Hmm, that's interesting. I guess either I happened to check out a buggy version of FS, there's something strange with my configuration or there's some ARM-specific issue (I run FS on a Raspberry Pi). I'll have to do some more troubleshooting. Thank you for checking! - Johan

outbound proxy and port
by Chris B. Ware 05 Jan '16

05 Jan '16

Hi, I need to send registrations and calls from external profile to a si provider, passing through an outbound proxy, port 5080. I I set on sofia: <param name="outbound-proxy" value="10.24.4.151"/> Registrations pass through the OB Proxy, but using, of course, standard 5060 port. I I set on sofia: <param name="outbound-proxy" value="10.24.4.151:5080"/> Param seems to be not understood and registrations go directly to the sip provider. How can I set outbound proxy port? Thanks

freeswitch memory leakage.
by Aqs Younas 24 Aug '15

24 Aug '15

Hi, users We are using 6 freeswitch instances, 5 freeswitch instances for playing streams with mod_vlc. After 3 to 4 for days, we see these (5) freeswitch taking more than 3gb of momory and even though calls are not more than 25. Usually, some calls stay for more than 2 to 3 hours on some freeswitch. Everytime we have to restart the freeswitch to release the captured memory. But is believed, freeswitch must release the momory when there are no calls. But freeswitch still keeps captured memory. I have attactted the top command result along with this email. Willing to perform any test if it helps tackle the problem. Thanks for your help.

freeswitch never seems to call sendmail when trying to email voicemails
by Jason Lewis 29 Jul '15

29 Jul '15

Hi, I've been trying to make freeswitch email voicemails but as far as I can tell, it never even calls sendmail. I have setting mailer-app to "sendmail" and "/usr/sbin/sendmail" to no avail. I can successfully send an email from the commandline using sendmail. (sendmail in this case is provided by postfix) I see no emails in the postfix mail logs when I leave a voicemail message. I also tried creating a shell just to see if it even gets called from fs, but it does not get called when a voicemail is deposited: #!/bin/bash echo $(date --rfc-3339=ns): $* >> /tmp/freeswitchsendmail.log After every change, I have run reloadxml and reload mod_voicemail. I have also tried restarting freeswitch. I am running the debian packages of FreeSWITCH Version 1.4.15-1~64bit (-1 64bit) my configuration is based on the vanilla configuration with only very minor changes. I'm at a loss as to how to debug further, but I'm pretty sure the mailer-app is never called. Is there some setting I'm missing or something obvious I'm not doing? My config: 1001.xml: <include> <user id="1001"> <params> <param name="password" value="$${default_password}"/> <param name="vm-password" value="1001"/> <param name="vm-mailto" value="jason(a)xyz.com.au"/> <param name="vm-mailfrom" value="vm(a)freeswitch.xyz.com.au"/> </params> <variables> <variable name="toll_allow" value="domestic,international,local"/> <variable name="accountcode" value="1001"/> <variable name="user_context" value="default"/> <variable name="effective_caller_id_name" value="Extension 1001"/> <variable name="effective_caller_id_number" value="1001"/> <variable name="outbound_caller_id_name" value="$${outbound_caller_name}"/> <variable name="outbound_caller_id_number" value="$${outbound_caller_id}"/> <variable name="callgroup" value="techsupport"/> </variables> </user> </include> and in switch.conf.xml I have the following set: <param name="mailer-app" value="/usr/sbin/sendmail"/> <param name="mailer-app-args" value="-t"/> I made a log at level 7 and put it on the pastebin: https://pastebin.freeswitch.org/23921 Jason Lewis http://emacstragic.net

So you wanna setup your own CA for WSS/SSL/TLS?
by Brian West 02 Jul '15

Someone should probably turn this into a nice how-to: Here is how I did it. wget http://www.openssl.org/contrib/ssl.ca-0.1.tar.gz tar zxfv ssl.ca-0.1.tar.gz cd ssl.ca-0.1/ perl -i -pe 's/md5/sha1/g' *.sh perl -i -pe 's/2048/2048/g' *.sh ./new-root-ca.sh ./new-server-cert.sh self.bkw.org ./sign-server-cert.sh self.bkw.org cat self.bkw.org.crt self.bkw.org.key > /usr/local/freeswitch/certs/wss.pem Setup Apache: default-ssl: SSLCertificateFile /usr/local/freeswitch/certs/wss.pem SSLCertificateKeyFile /usr/local/freeswitch/certs/wss.pem SSLCertificateChainFile /usr/local/freeswitch/certs/wss.pem Setup Sofia TLS: cat self.bkw.org.crt self.bkw.org.key > /usr/local/freeswitch/certs/agent.pem cat ca.crt > /usr/local/freeswitch/certs/cafile.pem vars.xml: <X-PRE-PROCESS cmd="set" data="internal_ssl_enable=true"/> <X-PRE-PROCESS cmd="set" data="external_ssl_enable=true"/> Restart FreeSWITCH. Now make sure your system has ca.crt imported so it will trust your new found hotness. TEST: openssl s_client -connect self.bkw.org:443 openssl s_client -connect self.bkw.org:8082 Depending on what you've setup you'll see: subject=/C=US/ST=Oklahoma/L=McAlester/O=Tonka Truck/OU=Secure Web Server/CN= self.bkw.org/emailAddress=brian@bkw.org issuer=/C=US/ST=Oklahoma/L=McAlester/O=Whizzzzzzy Bang Bang/OU=Certification Services Division/CN=WBB Root CA/emailAddress= brian(a)bkw.org Or there abouts. -- *Brian West* brian(a)freeswitch.org *Twitter: @FreeSWITCH , @briankwest* http://www.freeswitchbook.com http://www.freeswitchcookbook.com *T:*+19184209001 | *F:*+19184209002 | *M:*+1918424WEST (9378) *iNUM:*+883 5100 1420 9001 | *ISN:*410*543 | *Skype:*briankwest

Re - British Telecom (BT) SIP test list before allowing a server on their IP Telephony network
by Andrew Keil 02 Jun '15

To FreeSWITCH users, Re - British Telecom (BT) SIP test list before allowing a server on their IP Telephony network. I wondered if someone can take a quick look at this test case spreadsheet from BT in the UK to see if a standard FreeSWITCH installation (current production release) will cover off all these test cases. I assume the answer is yes! However I thought that I would ask in advance. Kind Regards, Andrew Keil

by E. Schmidbauer 28 May '15

Hello, I'm trying to compile fs-video2 and getting the following error during ./configure checking for libyuv >= 0.0.1280... configure: error: You need to install libyuv-dev. Required library I git cloned and compiled the libyuv library FS is looking for: git clone https://github.com/openpeer/libyuv.git cd libyuv make -j7 V=1 -f linux.mk (it compiles without errors) How can I tell FS where to find the library? Thanks, E

T.30 faxing - V.27ter
by Tihomir Culjaga 13 May '15

13 May '15

Hi, i got an issue with faxing between a fax machine and FreeSWITCH T.30 protocol. I'm able to send and get faxes everywhere except to this machine. The fax machine uses V.27ter protocol at 4800 and no ECM. faxing from a different fax machine works perfectly but not when i send it from FS. FS logs are here: https://pastebin.freeswitch.org/24139 I extracted audio and tried to decode it with fax_decode ( from spends/tests ) and it fails to decode as well. Also, i tried to decode the audio between two fax machines when the fax went ok and it fax_decode fails on this one as well. fax_decode logs: https://pastebin.freeswitch.org/24140 so maybe we have an issue with V.27ter perhaps. can anyone look say a bit more on this issue ? P.S.: FreeSWITCH Version 1.4.18+git~20150312T185523Z~4eed221b69~32bit (git 4eed221 2015-03-12 18:55:23Z 32bit) regards, Tihomir.
