Sending an Event to a Session for onInput
by Matthew Fong 17 Oct '09

17 Oct '09

I'm used to using the onInput callbacks inside lua and javascript to listen for dtmf and other events and perform a task accordingly. I'm wondering if there is a way to send an event to a session or channel that can be caught using the setInputCallback inside lua from outside the session program. Maybe an API command that can generate an event for a specific UUID. Does a mechanism exist to do this that I'm over looking? Thanks. --matt

NAT problems migrating from Version 1.0.trunk (13168M) to Version 1.0.trunk (15166)
by Chris Fowler 17 Oct '09

17 Oct '09

Hi, We've been using 13168M in production for some time now (works great). I want to get us onto the latest build but am having problems getting NAT to work. Phones can register; can dial 9999 test #, but after 100 seconds the call is disconnected with error: 2009-10-16 19:52:26.936618 [NOTICE] sofia.c:4038 Hangup sofia/internal/1001(a)myhost.mydomain.com [CS_EXECUTE] [RECOVERY_ON_TIMER_EXPIRE] I took the standard internal.xml and vars.xml files from the new build and made the following modifications - which worked previously: modify conf/vars.xml and update <X-PRE-PROCESS cmd="set" data="domain=myhost.mydomain.com"/> <X-PRE-PROCESS cmd="set" data="bind_server_ip=1.2.3.4"/> <X-PRE-PROCESS cmd="set" data="external_rtp_ip=1.2.3.4"/> <X-PRE-PROCESS cmd="set" data="external_sip_ip=1.2.3.4"/> Modify conf/sip_profiles/internal.xml <param name="aggressive-nat-detection" value="true"/> <param name="ext-rtp-ip" value="$${external_rtp_ip}"/> <param name="ext-sip-ip" value="$${external_sip_ip}"/> <param name="NDLB-received-in-nat-reg-contact" value="true"/> <param name="NDLB-force-rport" value="true"/> <param name="NDLB-broken-auth-hash" value="true"/> The big difference I note is that on PRODUCTION (which works) "sofia status profile internal" yields: URL sip:mod_sofia@1.2.3.4:5060 BIND-URL sip:mod_sofia@1.2.3.4:5060;maddr=10.250.35.224 But on Test I see: URL sip:mod_sofia@10.250.66.210:5060 BIND-URL sip:mod_sofia@10.250.66.210:5060 Any ideas? Thanks, Chris.

Okay, I think the contrib folder moved up one level. So the Wiki installation documentation should probably be updated to reflect that. Mike, I copied the status screen from the freeswitch package in the web setup. I you need a console view, I will need instructions on how to console into pfsense, Since I have never done that. Building Freeswitch with VPATH (src and obj directories are different)?
by Simon J Mudd 16 Oct '09

I was hoping to be able to build Freeswitch using VPATH, that is have the src and object directories in different locations. This ensures that the src tree is unspoilt and I don't have to reclean it if I do updates. However this does not seem to work: [sjmudd@mad07 src]$ pwd /Users/sjmudd/src [sjmudd@mad07 src]$ ls -l | grep freeswitch drwxr-xr-x 3 sjmudd staff 102 13 Oct 07:52 freeswitch-obj drwxr-xr-x 56 sjmudd staff 1904 13 Oct 14:29 freeswitch-svn [sjmudd@mad07 src]$ cd freeswitch-obj [sjmudd@mad07 freeswitch-obj]$ ../freeswitch-svn/configure checking for a BSD-compatible install... /usr/bin/install -c checking whether build environment is sane... yes checking for a thread-safe mkdir -p... ../freeswitch-svn/build/config/install-sh -c -d checking for gawk... no checking for mawk... no checking for nawk... no checking for awk... awk checking whether make sets $(MAKE)... yes configure: error: source directory already configured; run "make distclean" there first [sjmudd@mad07 freeswitch-obj]$ cd ../freeswitch-svn [sjmudd@mad07 freeswitch-svn]$ make distclean Making clean in build Making clean in src Making clean in mod making clean mod_amr making clean mod_cdr_csv making clean mod_cluechoo making clean mod_commands making clean mod_conference making clean mod_console making clean mod_dialplan_asterisk making clean mod_dialplan_xml making clean mod_dptools making clean mod_enum making clean mod_esf making clean mod_event_socket making clean mod_expr making clean mod_fifo making clean mod_file_string making clean mod_fsv making clean mod_g723_1 making clean mod_g729 making clean mod_h26x making clean mod_iax making clean mod_ilbc making clean mod_limit making clean mod_local_stream making clean mod_logfile making clean mod_loopback making clean mod_lua making clean mod_native_file making clean mod_say_en making clean mod_siren making clean mod_sndfile making clean mod_sofia rm -f "./so_locations" making clean mod_speex making clean mod_spidermonkey making clean mod_spidermonkey_core_db making clean mod_spidermonkey_socket making clean mod_spidermonkey_teletone making clean mod_syslog making clean mod_tone_stream making clean mod_voicemail making clean mod_voipcodecs making clean mod_xml_cdr making clean mod_xml_rpc making clean mod_alsa making clean mod_amrwb making clean mod_celt making clean mod_cepstral making clean mod_dahdi_codec making clean mod_dialplan_directory making clean mod_dingaling making clean mod_easyroute making clean mod_erlang_event making clean mod_event_multicast making clean mod_fax making clean mod_flite WARNING mod_http is not a valid FreeSWITCH module dir, skipping it..... making clean mod_lcr making clean mod_ldap making clean mod_memcache making clean mod_nibblebill making clean mod_opal Package opal was not found in the pkg-config search path. failed in bridging with SIPp
by Erwin Davis 16 Oct '09

16 Oct '09

Hi, I tried to originate a call from x-lite and hope to terminate to SIPp running in another machine (192.168.1.36:5069) through FS. My x-lite received service no available and the FS report NORMAL_TEMPOARY_FAILURE (http://pastebin.freeswitch.org/10720) My purpose for FS is to simply forward the call to the destination IP addr, which is 192.168.1.36. Did I miss anything in the configuration? Thanks, Below is my configuration, in dialplan/default.xml, <extension name="to-sipp"> <condition field="destination_number" expression="^6666$"> <action application="bridge" data="sofia/internal/profile1/$ 0(a)192.168.1.36"/> </condition> </extension> in sip-profile/profile1.xml <profile name="profile1"> <param name="debug" value="1"/> <param name="rfc2833-pt" value="101"/> <param name="sip-ip" value="192.168.1.36"/> <param name="sip-port" value="5069"/> <param name="dialplan" value="XML"/> <param name="dtmf-duration" value="100"/> <param name="codec-ms" value="20"/> <param name="use-rtp-timer" value="true"/> </profile>

Alias user mapping
by Jonathan Barou 15 Oct '09

15 Oct '09

Hi everybody, I have a problem with "Alphanumeric to numeric user mapping" I have done like it's written here : Alphanumeric to numeric user mapping Say you want a user's id to be alphanumeric (like an email username), such as johnsmith(a)pbx.example.com. These users have alphanumeric usernames in their sip phone config, but you want to map them from their sip username to a numeric extension, and vice versa. As of version 1.0.4, Freeswitch makes this trivial to accomplish. A user's ID can be any alphanumeric string, and this can be simply tied to an extension number using the 'number-alias' property. This property creates an aliased directory entry that points to the alphanumeric user entry. *NOTE: When using this attribute, you must be careful not to create a directory collision by having another user whose ID is the same as another user's alias* Here is an example from the user directory: <user id="johnsmith" number-alias="1001"> </user> So when a user dials extension number 1001, your dialplan can use the 'user_data' function to look up the ID attribute associated with that number alias. In the default dialplan, the 'Local Extension' section can be made to work with a small change to the 'bridge' line: <action application="bridge" data="user/${user_data(${dialed_extension}@${domain_name} attr id)}@${domain_name}"/> *NOTE: Using this user_data function in combination with mod_xml_curl will generate an additional request each time the user_data function is called. Note that it is already called once in the Local Extension section to determine the callgroup. Beware of performance implications of this with high-volume systems.* But when I want to call my alias-number, FS says "No Route, Abording" My version of FreeSWITCH is the 1.0.4pre9. Do you have any ideas ? Did I forget something to do? Thanks -- Jonathan BAROU SQLI LYON - CRCI jbarou(a)sqli.com lyon.crci(a)sqli.com
