FreeSWITCH Weekly News and Notes
by Michael Collins 08 Jul '13

08 Jul '13

Greetings FreeSWITCH users! WebRTC continues to be a hot topic. We've had a lot of interest in the subject since the announcement <http://freeswitch.org/node/455> of FreeSWITCH 1.4 beta. On last week's conference call<http://wiki.freeswitch.org/wiki/FS_weekly_2013_07_03>we had Ken Rice show us just how easy it is to get a WebRTC-enable page up and running very easily using sipML5 <http://www.sipml5.org> or JsSIP<http://www.jssip.net>. FreeSWITCH users are also welcome to view our WebRTC page's<https://webrtc.freeswitch.org/webrtc/portal.html>underlying code for inspiration. This week we will be doing a community discussion<http://wiki.freeswitch.org/wiki/FS_weekly_2013_07_10>highlighting some recent mailing list topics. We will also be entertaining questions from the audience, so if you have have a FreeSWITCH question please join us on Wednesday. In ClueCon news we are happy to let you know that everyone who registers by Friday, July 12th will triple their chances of winning some great prizes, including the 10 Android tablets that will be given away this year. Simply click the "Register Now" button on the ClueCon site <http://www.cluecon.com>to complete the registration process. Also, plan on being in Chicago on Monday August 5th so that you can hang out with the team and meet other ClueCon attendees. Can you believe that ClueCon 2013 is less than a month away? Have a great week and we will talk to you on Wednesday. -- Michael S Collins ClueCon Team http://www.cluecon.com 877-7-4ACLUE

Connect FreeSWITCH calls through another box.
by Matías Sanguinetti 08 Jul '13

08 Jul '13

Hi everyone, I got the following scenario, I got two FreeSWITCH boxes, lets call them A and B, and an external gateway (GW). The idea is to bridge two channels through the GW. B has 286ms ping with GW so it suffers from a little delay in the calls, A has 15ms ping with GW but its CPU capacity makes the call stutter. B has 32ms ping with A so I was planning to use A as a proxy and process the call on B, I read that something can be done with proxy_media and transfer, mixing internal profiles on A to transfer calls to B. Any idea how to do this? Thanks -- Matías Sanguinetti

I can't compile freeswitch 1.2.11 on debian wheezy (7.1). I get the following error: gcc -I/usr/src/freeswitch-1.2.11/libs/curl/include -I/usr/src/freeswitch-1.2.11/src/include -I/usr/src/freeswitch-1.2.11/src/include -I/usr/src/freeswitch-1.2.11/libs/libteletone/src -I/usr/src/freeswitch-1.2.11/libs/stfu -fPIC -Werror -fvisibility=hidden -DSWITCH_API_VISIBILITY=1 -DHAVE_VISIBILITY=1 -g -ggdb -DHAVE_OPENSSL -Wall -std=c99 -pedantic -Wdeclaration-after-statement -g -O2 -o .libs/freeswitch freeswitch-switch.o -Wl,-lodbc -lm ./.libs/libfreeswitch.so -L/usr/src/freeswitch-1.2.11/libs/apr-util/xml/expat/lib /usr/src/freeswitch-1.2.11/libs/apr-util/xml/expat/lib/.libs/libexpat.a /usr/src/freeswitch-1.2.11/libs/apr/.libs/libapr-1.a -L/usr/src/freeswitch-1.2.11/libs/srtp -lz libs/apr/.libs/libapr-1.a -luuid -lrt -ldl -lcrypt -lpthread libs/libedit/src/.libs/libedit.a -lssl -lcrypto -lncurses -ljpeg -lodbc -Wl,--rpath -Wl,/usr/local/freeswitch/lib /.libs/libfreeswitch.so: undefined reference to `SSLv2_client_method' Is there a solution for that? Hi, now I have this in Allow header: Allow: INVITE, ACK, BYE, CANCEL, OPTIONS, MESSAGE, INFO, UPDATE, REGISTER, REFER, NOTIFY My FS should not implement these features in my scenario: MESSAGE, INFO, UPDATE, REGISTER, REFER, NOTIFY Could you please point me to modules that are responsible for these methods so that I could disable them? Thanks, M

mod_callcenter reload configuration (queues / agents / tiers) from xml
by Antonio Silva 08 Jul '13

08 Jul '13

Hi, what is the best way to reload the XML configuration from callcenter.config.xml? right now i have an external script that synchronize me the configuration from xml and fs (db), it executes : 1. callcenter_config queue list -> get configured queues and them i go on each one and do reload (reload only parameters), load (if i want to add a new queue) or unload (when to delete the queue). 2. callcenter_config agent list -> (same process as in queues) 3. callcenter_config tier list (same as previous) The previous scripts works like a charm... but now I’m growing up in number of agents and it's getting slower.. i read in the wiki that there is an option in fs_cli --batchmode to execute faster... is it safe to use? Or there is a better way in mod_callcenter? I've try to reload mod_callcenter, but it only adds new elements (queues, agents or tiers) the old ones that are not present in the XML they keep configured in the database and so in the system. another issue with the reload mod_callcenter is that a member already in the queue get's deleted from "callcenter_config queue list members queue1". Thanks, António

FreeSWITCH not replying to SIP INVITE
by Christopher Hall 07 Jul '13

07 Jul '13

Hi, I'm new to FreeSWITCH lists and I'm not sure if this is the correct list for my post, any help will be much appreciated. I have a FreeSWITCH server configured to connect to a Draytel (draytel.org) SIP service. This works correctly and I can dial in and out using the service. I have an application running on a Windows Server that interfaces using event socket to the FreeSWITCH server. The intended use is that calls dialling in through the draytel service are automatically handled by this application. Again this works correctly. However, after a period of time which does not yet appear to be deterministic the FreeSWITCH server stops responding to INVITE requests from the draytel server. The FreeSWITCH server can still respond as I can dial using a local network VOIP phone and the application handles that call, but on the draytel connection there is no response. When FreeSWITCH stops responding I see absolutely nothing in the output logging information. I have run WireShark on the server that is running FreeSWITCH and I can see SIP INVITE requests being sent from draytel to the FreeSWITCH host but I don't see any kind of response. Help! Thanks Chris.

First, Thanks for making the repository available - really appreciate. I'm not finding freeswitch-mod-freetdm ? Is it an oversight or some other issue? The goal is to get a card I already have going with freeswitch: Digim Wildcard AEX410 4-port analog card (PCI-Express) (rev 11) going. to run core db in ramdisk for windows
by Vincent Xia 06 Jul '13

06 Jul '13

i modified <param name="core-db-name" value="/dev/shm/core.db" /> to <param name="core-db-name" value="g:/db/core.db" /> in switch.conf to run db in a ramdisk for windows xp, which is assigned with volumn g, but then FS is not able to boot up, the console simply closed after printing 2013-07-06 09:24:02.763297 [DEBUG] switch_nat.c:118 No InternetGatewayDevice, using first entry as default (http://192.168.0.100:2869/ upnphost/udhisapi.dll?content=uuid:9fe913c0-45bd-4637-b8fe-a9c380de91d4). it's not the problem of the ramdisk itself cuz i tried <param name="core-db-name" value="c:/db/core.db" /> and there's the same issue. so is there any problem for FS to run core db in ramdisk for windows installation, or am i missed any other configurations?
