one-port FXO for home - recommendations?
by Alex Kinch 21 Aug '08

One of my neighbours wants to play with FS, and connect his existing analogue PSTN line to it. What would anyone here recommend to do this? Cheap and easy to configure as possible.. don't need a T1/E1 card or anything silly :) Alex

I was talking about the perl one. The libtool archive one i think is already addressed on the wiki where we explain how to use jds-cbe. Re: [Freeswitch-users] Ending recordFile with a touchtone in Python
by Marc Orenberg 21 Aug '08

21 Aug '08

I sent this email this morning but it didn't seem to make it through, so I'm sending it again. My appologies if it eventually becomes a duplicate: Hello. In the modLua documentation (pasted below), it suggests in the comment that recordings using recordFile may be ended by pressing the # key. For Python, the documentation for the API points to modLua, but the touch-tone barge-in doesn't seem to be working for me. And I can't figure out a simple way to accomplish this. Any advice? session:recordFile syntax is session:recordFile(file_name, max_len, silence_threshold, silence_secs) Example: session:recordFile("/tmp/blah.wav", 30000, 10, 10); -- pressing # ends the recording session:streamFile("/tmp/blah.wav");

Please open up a bug on http://jira.freeswitch.org on this. We have this reproduced on the build servers now and we are looking to resolve this. dialplan condition do string comparison
by Lee JJ 21 Aug '08

21 Aug '08

Hello : So far I test 2 sip profiles, thinking the dialplan logic if sip_from_host == sip_to_host { // this part is searching 2 groups user registered directly do dialplan XML processing do bridge sofia/... // otherwise looking outside }else { do dialplan ENUM processing } Can the dialplan condition do string comparison ? e.g. "${sip_from_host} == ${sip_to_host}" otherwise something like this <condition field="${sip_from_host}" expression="210.2xx.xx.xx"/> <condition field="${sip_to_host}" expression="210.2xx.xx.xx"> <action .... I finally got some experience of multiple sip profiles. Some key points # under sip_profiles directory # # user config file <variable name="user_context" value="inter2"/> # enum.conf.xml <routes> <route service="E2U+SIP" regex="sip:(.*)" replace="sofia/${sofia_profile_name}/$1"/> Wondering can this ENUM work out ? <route service="E2U+SIP" regex="sip:^(.*)$\@${sophia_profile_name}" replace="sofia/${sophia_profile_name}/$1"/> However I still think the FreeSwitch should do DNS , or SRV lookup first ! It should not query ENUM first . 21 11.653138 210.2x.x.x -> 202.y.y.y DNS Standard query NAPTR 2.9.9.9.e164.org # dialplan <action application="transfer" data="$1 enum"/ > this syntax also working ! thanks !

Fetching SIP Header Variable
by msp 21 Aug '08

21 Aug '08

Hi all, I have to fetch the variable from SIP header of incoming calls which comes from SIP proxy, The SIP proxy adds custom variable into sip header. When call comes at freeswitch, it is routed to Javascript, I need to fetch that sip variable in script. I tried mysipvar=session.getVariable("VariableName"); but it returns false. I also tried this (as it is a sip header variable) mysipvar=session.getVariable("sip_h_VariableName"); But it also doesn't work. Thanks Shehzad

Re: [Freeswitch-users] help getting FXO inbound to bridge to fxs
by Ian Henderson 21 Aug '08

21 Aug '08

I successfully resolved the issue I was having with inbound FXO calls not bridging to SIP phones. To recap: The SIP phone was rejecting the SIP request based on the presence of double double-quotes in the caller_id_name field, causing a 400 response. Having figured out the problem (and fix) in Asterisk, I was able to apply the same fix for FS. The trick was to strip out the wrapping double-quotes and set the effective_caller_id_name to just the data within the quotes. Here's my resulting dialplan snippet: <extension name="InboundFXO"> <condition field="destination_number" expression="^inboundFXO(.*)$"/> <condition field="caller_id_name"><expression>^\"*(.*)\"$</expression> <action application="set" data="effective_caller_id_name=$1"/> <anti-action application="set" data="effective_caller_id_name=Unknown"/> <action application="transfer" data="1003 XML default"/> </condition> </extension> Any coaching on improvements to the above are happily accepted, Ian. -- Be Yourself @ mail.com!
