Fwd: FYI - I am trying to make peace
by Trixter aka Bret McDanel 09 Oct '07

first and foremost its not all my fault, to blame me for everything on wikipedia is wrong. Since I am no longer part of the documentation project due to pressure to leave I will leave that alone. I would like to state that I did make a comment about my identity and the fact that I dont usually log into wikipedia prior to your email. So blame me if it makes you feel better, but next time your boss asks you to do a job (such as write the app_confcall article) dont push it off onto me, do your own paid work. ---------- Forwarded message ---------- From: Brian West <brian.west(a)mac.com> Date: Oct 8, 2007 4:36 AM Subject: Re: FYI - I am trying to make peace To: Michael Collins <mcollins(a)fcnetwork.com> Its all trixters fault he should own up to it and live with it.. he tried to put all the blame on me but its him and he better own up to it... he's logging in to his trixter account and acting like he wasn't the guy from the IP over seas. /b On Oct 7, 2007, at 8:55 PM, Michael Collins wrote: FYI, I just posted a long and hopefully well-worded plea on Calltech's person discussion page. Freeswitch as a voice server?
by Vincent 09 Oct '07

09 Oct '07

Hello, Now that I received an OpenVox PCI card (www.openvox.com.cn/products_detail.php?genre_id=9&id=28) I'm ready to try and set up a voice server with the following features: 1. When customers call in, they should hear a voice menu asking them which software they're calling about 2. Next, they should be able to leave a voice message to explain what their problem is 3. Next, the server should send an e-mail to an alias that includes all the people involved with the software 4. Finally, anyone involved should be able to listen to the voice message and call the customer back. Some of the people are off-site so I guess I should either set them up with SIP phones to let them connect to the server through the Net, or have the server save messages as WAV files and upload them to a web server so people can just click on the file to listen to the message. Here are the questions I have: - Can Freeswitch perform the above tasks, or is it too early yet? - OpenVox says that this card is "full software and hardware compatible with digium's TDM400P" : Will Freeswitch support it as well? Thank you, Vincent.

Re: [Freeswitch-users] FreeSWITCH Wikipedia Article

If they want history this article which was published in the first issue of Open Source Telephony Magazine. http://www.freeswitch.org/node/60 It was authored by me mostly because It's my account of why I started the project. I don't see how anyone is going to learn anything about FreeSWITCH and make it into a notable article without asking me. I can write a book about it, have it published and if everyone learns about it from that book it's the same issue. If they are willing to have entries for any open source software they should have separate rules for how they are presented or not have any on their site. Hello, As with release mode we have problems, we are trying debug mode. But it works only if visual studio is installed. Otherwise we get "Program execution error". We installed this package: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=32bc1bee-a3f9-4c13… Could you tell me if is there any other packages/dlls what are needed for freeswitch? Thanks in advance, Tamas

Long Duration Call run completed
by Ken Rice 06 Oct '07

06 Oct '07

Just FYI and a big thanks to Anthm and his team I have just completed a mid duration test run with FreeSwitch. Using sipp and a single core Xeon 3.06ghz machine with 1 Gig of ram, FreeSwitch ran for 27 hours under a call load of 60calls per second, with each call lasting 5 seconds each. Calls were ran in ³no media mode² passing the calls to a second FreeSwitch box on identical hardware which Answered the Calls and played back media until sipp acting as a UAC terminated the call. Total Calls Competed: 6,008,187 Total FreeSwitch Session on the relay box: 12,019,199 Average Concurrent Calls: 327 Total Time Ran 27hours My intent was to leave the test running for 48 hours and try to reach the 10million calls mark, however, I screwed up hit the wrong key (^\) and forced a segfault into sipp pulling an early abort on the test. Currently I am working out a test plan to determine several performance metrics independent of Tony and his team. If anyone has any suggestions on performace metrics and test tools you would like to see here drop me a note and let me know. K

Freeswitch and H.323
by Santiago Gimenez Ocano 05 Oct '07

05 Oct '07

Hi, I am trying to use H.323 on freeswitch. I know that I have to use Woomera, but I have read in wiki this: Mod_woomera is deprecated and will be removed. It needs to be re-written because the protocol has since changed drastically since the original code was written. I still have to use Woomera or I have to use another thing? Any suggestions?
