voip-voip echo cancel possible
by DA 30 Jul '09

30 Jul '09

We have a carrier that we receive calls from over SIP. They are getting the call from the PSTN and then sending to us as sip. We then get other calls to our FS via sip from other carriers that are also from the PSTN. We bridge these calls in FS. All connections to FS are sip. So. Party1--PSTN--Carrier1--FS--Carrier2--PSTN-party2 Problem is that Party2 hears echo of themselves. We chased it down and Carrier1 says it is because Party1's carrier is setting a bit in the ss7 connection that they are doing echo cancel (when in fact, they are not). So Carrier1 does not do any EC on the call before passing it to us. Is there any way that I could do the EC on this call in FS? >From what I have read on the list, it looks like the Zaptel Hardware or OSLEC type of EC would not work here since there is no zaptel/t1 connection involved with FS.

Can't proxy media
by Stefano Marinelli 30 Jul '09

Hi, I'm trying to proxy-media a call from my FS to my Callweaver. It's a fax T38 call. It seems that my carrier drops the call if t38 is not negotiated and doesn't go on with g711 (will post about it in some minutes, with details). So I decided to try to proxy-media from FS to CW but it fails: here's my dialplan: <include> <extension name="MYPHONENUMBER"> <condition field="destination_number" expression="^(MYPHONENUMBER)$"> <action application="set" data="domain_name=$${domain}"/> <action application="set" data="proxy_media=true"/> <action application="bridge" data="sofia/gateway/callweaverfaxin369/faxin"/> <action application="hangup"/> </condition> </extension> </include> here's the log: 2009-07-30 16:01:37.24041 [NOTICE] switch_channel.c:602 New Channel sofia/external/002@CALLWEAVER_IP Problems with rxfax (doesn't work)

Hi. I'm trying to receive a fax using Freeswitch. It's a SIP channel. I know there's no T38 support (yet) but I think I can get decent result with G711 (as I got with Asterisk and Callweaver on non-T38 providers). In FS, all fails just some seconds after the channel has been answered. Here's the log: recv 1080 bytes from udp/[83.211.227.21]:5060 at 09:23:03.446391: ------------------------------------------------------------------------ INVITE SIP instant messaging presence signaling doesn't work.

Hi Mike, I configured the following lines into intenal.xml <param name="manage-presence" value="true"/> <param name="manage-shared-appearance" value="true"/> <param name="dbname" value="share_presence"/> <param name="presence-hosts" value="$${domain}"/> SIP presence signalling is no stille take into account with softphone. But I have this error that I see with Wireshark "481 Call_Leg/Transaction doesn't exist" when I connect my softphone to my freeswitch server. Have you an idea? Thanks. Cisco 7945/7965 CPE Compatibility with Freeswitch
by Pat Jensen 30 Jul '09

30 Jul '09

Hello, I have had great success bringing up Freeswitch in my lab with various makes/models of SIP hardware CPE, and I am starting to delve into some more complex scenarios. I have two questions specific to Cisco's current generation IP handsets (7965/7945): 1. Is integration of busy lamp fields working on the Cisco 7945/7965? It seems the Asterisk folks are in the process of putting a patch together for 1.6 that uses SIP TCP as a path way, and that Cisco may have some "extensions" required to make them work. If they are supported on Freeswitch, could someone post an XML phone / corresponding Freeswitch directory.xml configuration that is known working? I've attempted what I think is correct based on the SIP deployment guides and the Wiki's, but my BLF speed dial buttons and call logs do not show any presence information. <callLogBlfEnabled>1</callLogBlfEnabled> - tried 1 and 2 here <line button="5"> <featureID>21</featureID> <featureLabel>Phil 5000</featureLabel> <speedDialNumber>5000</speedDialNumber> </line> 2. Is it possible to send a dialed name from Freeswitch back to the IP phone as feedback when a number is dialed out, similar to native CallManager Express/UCM functionality? I've noticed that my Linksys SPA962 will support this without any configuration changes required. This behavior seems to be vendor implementation specific - I'm not sure where this information is hiding so I can't refer to it by it's SIP header to ask as an educated question. I appreciate any help or guidance you can give me, even if it's RTFM :) Thanks folks. Regards, Pat

Enable sip communication between two Freeswitch servers

Hello world, I have two freeswitch servers that I want to interconnect. Each one of them has their own sip domain and we want to enable sip communications between them. All the PC can ping together. Client #1 ------- Freeswitch #1 --(gateway)--- Freeswitch #2 ------ Client# 2. We have configured a sip gateway on Freeswitch #1 server with the configuration below: C:\Program Files\FreeSWITCH\conf\sip_profiles\external\gw.xml <include> <gateway name="gw"> <param data="sofia/gateway/gw/$1(a)192.168.2.10"/[1]> </condition> </extension> </include> In the Freeswitch #2 server, we have configured the 3000 extension: C:\Program SIP trunk (PBX - FreeSwitch) routing problem.

I'm currently trying to connect FreeSwitch to a PBX (Alcatel-Lucent), thanks to a SIP trunk. SIP trunks are available and working on the PBX thanks to a recent update. My problem is that I can't call phones linked to the PBX. When I try to call 300, I've got this message in freeswitch console : 2009-07-27 17:38:48.514105 [NOTICE] switch_channel.c:602 New Channel sofia/internal/[EMAIL PROTECTED] [93d5a10e-7ac3-11de-b456-e5e56113066d] 2009-07-27 17:38:48.516907 [INFO] mod_dialplan_xml.c:252 Processing jgonzalez jgonzalez->300 in context default 2009-07-27 17:38:48.521084 [NOTICE] switch_channel.c:602 New Channel sofia/external/[EMAIL PROTECTED] [93d69816-7ac3-11de-b456-e5e56113066d] 2009-07-27 17:38:48.636073 [NOTICE] sofia.c:3775 Hangup sofia/external/[EMAIL PROTECTED] [CS_CONSUME_MEDIA] [NO_ROUTE_DESTINATION] 2009-07-27 17:38:48.636073 [INFO] mod_dptools.c:2091 Originate Failed. As you can see, I'm far from being an expert of FreeSwitch, SIP or even VoIP in general. I'm learning. I hope you can help me. Regards, Julien Gonzalez.

Methods in the ESL connection
by Thangappan.M 30 Jul '09

Dear all, For implementing a IVR I planned to use event outbound socket. For that I am in the process of analyzing the /libs/esl/perl/server2.pl code.In that they created a object for ESL::ESLconnection package then they called some of the methods like getInfo, sendRecv ...etc using that object. So here is my question, where can I get all the methods of ESL connection and its explanation. This methods will be useful for me to implement my own IVR. -- Regards, Thangappan.M
