variable not being replaced in dialplan
by Juan Pablo L. 22 Jun '12

22 Jun '12

Good morning, i have the following entry in my dialplan to dialout using a gateway: <extension name="gw_outbound_call"> <condition field="destination_number" expression="[\d]{7,}?$"> <action application="set" data="effective_caller_id_number=10000"/> <action application="bridge" data="sofia/gateway/gw/$1"/> </condition> </extension> the dialplan runs well and when FS has to bridge the call it opens a channel to "sofia/gateway/gw/$1", it does not replace the $1 by the actual number being dialed, i have the same in other parts of the dialplan and it works good, i can not find what i m doing wrong here, i would appreciate any hint about this issue. thanks!

Using mod_managed or mod_java
by Jon Schøpzinsky 22 Jun '12

22 Jun '12

Hello everybody, We are designing a new platform, and are planning to use FreeSWITCH for our core services and switching. We have looked at using the ESL interface, mod_managed og mod_java. It doesn't seem as though a lot of work is being done on mod_java, and there isn't allot of documentation around. So if anybody could share their experience with using mod_java, that would be great. mod_managed seems very promising, but we are a bit nervous about running Mono on one of our primary production systems, as our experience with Mono hasn't been all good. Is anybody running mod_managed on large scale production systems, that can share their experience with doing so? The ESL interface is working pretty great, but we do like the idea of integrating our core logic directly into FreeSWITCH, instead of having it run in a separate process. Kind Regards Jon Leren Schøpzinsky

Re: [Freeswitch-users] gateway registration using TLS
by Mi Ke 21 Jun '12

Hi Sean, Thank you for your links, I've double checked my setup and found that both openssl-dev and opentls-dev were in place before compiling. I presume that my SSL profile wouldn't start w/o these libs at all but it does: root@freeswitch /usr/local/freeswitch/bin # netstat -lpn |grep free tcp 0 0 127.0.0.1:8021 0.0.0.0:* LISTEN 22156/freeswitch tcp 0 0 78.46.44.138:5060 0.0.0.0:* LISTEN 22156/freeswitch tcp 0 0 78.46.44.138:5061 0.0.0.0:* LISTEN 22156/freeswitch udp 0 0 78.46.44.138:5060 0.0.0.0:* 22156/freeswitch Also, as an extra test - when I remove cafile.pem and agent.pem profiles do not start so my ssl part seem to be ok. I would be very appreciated if FreeSwitch developers could shed some light on that matter i.e. can FS do TLS registration as a client and how to configure it ? Thanks / Mike ----- Original Message ----- From: Sean Devoy Sent: 06/21/12 04:37 PM To: 'FreeSWITCH Users Help' Subject: Re: [Freeswitch-users] gateway registration using TLS HI MiKe, I have not, but we have been looking into it. Have you seen this thread: http://lists.freeswitch.org/pipermail/freeswitch-users/2008-May/003233.html where Brian West says: You need to make sure you have openssl-devel when you configure/ compile Sofia otherwise it's not enabled. Also their is more to it than "bin/gentls_cert setup" http://wiki.freeswitch.org/wiki/Tls And Helmut Kuper responds with: ok works now. I had to install libgnutls-dev befor running ./configure script. TLS works with default-values of "bin/gentls_cert setup" and "bin/gentls_cert create". Randomly DTMF events when using inband detection using START_DTMF
by Michael Lutz 21 Jun '12

21 Jun '12

Hi All, I have multiple providers delivering calls to my switches. Most of them use RFC2833 and I have no issues. However one of them is not supporting RFC2833 and is using inband dtmf. For this specific provider I have 'START_DTMF' as one of the first commands in my dialplan. This way I can detect digits pressed from a call comming in from that provider too. The problem is that it seems on those specific calls I have two weird things happening: 1. Sometimes it just seems to stop recognize digits. 2. Even worse, sometimes it just seems to randomly (recognize) generate DTMF tones that are not pressed. Of course it could be something that is generated by the provider gateway, as I can also 'hear' a DTMF at that specific moment. Does anyone have experience with issues like this or have pointers? Thanks in advance, Regards, Mike.

FreeSWITCH Installer for Debian
by Brian Foster 21 Jun '12

21 Jun '12

Alright, so I've managed to put together a BASH script to install FS on top of Debian (Squeeze). I took the information on the wiki, along with some best practices and threw them all together for an automated installer. I came up with this really because I'm 'lazy'. I'm on version 0.0.2, and it's not considered extremely safe due to almost no error checking. I'd like to add some of that in. Plans are in the works to do some command line switches, put some options in so that you can customize certain things about the FS install, as well as having a guided install. The guided install would really be for the beginners, and would do such things as setting the hostname, setting timezone data, basically build FreeSWITCH from an absolutely clean install. When Ken's Debian packages come out for FreeSWITCH, I plan on adding the ability to install from those packages as well as just installing from git head and (eventually) the 1.2 branch. I'd like to get some testers from the community and get some feedback on what they would like to see in this installer. It's still VERY basic, and that's a good thing! This way, I can add features from the get-go from users that are used to installing FS in a certain way. http://files.endigovoip.com/freeswitch/fs-debian-installer/fs-debian-instal…<< Current Version as of this writing is 0.0.2 To start, do this: cd wget files.endigovoip.com/freeswitch/fs-debian-installer/fs-debian-installer_las… fs-debian-installer.sh chmod +x fs-debian-installer.sh ./fs-debian-installer.sh Let me know what you think! -- Brian D. New wiki page: Language_Files
by Michael Collins 21 Jun '12

21 Jun '12

Hello all, I've created a new wiki page: http://wiki.freeswitch.org/wiki/Language_Files I've wanted this for some time and Brian's OCD finally took over and I just *had* to create this page. :) I've added languages that I know about or have heard about. *This page is not complete, and it needs your help.* If you know anything about any language files then please please go to that page and add what you know. If you have any issues with editing the wiki then let me know and I will be happy to assist. In fact, if need be I will do a 20-minute tutorial on wiki editing on an upcoming community conference call. Thanks! -Michael

freeswitch directories moved
by shadowym 21 Jun '12

21 Jun '12

Who's idea was it to move the freeswitch directories in the RPM and why? Is it too much to ask that directories are standardized and don't change?! Do you know how distruptive it is when you move all the config files from /opt to /etc.! Not only that but the hierarchy has been changed. The /conf directory has been removed even though it's in all the documentation on the Freeswitch wiki. Wtf? I am used to config files being in /etc for Asterisk. Despite all the disadvantages with Asterisk at least they are sticking with that decision! Of course if I compile from scratch I suppose I can choose the directory myself but for various reasons I used the RPM so I don't have much choice in the matter unless I want to make my own RPM which isn't very good use of my time imho. But wait, it gets worse! Whoever made this decision decided just moving everything and getting rid of /conf directory was not disruptive enough. So they decided to split it up and leave the sound files where they are in /opt/freeswitch. Again, wtf?!

reading headers in 200 response
by Jayesh Nambiar 21 Jun '12

21 Jun '12

Hi All, Is it possible in freeswitch to read headers in 200 OK response. What I am trying to do is route all calls to an opensips server from my freeswitch and when a call answers; opensips sends a header in 200 response, for eg: X-Record: Yes or X-Record. So I was checking if I can read this header in freeswitch and call record_session to record that call inside freeswitch? I was trying something similar, can this work?: <extension name="call_routing"> <condition field="destination_number" expression="^(\d+)$"> <action application="export" data="execute_on_answer=set_record_status ${sip_h_X-Record}"/> <action application="set" data="execute_on_answer=execute_extension check_recording"/> <action application="bridge" data="{sip_invite_domain=${sip_from_host},ignore_display_updates=true}sofia/${context}/$1@ $mydomain"/> </condition> </extension> <extension name="check_recording"> <condition field="${record_status}" expression="Yes"> <action application="record_session" data="/usr/local/freeswitch/recordings/extensions/123456.mp3"/> </condition> </extension> Can someone help me in understanding if this is possible with freeswitch. Thanks, --- Jayesh
