Recommendation for Billing for Hosted PBX Platform
by Deon Vermeulen 07 Dec '14

07 Dec '14

Hi, I've been looking at the Kazoo as a very viable option as a HostedPBX platform, but don't find any information with regards to Billing. I've also been tracking the thread about recommended GUI where 2600Hz are in the process for updated the code in git for Blue.box. This also looks like a possibility for a HostedPBX platform, but then again I have no idea about the Billing software to use for this. FusionPBX is a top contender if no the number 1 for a HostedPBX platform but again information for Billing is lacking. I would like to know what the feel out there is for Billing on a HostedPBX Platform, i.e. Cloud. If would be great if there is an opensource Billing system. I've purchased the jBilling Telecom guide, but no where can I find information about integrating with FreeSWITCH nor implementing it for a HostedPBX platform in the Cloud. Kind Regards

by Agha Ali Raza 01 Dec '14

Hi All, I want to use a USB GSM dongle (unlocked Huawei E-173L, voice enabled) with FreeSwitch for voice calls. Is mod_gsmopen reliable and does anyone have experience using it? Are there other options besides mod_gsmopen? I am also having trouble building mod_gsmopen on Windows. I would appreciate pointers to any available resources or reading. Thanks, Ali

RTP Packet Loss Troubleshooting
by Linux Vince 24 Nov '14

24 Nov '14

I have installed freeswitch and testing with SiPP FreeSwitch was easily able to handle 1700 concurrent calls. However when it starts going near 2000 my RTP packets are being lost and audio is totally gone in some cases. How do i troubleshoot this ? And how to tune RTP performance for FreeSwitch. I checked that CPU is not fully utilized and is somewhere around 40% range and memory is only at 10%. Also network interface is not fully utilized as well as i was able to transfer files from server and interface was able to handle much more bandwidth than it was running. Please help.

freeswitch + openr2
by leon.ramos＠tiendaip.mx 18 Nov '14

18 Nov '14

Dear list: I am facing a problem when trying to compile freeswitch, freetdm + openr2. I followed the wiki on how to do it, I was able to use the old 1.2 openr2 version. A. If I use the version 1.2 from the svn trunk and the cmake command, I finished with this files: -- Up-to-date: /usr/lib64/libopenr2.so.3 -- Up-to-date: /usr/lib64/libopenr2.so -- Up-to-date: /usr/include/openr2.h -- Up-to-date: /usr/include/openr2/r2chan.h -- Up-to-date: /usr/include/openr2/r2context.h -- Up-to-date: /usr/include/openr2/r2proto.h -- Up-to-date: /usr/include/openr2/r2utils.h -- Up-to-date: /usr/include/openr2/r2log.h -- Up-to-date: /usr/include/openr2/r2exports.h -- Up-to-date: /usr/include/openr2/r2thread.h -- Up-to-date: /usr/include/openr2/r2declare.h -- Up-to-date: /usr/include/openr2/r2engine.h Freetdm configure script detects openr2 ok! B. If I don't use the cmake command in freetdm compilation, and I do a ./configure && make, I get fewer files installed. /usr/lib64/libopenr2.so.3 /usr/lib64/libopenr2.so /usr/include/openr2.h /usr/include/openr2/r2chan.h /usr/include/openr2/r2context.h /usr/include/openr2/r2proto.h /usr/include/openr2/r2utils.h /usr/include/openr2/r2log.h Freetdm configure script can not detect openr2 even it was installed properly! C. If I try a newer version of openr2, I am not able to find cmakelist.txt, Freetdm configure can not detect openr2 either. Is there anything I can do? I would like to make some freeswitch rpms, and I do not want to use cmake if it won't be supported in newer openr2 versions. Any help would be appreciated!

Hack for Zoiper speex codec payload problem
by Mateusz Bartczak 15 Nov '14

15 Nov '14

Hi All, I have problem with getting Zoiper with enabled codec speex/8000 working with FS. I saw some discussions about this problem before, but none of them ended with working solution. Maybe these days some of you can share some hints how to hack this Problem is that Zoiper sends SDP payload type 110 for speex/8000, but FS expects other type for that codec. I tried to rewrite SDP on OpenSIPS proxy that sits between end users and FS box, and then later rewrite replies with SDP payload generated by FS to 110 code, but calls always end-up with codec negotiation failure And yes, I know that zoiper is broken, please don't paste RFC here :) It gets very popular on mobile devices and I'm forced to provide support for it, even if its broken

what can I have in ${} construction
by covici＠ccs.covici.com 11 Nov '14

11 Nov '14

Hi. I was experimenting with ${variable} and was wondering what could be in there before the }? I can do a substring if I say variable:2, but I wonder what else you can do? The bash manual has all kinds of things you can have, but how much of this will fs do? Thanks in advance for any suggestions. -- Your life is like a penny. You're going to lose it. The question is: How do you spend it? John Covici covici(a)ccs.covici.com

FS as callback server pass through ring back tone form B leg to A Leg
by kthofer 07 Nov '14

07 Nov '14

Hi There we have FS as a Callback server right now we play our own RB tone $con->execute("set", "transfer_ringback \%(400,200,400,450);\%(400,2000,400,450)")right after a short welcome message. But that's not really how we like to have it. instead of our own RB tone we like to pass through the B-leg RB Tone to the A-leg. I know this is a question asked before and we tried to read through the forum. But all suggestions we found and tried did not work. WE can not make the Box passing through the RB tone from the b-leg Any suggestion or how to is highly appreciated. Hope to get some good answers -- With best regards Karl Theo Hofer M: +46 7030 22178 E: karl-theo_hofer(a)inteli-sim.com

Is it feasible to add Primary Keys to all FreeSWITCH tables or would this break some functionality? I am asking because I am working on a multi-master replication setup

XML DialPlan help
by Sean Devoy 04 Nov '14

04 Nov '14

I swear I have read this, but now that I need it I can't find it. My user wants to dial international. I want to require them to do SOME extra step other than dialing 0113010... to call the Netherlands. Oddly enough, it is cheaper than US termination - go figure. Ideally, I would like them dial some extension like 777, hear a new dialtone and then accept the international number. I might even like to play a message that says "All charges for International are their responsibility and not part of their current package" before the dialtone. Ideas? Thanks again, Sean
