Mod xml_curl and managing external SIP gateways
by Peter P GMX 17 Sep '08

Hello, I am using Ruby on Rails for managing endpoints(directory) and dialplans in Freeswitch. However I am wondering whether it is possble to dynamically generate external SIP gateways. I suspect this is done using the configuration bindings. When I enable this I receive the following xml_curl requests on my Ruby server when starting up Freeswitch {"key_name"=>"name", "action"=>"directory", "tag_name"=>"configuration", "key_value"=>"post_load_modules.conf", "controller"=>"xml_curls", "hostname"=>"freeswitch", "section"=>"configuration"} {"key_name"=>"name", "action"=>"directory", "tag_name"=>"configuration", "key_value"=>"event_socket.conf", "controller"=>"xml_curls", "hostname"=>"freeswitch", "section"=>"configuration"} {"key_name"=>"name", "action"=>"directory", "tag_name"=>"configuration", "key_value"=>"acl.conf", "controller"=>"xml_curls", "hostname"=>"freeswitch", "section"=>"configuration"} {"key_name"=>"name", "action"=>"directory", "tag_name"=>"configuration", "key_value"=>"post_load_switch.conf", "controller"=>"xml_curls", "hostname"=>"freeswitch", "section"=>"configuration"} {"key_name"=>"name", "action"=>"directory", "tag_name"=>"configuration", "key_value"=>"switch.conf", "controller"=>"xml_curls", "hostname"=>"freeswitch", "section"=>"configuration"} Also during the runtime of FS can I see no more configuration requests. On the mod_curl page in FS there is a very rough example, but I do net get a real clue how to. In log/freeswitch.xml.fsxml I see that usually gateways are defined under the configuration_name="sofia.conf" But as you can see in the requests above there is no sofia.conf requested (according to the wiki there could be iax.conf|event_socket.conf|sofia.conf|...). Anybody has idea what I am doing wrongly and how to proceed? Just to mention: Directory and dialplans are working and I do receive already at least the above requests.

uPnP/NAT-PMP
by R. Eric Bennett 17 Sep '08

I don't recall seeing anything anywhere (while compiling, on the Wiki, etc) that would suggest that FreeSWITCH does uPnP (or NAT-PMP for that matter; this question is without regard to NAT Traversal religion) for port mapping. Is this a correct assumption? Does anyone know if Asterisk does do uPnP or NAT-PMP to map incoming ports to itself? I haven't touched Asterisk in a couple years so... This is mostly just my idle curiosity working, triggered by another question asked on the list... thanks, eric

Sofia profiles
by Jonas Gauffin 16 Sep '08

16 Sep '08

Hello I haven't touched my sofia profiles in a long time. I now need to have two profiles for phones registering against FreeSWITCH: * One for phones that are on the same LAN as FS * One for phones that is outside the lan (having external IPs). I've made an attempt, but I cant get RTP working, so I've missed a setting or two. Can someone be kind and show me what the profiles should look like? Regards, Jonas

Hi folks, I am trying Liverpie. Its working fine, but sends nothing to my webapp. Below is the output from Liverpie console. === *Liverpie FreeSWITCH PROXY - Now Accepts Connections. Mon Sep 15 02:38:37 UTC 2008: New Connection Mon Sep 15 02:38:37 UTC 2008: Resetting webapp state machine... Mon Sep 15 02:38:37 UTC 2008: Calling webapp... Mon Sep 15 02:38:37 UTC 2008: PROBLEM: Didn't get any response from webapp UNBIND* === Yes, thats true. I am not sending any response back to Liverpie. But should I not expect any information as request parameter from Liverpie, when it is making the first request to my web app? Thanks. -- Best, Adeel Ansari http://www.linkedin.com/in/adeelansari

Google Talk
by Christian Jensen 16 Sep '08

16 Sep '08

Hi everyone, I am thinking of making it so that anyone could leave me voicemail just by adding my gtalk account as a buddy and calling me. Freeswitch would automatically accept the new buddy as well as record anything that came in. Anyone know how to do this? I plan on using Liverpie connected to C# via Generic HTTP Handler. The part I need help with is: a) can mod_jingle do the notification of a buddy request b) can mod_jingle alert me of a call and pick up and start recording. If you have a config (especially for a google for domains config) I would be forever in your debt! (figure of speech of course :) Thanks! Christian
