Hi guys,
I am trying to run freeswitch on Amazon AWS, but I am facing the following
error:
2014-01-31 11:43:11.024549 [ERR] sofia.c:2500 Error Creating SIP UA for
profile: internal (sip:mod_sofia@172.31.28.215:5060)
The likely causes for this are:
1) Another application is already listening on the specified address.
2) The IP the profile is attempting to bind to is not local to this system.
I am sure that the port 5060 is not used by any other application as well
as 172.31.28.215 is an internal IP address of the instance.
I have tried to configure mod_sofia as it described in this link:
http://wiki.freeswitch.org/wiki/Amazon_EC2
Also I googled this error and tried to fix it with
<X-PRE-PROCESS cmd="set" data="local_ip_v4=172.31.28.215"/>
All required ports are opened.
Freeswitch git installation v.1.2.18
Strange that I have never faced the same issue with my previous FS
installations on EC2.
Thanks for advice!
Arsen.

u may check the selected codec by set console log level to debug and then
reload mod_sofia it will show the codec for inbound and outbound codec
prefs for every sip profile there u have the idea which codecs are selected
for the specific profile
and u can update these values in the profile conf file like internal.xml in
sip_profiles/

I installed a new version of Freeswitch and cannot get an extension to register.
I see from the siptrace that it is Forbidden, but don't know why. I can make outbound calls but not receive any.
Thanks for any help on how to correct this.
You can see the siptrace, directory entry for the extension, the addition to the vars.xml file for a password file and the password file itself here.

Hi all,
i'm using FS 1.2.17 and i'm trying to implement this scenario.. A, B and C are using same client, same codec (audio & video).
FS is configured to bypass media (RTP directly between endpoint, no passthrought )
User A make a video call to user B, and user B transfer this call to user C...
The problem is that when B transfer the call to C FS establishes an RTP session with A (audio/video) and an RTP session (audio/video) with C...OK Then FS has to "bridge" the 2 legs and sends 2 INVITE (one for A and one for C) in order to establish the RTP communication between A and C...but in the SDP the video port still remain the dynamic RTP port used by FS and not the RTP port of client (A or C) ...so audio is working (the port are changed correctly) but video no :(
Have I forgot to set some parameter or is it a bug?

Hi All,
I have been looking at some options for handling pre and post pay billing
operations and wanted to ask the community for any feedback they might have.
The obvious starting choice would be mod_nibblebill however i am unclear
about the maturity of this module and its flexibility with ever changing
rates and destinations, although I could probably work around it if stable.
Part of me also wonders if inclusion of billing in heartbeat events is
going to affect performance at peak times.
Another option being considered is the following and i'd be keen to hear
from anyone with experience of this software:
http://portaone.com/portabilling/
It offers complete pre and post pay billing solution via radius, sounds
like a clean and simple implementation but i'm struggling to anyone who has
used it for a realistic review!
Thanks,
Callum

Hello everyone!
I've finally pushed the new JavaScript module that uses Google's V8 library
to git master. The current state should be that it builds on Linux and
Windows. The Windows version only has VS2012 project files so far though. I
will try to fix a VS2010 version as well, but I don't have that version, so
I'd appreciate some help if possible.
I've enabled mod_v8 in build/modules.conf.in, so for a new git clone it
should be built by default. I'm not sure if the core devs want it enabled
instantly, so please change this if needed. In Visual Studio 2012 mod_v8 is
enabled to be built by default also.
The first time mod_v8 is built it will download a tarball for V8, and build
the library. It will take some extra time, but when the lib is built it
will be reused as most other libs inside FS. In Windows one more tarball
will be downloaded as well, holding support files for making Windows build
possible (python and cygwin).
So far I've not tested all features in mod_v8 - but I have done some basic
testing on maybe 90% of the features. If any problem occur, please file a
Jira, and if possible, attach the script that causes the problem. I will
make sure to take care of these issues as soon as possible. If some Linux
build related issues occur, file to Jira as well - but I might ask for
help, since I'm not really a pro on the Makefile stuff :)
The features of mod_v8 should be exactly the same as mod_spidermonkey.
Though the built-in support for XML and File JS classes doesn't exist in V8
(as in Spidermonkey). I've created a new XML implementation class built
upon the XML parser inside FS (I will upload some docs on the wiki for that
one in a near future), and I've created the basic structure for a File
class, but it's not yet implemented. The FS specific FileIO class does
exist as before though.
I'd really appreciate if as many as possible of you test the new module. I
have only one lab phone at home, so performance testing is quite hard for
me to do :) The things I feel I've not tested enough is the Session object
(when executed from dialplan for some IVR), and performance plus memory
management. Regarding memory management there might be some tweaks that
must be added, so V8 doesn't wait too long to execute its GC.
/Peter
