Event to trap removal of registration not by "unregister"?
by mario_fs 09 Apr '19

09 Apr '19

I am trapping and logging unregister events using LUA sofia::unregister. I have found that the Counterpath’s push server is disconnecting intermittently but not by an “unregister” so the trap is not invoked and so cannot log it. Freeswitch is removing the registration for the device but the unregister trap is not called. Is there another event I could use to trap when FreeSwitch removes a registration? hook event="custom" subclass="sofia::unregister" script=“….. Mario G

Single web socket for multiple verto clients
by Sowmya Venkat 09 Apr '19

09 Apr '19

Hi, Does FreeSWITCH require each Verto client to have a separate web socket connection? I am trying to see if it is possible to open single web socket connection to FS and send verto login and invite messages for different clients on the same web socket? Does verto/FS have the ability to distinguish several clients on the same web socket based on say session Id or equivalent unique identifier? Any input on this question is greatly appreciated Thanks Sowmya

Voicemail WAV truncated in email
by Sean Devoy 08 Apr '19

08 Apr '19

Hi, Out of the blue one of my customer's voice mail messages, attached to his email notification, are being truncated at 54k. The file on the server is much larger (33k+). This just started out of the blue. If I attach the full file and email it as an attachment, it is fine. Is there a mail log I could exam somewhere? Thanks, Sean

How to send a SIP MESSAGE request to an unregistered user?
by David R 05 Apr '19

05 Apr '19

When two users have registered themselves with FS, either user can send a SIP SIMPLE MESSAGE request to the other via FS. For example, Alice and Bob are both registered so Alice can send a message to Bob and vice versa. However, my use-case is slightly different. Only Alice is registered; Bob is a device at some unknown location on the internet on a NATed network behind a firewall/gateway. Bob is able to send a SIP MESSAGE request to Alice(a)Domain.com and it will be received by FS then forwarded to Alice. My question is how can Alice get a reply MESSAGE back to Bob when he hasn't registered? By default, if Alice tries to reply to Bob(a)Domain.com, FS will send back a 202/Accepted to Alice, but the message will go nowhere. Given that when Bob sends his message to Alice, the source address of his message will be valid for a short period (therefore the source address is the return address), how can I ensure that when Alice sends a reply MESSAGE a second or two later, it gets to Bob? My initial thought was to somehow auto-register Bob in FS using the source address of his message. Then Alice's reply should get there. Is this possible? Or should Alice's reply be sent another way? I think the reply to Bob must come from the same address to which he sent his message. Some additional info: Alice never initiates a conversation to Bob, but will always send one reply message to any message from Bob. Bob actually represents up to a few thousand devices at various locations on the internet. These devices may send a single unsolicited message at any time and expect a reply message within a few seconds. --- I also tried to do this with Kamailio, but couldn't find a way to auto-register Bob - or save his location in the location db - in order to send back a reply (and Kamailio returns a 404 to Alice rather than 202).

Forked dialogs support
by Maciej Bylica 05 Apr '19

05 Apr '19

Hi I am running the latest 1.6 rel "FreeSWITCH Version 1.6.20+git~20180507T185611Z~43a9feb7f8~64bit". There is Opensips in front of Freeswitch box. The problem i am facing with is forked dialog. Does FS support this? Assuming that the first route selection over Freeswitch fails and Opensips tries with the second one, it replies with 482 Request Merged. As i see, From tag, Call-ID and Cseq of both INVITES (first route and last one) are exactly the same. Is there any chance to put it running ? Thanks Mac

I wanted to check if there were any new modules for sampling video from a conference? In other words, getting images from video from a conference.
