For those trying to build on windows, there was an error in one of the build automation scripts that would have prevented you from building on windows. This problem is now corrected in svn version 1901. Mike

I just heard about FreeSwitch this morning and have downloaded, compiled, installed it and even started it up. The instructions for installation were most helpful. But I'm not sure where to go from here. Any instructions (even minimal) on how to try it out? Sorry in advance if this has been answered before. I looked through the website and could not spot anything; but perhaps I missed it. Thanks. Johann

So I followed the instructions and it almost builds completely (========== Build: 33 succeeded, 1 failed, 0 up-to-date, 4 skipped ==========) 1. the only remaining error is: Compiling... mod_spidermonkey.c Compiling manifest to resources... LINK : fatal error LNK1104: cannot open file 'libetpan.lib' Build log was saved at "file://c:\cCode\fswitch\src\mod\languages\mod_spidermonkey\Debug\BuildLog.h tm" mod_spidermonkey - 1 error(s), 1 warning(s) The full output is attached as well (is being held for moderator approval - too large) 2. Also, is there a recommended set of tests that should be run to validate the build ? Make sure you have an internet connection on your first build, it downloads some required files and creates switch_version.h after doing some version lookups that require access to the subversion repository. open up w32/vsnet/freeswitch.sln Select the main solution node at the top of the solution explorer Right Click -> select build. If you continue to have issues after that, can you paste the ENTIRE initial build log in so I can take a look and/or catch me on IRC and let me into the box to take a look. Also, I just commited the updates to the installer this morning that includes all the more recent modules, I hope to do a daily snapshot msi for download soon. Hi ! Luckly freeswitch installed on my system after downloading other libraries. But when i run freeswitch I get this error ./freeswitch: error while loading shared libraries: /usr/local/freeswitch/lib/libfreeswitch.so.1: cannot restore segment prot after reloc: Permission denied Any idea how to solve this problem. I also build the same way you mentioned in your e-mail that let the scripts download the dependencies and specific libraries during the make process, so that there is no version conflilct. The only thing which I can feel is make failed three four times as my internet was slow and all the times I deleted the folder snapshot_????? and started from scratch again. Therefore every time it download every thing on my computer as it is the first time. Is there any way to uninstall all the previous installation and try my luck again. Permission denied does always seem to be related to permissions did you do a full "make installall" I can almost promise you that you would have better luck just building it the way it wants to build including downloading the depends they are specific versions of each depend and they install into a private location so the will not interfere with any other versions you may have. Compilation Problem on slower Internet

Hi All, I have just downloaded the freeswitch. During compilation it tries to download and install SQLite, apr, apr utilities. My internet connection is not good and most of the time during compilation it gets stuck. To solve this problem I have downloaded and installed all these SQLite, apr, apr utilities. Can any one tell me how to link these already installed modules with freeswitch so that during compilation it doesn't download them. Thanking you in advance.
