OFF ***** w1g1: E1 Alarms (LIU) ***** Short Circuit: ON Open Circuit: OFF Loss of Signal: ON Can someone tell me where I should be focusing my attention - on the Sangoma config or the Freeswitch config? Also what state should the Sangoma alarms be in when Freeswitch is NOT running? Should they all clear? Thanks in advance, Niall. -- -- Sremium Ltd. Async JS functions?
by Nicolas Brenner 31 Jul '09

31 Jul '09

Hi, I have a small JS script that calls a phonenumber, when the call is answered it plays a wave file, then it calls a second phonenumber and bridges the calls. Is it possible to make wave-playing async, so that the second call is generated as soon as the first is picked up? Right now the wave file takes about 2 secs to play, but I need to extend that time, and I don't want to delay the second call. Thanks! Nicolas

IVR Problem
by Thangappan.M 31 Jul '09

31 Jul '09

Dear all, I am in the process of implementing an IVR using event outbound socket. In the dial plan I used the following statement. <action application="socket" data="127.0.0.1:5000 async full"/> I implemented a Perl script which is listening on the dial plan specified IP address and PORT ( In this case 127.0.0.1 and 5000). Whenever the caller is calling 5000 I executed the above dial plan. Before dialing to the number I executed the Perl script. In my Perl script, first I did the following steps. * Accepting the client connection * Fork a process * Connect with Event Socket Library * Finally send and receive the events to that channel. In the sending part, at first I am sending ($conn->sendRecv("myevents") ) myevents to the freeswitch. It means receive the events from this channel only. I answer for that call ( $conn->execute("answer") ) Then I play back three files as $conn->execute("playback",$sound_path."ivr/ivr-welcome_to_freeswitch.wav"); $conn->execute("playback",$sound_path."ivr/ivr-this_ivr_will_let_you_test_features.wav"); $conn->execute("playback",$sound_path."ivr/ivr-you_may_exit_by_hanging_up.wav"); Here the sound path is /usr/local/freeswitch/sounds/en/us/callie/ But it is not play backed the sound in order. Why? I know that it is a problem in mode(async, full). Can you please clarify these two keywords? I have studied from the wiki page. But I was not able to get it. I also specified the lock mode after every play back as $conn->SetEventBlock("true"); But is not working. Could you please solve this issue? -- Regards, Thangappan.M

Playing sound files in a conference
by Rudolf Denert 31 Jul '09

31 Jul '09

Hallo everybody! I would like to play soundfiles in a existing conference. The procedure is this: Someone calls the number of the conference. Then this person types the pin in to his phone. The next step is that he has to say the name for example "John". This file is saved in a special folder. When he enters the conference room everybody in this existing conference should here: "John" "has enterd the room". If he leaves then everybody should hear: "John" "has left the room". Of course there are two soundfiles. "John" is what the caller has spoken into his phone and the second one a generated file from me. They should be played in succession. Is it possible to implement this with lua? If yes, how can I do that. Thanks for your help. Greetz

The scenario is the following: FS User A dial an extension Extention opens outbound socket channel to my application My application bridges the call to FS User B The application check for Help setting up FreeSWITCH
by Drew Hopcroft 31 Jul '09

31 Jul '09

Hey,Having a problem, first time setting up a FreeSWITCH phone system (or any networked phone system) and seem to be in over my head. We cannot call out or call in (though it does go to the voice mail) or call inside the network (that did work for a time, but then trying to make everything else work it stopped). No idea what to do and hoping for some advice? The output I am getting is: (broken it up a little) sofia status API CALL [sofia(status)] output: Name Type Data State ================================================================================================= internal profile sip:mod_sofia@10.10.0.254:5060 RUNNING (0) external profile sip:mod_sofia@10.10.0.254:5080 RUNNING (0) example.com gateway sip:joeuser@example.com<sip%3Ajoeuser(a)example.com> NOREG iinetphone.iinet.net.au gateway sip:03XXXXXXXX@sip.vic.iinet.net.au <sip%3A03XXXXXXXX(a)sip.vic.iinet.net.au> REGED 10.10.0.254 alias internal ALIASED default alias internal ALIASED nat alias external ALIASED outbound alias external ALIASED ================================================================================================= 2 profiles 4 aliases sofia status profile internal API CALL [sofia(status profile internal)] output: ================================================================================================= Name internal Domain Name N/A DBName sofia_reg_internal Pres Hosts Dialplan XML Context public Challenge Realm auto_from RTP-IP 10.10.0.254 SIP-IP 10.10.0.254 URL sip:mod_sofia@10.10.0.254:5060 BIND-URL sip:mod_sofia@10.10.0.254:5060 HOLD-MUSIC local_stream://moh OUTBOUND-PROXY N/A CODECS G722,PCMU,PCMA,GSM TEL-EVENT 101 DTMF-MODE rfc2833 CNG 13 SESSION-TO 0 MAX-DIALOG 0 NOMEDIA false LATE-NEG false PROXY-MEDIA false AGGRESSIVENAT false STUN-ENABLED true STUN-AUTO-DISABLE false CALLS-IN 3 FAILED-CALLS-IN 1 CALLS-OUT 0 FAILED-CALLS-OUT 0 Registrations: ================================================================================================= Call-ID: ZjRkMmIyZjYwZGI0NjMzYWEzZTRhY2M0Nzk0N2JjYTE.
