FIFO from public context
by Yihui Li 24 Jun '12

24 Jun '12

Hi all, I am trying to use FIFO and followed the simple call center example here: http://wiki.freeswitch.org/wiki/Simple_call_center_using_mod_fifo When the dialplan is in default context and the call is made from a registered client, it works fine. However, if I move the dialplan to public context and make the call through sip call on another FS server or let my services provider forward the call my the sip address, FIFO will not work and no agent is ringed. Checked the log, it says "INCOMPATIBLE_DESTINATION" when trying to call agent. Can anyone help? Thanks.

Codec 101 - need help with the basics
by ocset 24 Jun '12

24 Jun '12

Hi I need some assistance in understanding the codec minefield. When a stream of audio is sent to FreeSWITCH (FS) using a particular codec, does FS just pass it on or is there some level of translation occurring? I guess my question relates to a situation where an FXO gateway (GXW410x) uses the G723 codec and the receiing phone does not have a matching codec (the phone has G.722, G.711 a law, G.711 u law, G.726 and G.729 as options). How is this managed by the phone, FreeSWITCH and the FXO device? Should I be setting something in FS to handle this issue? I have 2 cordless Siemens C610 IP phones an I am having sound quality issues (incoming sound is soft) and I was wondering how big a part the codec plays in this equation. I have desk phones that are from the same manufacturer as the FXO gateway (Grandstream) and they have very good sound quality. Calling internally between all the phones has crystal clear sound. Thanks in advance O

Cutting out after 30 seconds
by Jeremy Sharp 24 Jun '12

I have some Siemens DECT sip handsets, which are cutting off on outbound calls after 30 seconds. Doesn't seem to affect other phones, or inbound calls. I have tried setting the transport to TCP and adding {ignore_display_updates=true} to the bridge action but this hasn't helped. What could it be? 2012-06-22 11:43:52.978442 [DEBUG] switch_core_session.c:923 Send signal sofia/internal/1002(a)192.168.1.1 [BREAK] 2012-06-22 11:43:52.978442 [DEBUG] switch_core_session.c:923 Send Hangup not detected after fifo
by aam-003＠cox.net 23 Jun '12

23 Jun '12

I am having issues with calls not being terminated correctly - FS doesn't seem to notice when the call is hang up. Here is my scenario: Extension 201 places a call which gets routed as follows: <extension name="Callback_Start" > <condition field="caller_id_number" expression="^201$" > </condition> <condition field="destination_number" expression="^\+?1([2-9]\d{9})$" break="never" > <action application="set" data="target_number=+1$1" inline="true"/> </condition> <condition field="destination_number" expression="^(?:\+|011)(\d+)$" break="never" > <action application="set" data="target_number=+$1" inline="true"/> </condition> <condition field="${target_number}" expression="^\+\d+$" > <action application="answer" /> <action application="system" data="/usr/local/freeswitch/bin/my-callback.php ${target_number}" /> <action application="set" data="hangup_after_bridge=true" /> <action application="fifo" data="MY_CALLBACK in" /> </condition> </extension> This causes a callback being initiated via external SIP account which then gets processed with the following dial plan: <extension name="Callback_Answer" > <condition field="context" expression="public" /> <condition field="${fifo(count MY_CALLBACK)}" expression="^MY_CALLBACK\:[0-9]\:[1-9]" > <action application="answer" /> <action application="fifo" data="MY_CALLBACK out nowait" /> </condition> </extension> Everything works as expected - extension 201 gets connected to the callback and all media is working correctly. However, when extension 201 hangs up, my FS server doesn't seem to realize that that the call is over and the call seems to be hanging around in limbo for another 100 seconds or so. How can I convince the server to terminate the call as soon as my internal extension hangs up? Is there a better way to achieve this callback scenario instead? Thanks for any pointers!

Alert-Info header not understood by SPA phones
by Vallimamod ABDULLAH 23 Jun '12

23 Jun '12

Hi List, I am trying to setup a custom ringtone for internal calls for cisco SPA504G through the Alert-Info header. I have put <action application="export" data="alert_info=Office"/> before the bridge as stated on the wiki but the sip header does not seems to be recognized by the phone. The invite the alert-info header is sent correctly in the sip invite but it contains extra brackets (Alert-Info: <Office>) wich confuses the phone as it is expecting "Alert-Info: Office". I have also tried <action application="set" data="sip_h_Alert-Info=Office"/> but it does not make any difference. Is there any way to remove these brackets ? Thanks you! -- Best Regards, - vma.
