session.originate requires existing call leg?
by James Green 19 Aug '08

19 Aug '08

I am attempting to programatically call out from FreeSWITCH to my office phone as a test and simply play some music using Javascript. session.originate() looks closest but the first argument is an existing session (A-leg). But what if I'm creating the A-leg of the call? Do I just: session = new Session(); session.originate(session, my_destination); ? Or does 'session' exist even though there are no channels connected and if so can it act as the A-leg? Thanks, James

Re: [Freeswitch-users] Problem using originate

Sorry if this mail is sent twice. In my case, the session is not already created. My actual requirement is similar to a call center setup - 1.Park calls coming to extension 800 in mod_fifo. 2. Originate calls to a group of extensions simultanously 3. After an extension answers, bridge that call with a call pulled out of mod_fifo. For this, wrote some event_socket code to listen to fifo events and when a call is pushed into the queue, i do a jsrun command to originate calls to the number and bridge it with a call in fifo queue. Unfortunately for me, the code didn't work as expected. I am enclosing the code below - *Dial Plan: * <extension name="callcentre"> <condition field="${destination_number}" expression="^800$"> <action application="set" data="tts_engine=flite"/> <action application="set" data="tts_voice=kal"/> <action application="fifo" data="callcentre_queue in nowait E:/othersounds/holdmusic.mp3 E:/othersounds/holdmusic.mp3" /> </condition> </extension> *Event Socket (It uses Ray's event socket php code in contrib section) : * <?php require_once('fs_sock.php'); $connectionInfo = array( 'host'=>'localhost', 'port'=>'8021', 'pass'=>'ClueCon', 'timeout'=>3, 'stream_timeout'=>0.5 ); $fsObj = new fs_sock($connectionInfo); if ($fsObj -> auth != true) { die(printf("Unable to authenticate\r\n")); } if (!$fsObj -> subscribe_events('plain CUSTOM fifo::info')) { die(printf("Unable to subscribe to events")); } while(1) { $output = $fsObj -> wait_for_event(); if($output != null && isset ($output['Body']['FIFO-Action']) && $output['Body']['FIFO-Action'] == "push") { //Send the command to run the javascript. $fsObj->bgapi_command("jsrun CallConnect.js"); } } $fsObj -> sock_close(); ?> *JavaScript: * newSession = new Session(); done = false; var extensions = new Array('user/1001(a)10.1.1.202','user/1002(a)10.1.1.202 ','user/1004(a)10.1.1.202','user/1005(a)10.1.1.202'); var i = 0; while(!done) { result = newSession.originate(session, extensions[i] + ",user/ 9999(a)10.1.1.202",2); //It does not originate call to 9999 but timeout works // result = newSession.originate(session, extensions[i] ,2); //timeout does not work if(result) { newSession.answer(); newSession.execute( "fifo", "callcentre_queue out wait undef undef" ); done = true; break; } i = (i >= extensions.length) ? 0 : i+1; } My requirement is for the js to originate multiple calls simulatnously like how bridge does it. If that is not possible, i would ring each extension for a second until someone picks up. Thanks. execute_extension and javascript
by Jonas Gauffin 18 Aug '08

18 Aug '08

Hello The diaplan is requested as it should (through mod_xml_curl) when I call execute_extension from a javascript. The problem is that I can't see which extension is executed. The destination number is the same as the original one, and no variable contains my requested extension. javascript: session.execute("execute_extension", "huntgroup_5 XML default"); Is this a bug, or am I doing something incorrectly? //Jonas

Wiki Documentation considered "not real" ?
by James Green 18 Aug '08

18 Aug '08

Just spotted on the main documentation page the following: "A new effort is being made to create a real set of docs... http://svn.freeswitch.org/svn/freeswitch-docs/trunk" Might I suggest this is bad idea? What is there appears to be a padding out of what exists on the wiki. Certainly merging the two would have been beneficial to me during installation. Wikipedia might not be the most aesthetically pleasing thing but at least it can be improved upon by anyone. Does anyone object to merging the information in SVN into the wiki? James

set channel variable using PERL
by Sheeju Alex 18 Aug '08

18 Aug '08

Hello All, I am trying to figure out the way to set channel variable through perl script so I could fetch the data required from database and pass accordingly to the dialplan. Here is the example I am trying but was not successfull with it, It would be great if I get some advice on this. <extension name="perl"> <condition field="destination_number" expression="^77776$"> <action application="answer"/> <action application="send_display" data="Perl Execution"/> <action application="perl" data="test.pl"/> <action application="transfer" data="${transger_no} XML default"/> </condition> </extension> >> test.pl # Example Perl script to originate. perlrun freeswitch::console_log("info", "Perl in da house!!!\n"); $csession = freeswitch::CoreSession; $csession->setVariable('transger_no',4); #$csession->hangup(); I see setVariable function in class freeswitch::CoreSession but was not successfull to use this. I would appreciate if some one provide me simple example. Thanks, Sheeju
