Hello Luke, Free switch can do that but remember you will have FAS Error, its OK if you don't use it in Enterprise. Problems with freeswitch-meta-vanilla on debian 7.0
by Stanislav Sinyagin 16 Jun '13

16 Jun '13

hi, I'm trying to figure out if I should use Debs for a new installation or follow the old path and build FreeSWITCH from sources. Got a freshly created Debian 7.0 (wheezy) 64bit VM at digitalocean.com, and did the following: cat >/etc/apt/sources.list.d/freeswitch.list <<EOT deb http://files.freeswitch.org/repo/deb/debian/ wheezy main EOT curl http://files.freeswitch.org/repo/deb/debian/freeswitch_archive_g0.pub | apt-key add - apt-get update apt-get install freeswitch-meta-vanilla After that, /etc/freeswitch does not exist, and of course FreeSWITCH would not launch. Looks like the packages were not properly tested... regards, stanislav

User variables are not inserted when bridging to user
by Stanislav Sinyagin 16 Jun '13

16 Jun '13

I'm using the latest 1.2 stable branch. I want one of my directory users to have specific codec preferences, so I do in my XML directory: <user id="7012"> <params> <param name="a1-hash" value="538db5a1dcf95cd9df44bf2ff0430c4b"/> </params> <variables> <variable name="absolute_codec_string" value="G722,PCMA,PCMU"/> </variables> </user> But when the call is bridged to user/7012, this variable is not taken into account, and the session inherits the codec from A-leg. When the user dials out, I see this variable in the "info" output, but not when the user extension gets called. Any idea why? Wiki says, the user variables should be used in both in- and out- calls, and the source code looks quite right. thanks

FYI, Per Steven's mention on the other thread about not knowing when to reloadxml vs. restart freeswitch vs. <whatever command> I promised to add a new wiki page. Here it is: http://wiki.freeswitch.org/wiki/Reloading I've seeded the page with some explanatory text and a few items in the table. having problem testing FS with WinSIP

i was trying to test FS with 1 calling party and 1 called party configured in 2 WinSIPs, the registration to FS is OK for both party, but while making calls, the calling party kept receiving 407 Proxy Authentication Required response, i tried to uncomment <param name="accept-blind-reg" value="true"/> <param name="accept-blind-auth" value="true"/> in internal.xml of sip_profiles and still receiving 407 response. the FS log keeps on displaying the following DEBUG: 2013-06-14 18:54:42.166920 [DEBUG] switch_core_session.c:1005 Send signal sofia/internal/1500@192.168.0.100:15070 [BREAK] 2013-06-14 18:54:42.166920 [DEBUG] switch_core_session.c:1005 Send signal sofia/internal/1500@192.168.0.100:15070 [BREAK] 2013-06-14 18:54:42.187428 [DEBUG] sofia.c:7860 IP 192.168.0.100 Rejected by acl "domains".
